Type Soul finally brought back its re-release update, and with it came several new elements and abilities for players to test out. One of the biggest additions right now is the brand-new Spiral Fullbring, and honestly, it already looks like one of the strongest and most frustrating builds to fight against in the current meta.

After seeing it used in ranked matches, it is pretty easy to understand why so many players are calling Spiral overpowered. The damage, mobility, pressure, and invulnerability mechanics all combine into a build that feels extremely aggressive while still being surprisingly safe.

If you are wondering whether Spiral is worth using or just want to understand how it works, this guide breaks down everything shown during the showcase in simple and easy English.

Type Soul Spiral Fullbring Guide

From the very beginning of the showcase, Spiral immediately looked different compared to older Fullbrings.

The biggest thing players noticed was how fast and aggressive the moveset feels. The M1 speed is incredibly quick, which makes applying pressure much easier during close-range fights.

Fast M1s are already strong in Type Soul because they help with:

  • Combo extensions
  • Parries
  • Pressure during blocking
  • Punishing mistakes

Spiral takes that even further because many of its moves chain together very smoothly.

The Critical Ability Gives Full Invulnerability

One of the craziest things shown during the showcase was Spiral’s critical ability.

According to the player, when using the critical move, you basically become fully invulnerable. Instead of taking damage normally, incoming hits get absorbed into Spiral energy.

That means opponents cannot simply trade attacks with you safely while the ability is active.

This is a huge reason why people already think Spiral is broken. In a game heavily focused on timing, combos, and punishes, having a move that grants full invulnerability can completely swing fights.

Drill Rush

Drill Rush looked like one of the most important abilities in the entire kit.

The move allows players to:

  • Rush enemies quickly
  • Extend combos
  • Continue pressure
  • Set up follow-up attacks
  • Create mix-up opportunities

There is also an M2 variant of Drill Rush, although during the showcase the player realized opponents could sometimes block it if timed properly.

Even with that weakness, the move still looked extremely useful because of how easily it connects into other attacks.

Spiral Has Very Fast Combo Potential

One thing that stood out throughout the gameplay was how quickly Spiral users can transition between moves.

The player constantly chained:

  • M1 attacks
  • Rush abilities
  • Knockups
  • Down slams
  • Parries
  • Repositioning attacks

This makes Spiral very dangerous in ranked because opponents barely get time to breathe once pressure starts.

Even when combos were not perfectly optimized, Spiral still dealt strong damage consistently.

Spiral Energy Mechanic

Another unique mechanic shown during the video was Spiral Energy.

When certain attacks connect or when the invulnerability effect absorbs hits, energy builds up and can then be used offensively.

This creates a really annoying loop for opponents because attacking recklessly may actually help the Spiral player gain more resources.

That is part of why the build feels so oppressive during close-range fights.

Ranked Gameplay Showed How Hard Spiral Is to Punish

Throughout multiple ranked matches, opponents struggled to properly punish Spiral users.

Even when enemies landed good parries or started decent combos, Spiral’s mobility and defensive tools often let the player escape dangerous situations quickly.

The build seems especially strong against players who:

  • Panic during pressure
  • Miss parries
  • Cannot react quickly
  • Overcommit during combos

Once Spiral starts controlling the pace of the fight, it becomes very difficult to regain momentum.

Build

The player also mentioned how quickly Spiral gains Soul Style energy.

Because Spiral attacks so fast and applies constant pressure, Soul Style charges extremely quickly during fights.

This means players can activate stronger abilities more often compared to slower builds.

The showcase even mentioned that Black Flash Blast would probably work insanely well with Spiral because of how rapidly the build gains energy.

Spiral Rewards

One thing very noticeable during the showcase is that Spiral heavily rewards aggression.

Players constantly moving forward, applying pressure, and chaining attacks will probably get the most value from the build.

Passive playstyles may not fully utilize Spiral’s strengths.

The build seems designed around:

  • Fast engagements
  • Relentless pressure
  • Combo chaining
  • Punishing hesitation
  • Constant movement

If you enjoy highly aggressive PvP gameplay, Spiral will probably feel extremely fun to use.

Spiral Still Requires Good Timing

Even though Spiral looks very strong, it is not completely brainless.

The showcase still showed moments where:

  • Parries interrupted combos
  • Certain attacks got blocked
  • Mistimed abilities failed
  • Overextending became risky

Good players can still punish mistakes, especially if they understand Spiral’s combo routes and timing windows.

So while the build is definitely powerful, skilled play still matters.

Some Technical Issues Happened During the Showcase

The player also dealt with several problems during the matches:

  • Settings resetting
  • Macro issues
  • Camera bugs
  • UI problems

Even with those issues, Spiral still performed extremely well, which honestly says a lot about the current strength of the Fullbring.

Several combos were dropped purely because of technical problems, meaning the build could probably look even stronger under normal conditions.

The new Spiral Fullbring honestly looks like one of the craziest additions Type Soul has received in a long time. The combination of speed, pressure, invulnerability, and combo potential makes it incredibly strong in ranked matches.

Even during imperfect gameplay with bugs and settings issues, the build still dominated several fights and constantly pressured opponents.

If you enjoy aggressive PvP builds with flashy combos and nonstop pressure, Spiral is definitely worth trying out. Just be prepared because there is a very high chance you will start seeing this Fullbring everywhere in ranked matches soon.
