Since Bloodlines provide passive bonuses throughout your entire journey, spending a few minutes rolling for a decent one is absolutely worth it.
Even an average Bloodline is better than starting with none.
Never Leave Your Incubator Empty
One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is forgetting about egg incubation.
Bosses are currently the primary source of special eggs, and every boss guarantees an egg drop when defeated.
The problem is that boss eggs take approximately 15 hours to hatch.
Meanwhile, bosses respawn every 6 hours.
Because of this, you should always keep your incubator working whenever possible.
Every hour your incubator sits empty is essentially wasted progression.
Make it a habit to:
- Defeat available bosses.
- Collect eggs.
- Place an egg into the incubator immediately.
- Repeat whenever bosses respawn.
The earlier you start building this habit, the faster you’ll accumulate powerful monsters.
Pay Attention to Hidden Monster Announcements
While exploring, you’ll occasionally see notifications appear at the top of your screen.
Many players ignore these messages.
You shouldn’t.
These announcements indicate that a Hidden Monster has spawned somewhere in the world.
Hidden Monsters are rare spawns that often provide significantly better rewards than standard monsters.
Whenever you see a notification appear, consider dropping what you’re doing and heading to the location immediately.
These opportunities don’t happen constantly, and missing them can slow down your collection progress.
Learn the Difference Between Traits and Mutations
Traits and Mutations are two of the most important power systems in Blox Monsters.
Every monster can potentially have:
- One Trait
- One Mutation
These bonuses can completely change how effective a monster becomes.
For example:
A health-focused mutation might double a monster’s HP, turning it into a powerful tank.
A damage-oriented trait can dramatically increase offensive potential and help clear bosses faster.
Two monsters of the same species can perform very differently depending on their Trait and Mutation combinations.
Before replacing a monster, always check its bonuses first.
Don’t Release Monsters Too Quickly
When you’re new to the game, it’s tempting to immediately get rid of duplicate monsters.

Duplicates are extremely valuable because they can later be used for Fusion.

Eventually, you’ll unlock access to the Pet Reroll system.
This feature allows you to reroll:

Rerolling requires special fruits that can be earned through gameplay or purchased.
Because these resources can be somewhat limited early on, avoid wasting them on common monsters that you’ll likely replace later.
Instead, save rerolls for monsters that:
- Have strong base stats
- Are difficult to obtain
- Come from Boss Eggs
- Have high ranks
Investing resources into long-term monsters provides much better value.
Check the Item Shop Regularly
The Item Shop offers several useful progression items.
Some of the most valuable purchases include:
Experience Fruits
These help level monsters faster and reduce grinding.
Hourglasses
Hourglasses speed up egg incubation and allow you to hatch monsters sooner.
When you’re waiting 15 hours for an egg to hatch, every reduction matters.
Keeping an eye on the shop can significantly accelerate your progress.
Never Ignore the Limited Shop
A surprising number of players forget this shop exists.
The Limited Shop contains some of the most useful items in the game, including:
- Better Hourglasses
- Exotic Fruits
- Gorgeous Fruits
- Advanced reroll materials
Since the inventory refreshes on a long cooldown, you should always check what’s available whenever possible.
Even if you don’t need something immediately, it’s often worth purchasing valuable resources before the shop resets.
Build Monsters Around Their Strengths
One mistake newer players make is trying to turn every monster into an all-rounder.
That’s usually not the best strategy.
If a monster naturally has high health, focus on improving survivability.
If it excels at damage, prioritize offensive bonuses.
For example:
A tank monster benefits greatly from health-based traits and mutations.
A damage dealer benefits more from attack-enhancing bonuses.
Working with a monster’s strengths generally produces much better results than trying to fix its weaknesses.
Fusion Is the Key to Stronger Monsters
Fusion is one of the most important progression systems in Blox Monsters.
By combining duplicate monsters, you can increase their rank and unlock better stats.
For example:
Three lower-ranked monsters can be fused into a stronger version with improved performance.
This process continues all the way up to the highest ranks in the game.
Many players see high-ranked monsters and assume they’re locked behind Robux purchases.
Fortunately, that’s not the case.
With enough farming and fusion, free-to-play players can work toward top-tier monsters as well.
Grind Bosses Consistently
Since bosses provide guaranteed eggs, they should become part of your regular routine.
Every boss kill is essentially another opportunity to obtain:
- Strong monsters
- Rare monsters
- Better traits
- Better mutations
- Fusion materials
Missing boss respawns means missing valuable progression opportunities.
If you’re serious about growing your collection, boss farming should become a daily habit.
Focus on Long-Term Progression
One thing I’ve learned while playing Blox Monsters is that progression snowballs over time.
Players who constantly incubate eggs, hunt Hidden Monsters, farm bosses, and fuse duplicates eventually pull far ahead of players who only focus on catching random monsters.
Don’t worry too much about having the perfect monster immediately.
Instead:
- Keep your incubator active.
- Watch for Hidden Monster spawns.
- Save good Traits and Mutations.
- Farm bosses regularly.
- Fuse duplicates whenever possible.
If you stay consistent with those habits, your collection will grow much faster than you might expect.
Blox Monsters does a great job of rewarding players who understand its systems. At first glance, it looks like a simple monster-collecting game, but once you dive deeper into Bloodlines, Traits, Mutations, Boss Eggs, and Fusion, there’s a surprising amount of progression to optimize.
If you’re just starting out, focus on securing a good Bloodline, keeping your incubator running around the clock, and taking advantage of every Hidden Monster and Boss opportunity you can find.
Those few habits alone will put you well ahead of most beginners and make the journey toward powerful SSS monsters much smoother.
