Volleyball Legends Update 88 is now live, and this one is focused heavily on quality-of-life improvements, limited-time rewards, and some useful new items. Alongside the new Slimed Bundle, we’re getting better Training Mode controls, Ranked location pings, new XP and Yen potions, Ronin fixes, and a big 2x Luck event.
There’s also a short window where players can claim free Lucky Style and Ability Spins, so you’ll want to pay attention to the event times if you’re trying to get them. The update also adds three new codes, including one that gives you a free 2x XP Potion.

Let’s break down each addition.
Get Slimed With the New Bundle
The biggest cosmetic addition in Update 88 is the new Slimed Bundle.
You can find it inside the new Slime Corner in the lobby.
The bundle gives your game a completely slime-covered look and includes several different cosmetic items.
Slime Ball
The Slime Ball is an animated volleyball covered in goo.
It doesn’t just sit there looking different either. The ball leaves slime splats on things it touches, making it a fun visual change during matches.
Slime Splash Score Effect
The bundle also includes the Slime Splash Score Effect.
Whenever you score, you can cover the court and screen with slime.
If you like cosmetic effects that make your scoring animations stand out, this is probably the main attraction of the bundle.
Get Slimed Player Card
You’ll also receive the Get Slimed Player Card, giving you another way to show off the theme outside of the actual match.
How Long Is the Slimed Bundle Available?
The Slimed Bundle is only staying around for 2 weeks.
So if you want it, don’t wait too long before checking the Slime Corner.
Ranked Games Get a New Location Ping
Update 88 also adds a useful communication feature specifically for Ranked matches.
You can now ping a specific location on the court to tell your teammates exactly where you want the ball.
This should make coordinating plays much easier, especially when you’re playing with teammates who aren’t using voice chat.
How to Use the Ping
The controls are different depending on your platform:
- PC: Press C
- Console: Press R3
- Mobile: Tap the new Ping button
Once you place the ping, a yellow beacon appears at the selected location.
If the location is currently outside your screen, you’ll see a yellow arrow pointing toward it.
You can also change the ping key through the game’s Settings menu.
One important detail is that this feature is exclusive to Ranked games.
Training Mode Just Got Much Better
Training Mode has received one of the biggest quality-of-life upgrades in the update.
The Ball Launcher has been completely improved, making it easier to practice without constantly resetting your setup.
See the Ball’s Path
The Ball Launcher now shows you the path of the ball before it launches.
It also displays a timer, giving you a much clearer idea of when the next ball is coming.
This should make practicing specific receives and movements much easier.
Balls Stay Around Longer
Previously, balls could disappear as soon as another one spawned.
That’s no longer the case.
Balls now remain in the training area for longer, meaning you don’t have to constantly deal with the previous ball disappearing while you’re practicing.
Choose Where the Launcher Aims
You can now press C to choose where the Ball Launcher aims.
This gives you much more control over your practice setup.
There are also new settings available through the Ball Launcher menu.
New Ball Launcher Options
The Ball Launcher menu now includes several useful controls, including:
- Launch timing
- Ball height
- Ball timer
The menu can be opened from the left side of your screen.
This replaces the old prompt that was previously used to interact with the launcher.
Another nice change is that your Ball Launcher settings are now saved when you respawn the launcher.
So you shouldn’t have to configure everything again every time you reset it.
New 2x Yen and XP Potions
If you’re trying to level up or earn Yen faster, Update 88 has something useful for you.
Two new potions have been added to the Shop:
2x Yen Potion
The 2x Yen Potion gives you double Yen for 2 hours.
This can be useful if you’re planning to spend a long session farming currency.
2x XP Potion
The 2x XP Potion gives you double XP for 2 hours.
If you’re currently grinding levels, this can make your progression much faster during the potion’s active period.
You can check the remaining potion duration in the top-right corner of your screen.
Free 2x XP Potion Code
You don’t necessarily need to buy the XP potion immediately.
Use the code:
XP_BOOST
This gives you a free 2x XP Potion.
Ronin Has Been Fixed
Ronin also received a couple of important fixes in Update 88.
The developers fixed an issue with Ronin’s charge bar, which should make the ability behave more reliably.
There’s also a fix for Ronin Mastery 1’s Serve boost, which should now work properly.
So if you’ve been using Ronin and noticed something wasn’t behaving correctly, this update should clean up those problems.
2x Luck Event Is Live
One of the biggest reasons to jump into Volleyball Legends right now is the new 2x Luck event.
The event is designed to give you a better chance of getting the Styles and Abilities you’re looking for.
Event Schedule
The event runs from:
September 19, 2026 at 11:30 AM ET
until:
September 21, 2026 at 11:30 AM ET
That gives you only 48 hours to take advantage of it.
Secret Pity Is Halved
During the event, the Secret pity requirement is reduced:
200 → 100
So you’ll need half as much pity compared with the normal requirement.
Secret Chances Are Doubled
The Secret Style and Ability chance also increases:
0.5% → 1%
So the chance is doubled during the event.
If you’ve been saving your spins for a Secret Style or Ability, this is the limited-time window to keep in mind.
Free Lucky Style and Ability Spins
There’s also a separate Lucky Spin giveaway happening around the start of the event.
Lucky Style and Ability Spins are being handed out from:
September 19, 2026 at 10:30 AM ET to 12:30 PM ET
The giveaway happens every 10 minutes during that period.

What Should You Do First?
If you’re jumping into Update 88 right now, there are a few things worth prioritizing.
First, redeem all three codes so you don’t miss the free rewards.
Then, if you’re online during the Lucky Spin handout window, take advantage of the free spins every 10 minutes.
After that, the 2x Luck event is the big one to focus on. The Secret pity being reduced from 200 to 100 and the Secret chance increasing from 0.5% to 1% makes the event particularly important if you’re hunting for a rare Style or Ability.
For players who mainly want to improve their gameplay, don’t forget to check out the updated Training Mode and try the new Ball Launcher controls.
Update 88 is less about adding a completely new gameplay system and more about making Volleyball Legends smoother while giving players several limited-time reasons to play.
