The Fullbringer system in Type Soul has become much more interesting lately, especially after all the newer additions and balance changes. Some Fullbringers are built around pure aggression, others focus on combo pressure, and a few are just completely overwhelming in the current meta.

One thing that makes Fullbringers so important is that even the weaker ones are still usable if you understand their strengths. There honestly are not many completely useless options right now. However, some are definitely far stronger than others, especially for ranked PvP and combo-heavy builds.

This guide goes through every major Fullbringer mentioned in the showcase, explains what makes them strong or weak, and breaks down why they belong in their current tier.

S Tier Fullbringers

These are the strongest Fullbringers right now. They either have insane combo potential, broken utility, extremely safe pressure, or mechanics that are simply difficult to deal with consistently.

Spiral

Spiral is easily one of the most overpowered Fullbringers currently in the game.

Almost every part of its kit is strong:

  • Fast M1s
  • Powerful combo extensions
  • Great pressure
  • Broken critical
  • Easy confirms
  • Strong movement

The critical move alone is ridiculous because of how difficult it is to punish. Many Spiral abilities naturally extend into each other, especially on Haka builds where combo chaining becomes absurdly strong.

The biggest reason Spiral feels so oppressive is that nearly every move either:

  • Starts combos
  • Extends combos
  • Keeps pressure going
  • Forces reactions

There is very little downtime when fighting against a good Spiral player.

Since it is still relatively new, many players also expect nerfs eventually. Until that happens, Spiral will probably remain one of the strongest choices in the game.

Zangetsu

Zangetsu is another monster in the current meta.

Even though the M1s themselves are awkward, the critical move completely makes up for it because of its hyper armor and speed. Most players barely even use standard M1s and instead rely heavily on the crit.

The Fullbringer becomes terrifying because:

  • Moves combo naturally together
  • Hyper armor allows aggressive pressure
  • Guard breaks are extremely strong
  • Stun windows are huge
  • Damage output is very high

One of the scariest things about Zangetsu is how easy it is to force unavoidable pressure chains once you start landing hits.

The move flow feels extremely smooth:

  • C into X
  • X into Z
  • Crit extensions
  • Air pressure setups

Everything links together incredibly well.

Shenria

Shenria is one of the most annoying Fullbringers to fight in PvP.

Its biggest strength is utility.

The kit gives:

  • Healing
  • Projectile pressure
  • Shields
  • Ragdolls
  • Slows
  • Safe combo opportunities

The healing alone already makes it extremely valuable because sustain is always strong in long fights.

Its ranged pressure also forces opponents into uncomfortable situations constantly. Combined with speed builds, Shenria becomes incredibly difficult to pin down.

The shield mechanic is especially frustrating because it can interrupt enemy momentum and instantly create combo opportunities.

Dirty Boots

Dirty Boots may look simple at first, but it is insanely effective.

The entire kit is fast, aggressive, and very damaging.

Its strengths include:

  • Fast M1s
  • Hyper armor crit
  • Strong damage
  • Great pressure
  • Fast startup moves
  • Excellent combo potential

The Z move being nearly frame one makes it incredibly difficult to react to consistently.

The tornado move is also extremely useful because it creates strong hit stun and helps continue pressure easily.

Dirty Boots works well on:

  • Haka
  • Speed builds
  • Kendo

which makes it one of the most flexible S-tier Fullbringers overall.

A Tier Fullbringers

These Fullbringers are still extremely strong and fully viable in ranked, but they are not quite as overwhelming as the S-tier options.

Char

Char is a very solid aggressive Fullbringer.

The guard break slashes are especially useful because clever players can intentionally manipulate the second slash to create combo opportunities.

The X move provides decent damage and mobility, while the hyper armor C move gives good pressure.

Its biggest weakness is that some moves are harder to combo from consistently, especially the launcher-style attacks.

Still, Char is very strong overall and easily deserves A tier.

Book of the End

Book of the End is one of the more technical Fullbringers.

The move interactions and mark system allow for some creative combos and extensions. It works especially well on builds that rely on mobility and pressure.

The C move is probably its best tool because of how easily it connects into follow-ups.

Book of the End rewards players who:

  • Understand timing
  • Know combo routes
  • Use movement well

It is powerful, but not quite broken enough for S tier.

Chess

Chess is one of the most visually chaotic Fullbringers in the game.

The summoned pieces and pressure tools make fights feel extremely cluttered for opponents.

Its strengths include:

  • Hyper armor
  • Constant pressure
  • Strong utility
  • Combo interruption
  • Area control

The summoned piece mechanic is particularly annoying because it can interrupt enemy attacks during pressure situations.

Chess feels fair overall, but still very strong.

Time Lies

Time Lies is one of the most unique Fullbringers mechanically.

Instead of relying purely on damage, it focuses heavily on:

  • Slow effects
  • Auto-tracking attacks
  • Interruptions
  • Defensive utility
  • Buff systems

The slowdown aura is especially dangerous because it disrupts enemy timing completely.

Once slowed, opponents struggle to:

  • Parry properly
  • Dodge consistently
  • Escape combos

It is not quite as oppressive as Spiral or Zangetsu, but still incredibly powerful in skilled hands.

Dollhouse

Dollhouse is another combo-heavy Fullbringer that becomes terrifying with the right build.

The doll transformation mechanic creates huge combo opportunities, especially on Haka.

Its strengths include:

  • Strong marks
  • Fast ranged attacks
  • Combo setups
  • Good pressure
  • High burst potential

The slow-moving auto-track attack is also extremely annoying during close-range fights.

Dollhouse rewards aggressive combo-focused players heavily.

B Tier Fullbringers

These are still usable and can perform well, but they either require more effort, have consistency issues, or simply get outclassed by stronger options.

Cross of Scaffold

Cross of Scaffold has some decent combo potential thanks to hyper armor and true combo setups.

However, several moves feel inconsistent or difficult to land reliably.

The biggest issue is that some attacks are easier to avoid compared to higher-tier Fullbringers.

It is still usable, but definitely less oppressive overall.

Devil Arm

Devil Arm is simple but effective.

Its main strengths are:

  • Good M1s
  • Strong hyper armor crit
  • Huge hitboxes
  • Decent mobility

The X move especially has surprisingly large range.

However, compared to stronger Fullbringers, Devil Arm lacks the overwhelming pressure or utility needed to compete consistently at higher levels.

Jackpot Knuckles

Jackpot Knuckles mainly shines on Haka builds.

It has strong stun potential and can create nasty close-range pressure, but many of its moves have limited range and require extremely close positioning.

It also sounds like several stun mechanics may get nerfed in future updates, which lowers its long-term value slightly.

Still playable, but harder to use effectively compared to top-tier options.

Type Soul’s Fullbringer system is honestly in a very interesting state right now because almost every option feels at least somewhat viable. The difference is mainly how much pressure, consistency, and combo potential each one offers.

Right now, Spiral, Zangetsu, Shenria, and Dirty Boots clearly stand above the rest because of how overwhelming they can become in PvP.

Meanwhile, A-tier Fullbringers remain excellent choices for players who prefer more technical or specialized playstyles.

Even the B-tier options are still perfectly usable if you enjoy their mechanics, which is honestly a good sign for the overall balance of the game.
