If you’ve been waiting for Yukimiya to get the spotlight again, this rework definitely delivers. Instead of simply buffing a few numbers, the developers completely refreshed how the character feels. The new version rewards smart dribbling, proper timing, and knowing exactly when to activate your abilities rather than just spamming skills.
After spending some time looking through every change, Yukimiya feels much more technical than before. It might take a few matches to get comfortable, but once everything clicks together, he’s one of the flashiest characters in Azure Latch.
Here’s everything you need to know about the rework.
Azure Latch Yukimiya Rework Guide – Best Moves, Predator Eye
The rework introduces several brand-new mechanics and updates to older skills, including:
- Predator Eye
- Improved Gyro Shot interactions
- Drag Scissors
- Razor Break
- Street Tag Counter
- Multiple Flow States
- Enhanced dribbling system
- New awakening animations
Rather than giving Yukimiya one overpowered move, the update focuses on chaining abilities together.
Predator Eye Explained
The biggest addition is Predator Eye.
This ability does much more than simply activate a visual effect.
When enabled, Predator Eye displays the projected path of your Gyro Shot, including how the ball will bounce after hitting walls. That makes it much easier to line up difficult angles and bank shots before taking them.
You’ll actually see the shot trajectory in advance, allowing you to adjust your aim before firing.
This becomes especially useful when shooting from awkward positions around the penalty area.
Predator Eye Also Buffs Gyro Shot
Besides showing the shot path, Predator Eye also enhances Gyro Shot itself.
If you time the activation correctly during your shot wind-up, you’ll notice:
- Better shot performance
- A slightly stronger trajectory
- Improved piercing effect
- More reliable curve
Getting the timing right is important because activating it too early or too late won’t provide the full benefit.
Listen for the sound cue while charging your shot since it helps indicate the correct timing window.
How to Use the Old Gyro Shot
One interesting feature of the rework is that the old Gyro Shot hasn’t disappeared completely.
You can still perform a version of it.
Simply activate Predator Eye (T) during the Gyro Shot wind-up.
Doing this changes the shot back to its older trajectory, giving experienced Yukimiya players another option depending on the situation.
It’s a subtle difference, but veteran players will definitely notice it.
Drag Scissors Guide
Drag Scissors is Yukimiya’s newest dribbling move.
The animation quickly shifts the ball to either side before launching into a dash.
The move has an important mechanic.
Successful Hit
If the first part connects against an opponent:
- The opponent gets interrupted.
- Your dash becomes much safer.
- You gain protection during the follow-up movement.
Failed Hit
If the opening portion misses:
- The dash loses its protection.
- Opponents can still tackle you.
- You’ll be much easier to stop.
Because of this, you shouldn’t randomly throw out Drag Scissors.
Wait until defenders commit before using it.
Directional Control
Another nice feature is that Drag Scissors isn’t locked to one direction.
Using movement keys while activating it lets you choose your escape route.
- Press A to move left.
- Press D to move right.
This gives you much better control during one-on-one situations.
Razor Break Explained
Razor Break is another brand-new dribbling skill.
Instead of being a single dash, it comes with three separate charges.
The first two charges can be used almost immediately one after another.
The third charge introduces a cooldown before it becomes available again.
That means you can quickly string together multiple movement options without waiting.
Eight-Directional Movement
One of Razor Break’s strongest features is its mobility.
Unlike many dash skills, Razor Break works in every direction.
You can move:
- Forward
- Backward
- Left
- Right
- Forward-left
- Forward-right
- Backward-left
- Backward-right
This makes it incredibly unpredictable.
Instead of always dashing straight ahead, you can completely change your angle and confuse defenders.
Razor Break Can Cancel Skills
A surprisingly useful mechanic is that Razor Break can cancel certain animations.
For example, you can begin charging Gyro Shot and then immediately cancel into Razor Break.
This opens up plenty of mind games.
Defenders expecting a shot might commit early, allowing you to dash around them instead.
Learning when to cancel abilities will separate experienced Yukimiya players from beginners.
Street Tag Guide
Street Tag replaces the old Arc Break and now functions primarily as a counter skill.
Instead of using it aggressively, it’s designed to punish tackles.
When activated:
- If an opponent tackles you during the counter window, Street Tag activates.
- Stylish visual effects appear.
- The opponent gets punished.
If nobody tackles you during the activation window, you’ll briefly slow yourself down, making poor timing risky.
Because of this, Street Tag works best when you know your opponent is about to challenge you.
Street Tag Parry Variant
Street Tag actually has an even stronger version.
If you’re tackled within roughly 0.15 seconds of activating it, the move becomes a Parry Variant.
This version features:
- Stronger defensive response
- Time slowdown effect
- Additional visual effects
The timing window is extremely small, so mastering this version takes practice.
Yukimiya Flow States
The rework also upgrades Yukimiya’s Flow system.
Instead of having a single transformation, Flow changes several abilities into stronger versions.
Street Style Dribbling
One Flow state focuses entirely on dribbling.
While active, multiple abilities are upgraded.
Drag Scissors → Lane Splitter
Lane Splitter becomes a much faster movement skill that bursts past defenders with lightning-like speed.
It’s excellent for beating the last defender before taking a shot.
Razor Break → Full Breakthrough
Razor Break evolves into Full Breakthrough.
This upgraded version improves mobility while continuing to give multiple directional movement options.
It’s perfect for chaining together advanced dribble combos.
Street Style Dribbling → Ultimate Gyro Shot
Perhaps the biggest upgrade is the new Ultimate Gyro Shot.
After using Street Style Dribbling, activate the skill again to perform the enhanced Gyro Shot.
Just remember that you still need to properly aim your finish.
Landing this consistently can create some incredible scoring opportunities.
Other Awakening Animations
The update also adds two additional Flow awakenings.
Teammate Steal Awakening
This version activates after a teammate interaction and features its own unique entrance animation.
It’s mainly a visual upgrade but helps make Flow activations feel much more dynamic.
Overtime Awakening
The final awakening is tied to overtime situations.
It includes one of the flashiest animations in the entire rework and easily stands out as one of Yukimiya’s coolest visual upgrades.
