If you’ve jumped into Fisch recently and noticed a little Developer Gift sitting on the right side of your screen, you’re probably wondering what’s actually inside it and, more importantly, how to claim it before it disappears.

The good news is that opening it is really easy. The gift is available for a limited time, though, so you don’t want to leave it sitting there for too long. I opened mine to see what the developers had packed inside, and honestly, there’s a lot more than I expected.

Here’s exactly how to claim the Dev Present and everything you can get from it.

How to Claim the Developer Gift in Fisch

When you enter Fisch, look toward the right side of your screen. You should see a notification for the Free Developer Gift, along with a countdown showing how much longer you have to claim it.

During the event shown in the video, the countdown gives you 2 days to collect the present.

Don’t worry about finding a hidden NPC or travelling around the map. The gift can be claimed directly from the notification.

Click on the Developer Gift notification and a small message from the developers will appear. Read it if you want, then press the Claim button.

That’s it.

The Developer Gift will then be added to your inventory. From there, open your inventory and look for the present.

How to Open the Dev Present

Once the gift has been added to your inventory, select it and choose the option to open it.

This is where things get interesting because the Developer Gift isn’t just one random item. It gives you a pretty big collection of rewards, including a special rod, boats, cosmetics, furniture, and additional items such as relics, bait, and shells.

I honestly wasn’t expecting the gift to contain this much stuff.

Here’s everything you can expect to find inside.

Dark Heart Rod

The biggest reward from the Developer Gift is easily the Dark Heart Rod.

The rod has a pretty ridiculous-looking set of stats:

  • Lure Speed: 1,000%
  • Luck: 200%
  • Control: -0.1
  • Resilience: -10%
  • Max KG: Infinite

The description is also pretty funny, saying that the rod is darker than RGB 000 and that it steals life from your enemies.

But the interesting part isn’t just the stats.

When using the rod, you can notice a heart mechanic while fishing. After casting, one of the hearts can break, which makes the rod feel noticeably different from a normal fishing rod.

The rod can also give you the Dark Heart mutation, which makes the reward even more interesting.

And visually, the casting effect looks great. The slash-like effects make it feel more like you’re attacking the fish instead of simply reeling it in.

So if you’re wondering which item from the Developer Gift is worth checking out first, I’d definitely start with this one.

Developer Gift Boats

The gift also comes with two boats, giving you a couple of fun options for travelling around Fisch.

The first is Snow’s Bow.

Its stats are:

  • Speed: 185
  • Steering: 120
  • Acceleration: 0.4

It’s also probably the faster-looking option between the two, so it’s worth trying out if you want something a little different from your usual boat.

The second boat is Chilly Stone Guy.

Its stats are:

  • Speed: 100
  • Steering: 100
  • Acceleration: 0.5

This one has a much more goofy appearance, which fits the general vibe of some of the Developer Gift rewards perfectly.

Honestly, some of these items feel like the developers just decided to throw random fun stuff into one giant present, and I’m not complaining.

Goober Bobber

Next up is the Goober Bobber.

This is one of those smaller cosmetic rewards that you might overlook when you first open the gift, but it’s worth checking out if you like collecting fishing cosmetics.

It has its own unique appearance and even has an effect when used.

It’s definitely more of a fun collectible than something you’re going to use for its stats, but that’s kind of the point of this whole gift.

World Lamp Lantern

Then there’s the World Lamp Lantern.

Yes, the developers really did put a lamp in the present.

It has a wooden, goofy-looking appearance and is mainly there as a cosmetic item for your setup.

It might not be the most exciting reward compared with the Dark Heart Rod, but if you’re the type of player who likes decorating and collecting unusual items, it’s another free addition to your collection.

Large Sleepy Companion Skin

The Developer Gift also includes a companion skin called Large Sleepy.

This one is basically a giant version of the secret-style skin that players may have seen previously.

It’s a pretty funny cosmetic, especially because of how oversized it looks compared with the normal version.

If you like collecting companion cosmetics, definitely don’t skip this one.

Pogo Master Soul Reaper Skin

Another cosmetic included in the gift is the Pogo Master skin for the Soul Reaper.

Once equipped, the Soul Reaper gets a completely different appearance, giving you another goofy cosmetic to mess around with.

It’s not a gameplay-changing reward, but considering this is a free developer present, getting extra skins on top of the rod and boats is a pretty nice bonus.

Noise Farm Skin

The gift also contains a skin for the Noise Farm.

This one ended up being one of the more interesting cosmetics in the collection. It has a completely different look from the standard version and gives you another way to customize your setup.

If you’re collecting every cosmetic from the event, you’ll definitely want to keep this one.

What Why Halo

The final major cosmetic is the What Why Halo.

This one is probably the funniest item in the entire gift.

Instead of simply putting something around your character’s head, the cosmetic basically turns your head into an emoji-style face.

It’s the kind of item that makes you stop for a second and ask, “Why does this even exist?”

And honestly, that’s exactly why it’s fun.

Other Rewards From the Dev Present

The rewards don’t stop with the main items.

The Developer Gift also throws in some additional goodies, including:

  • Relics
  • Bait
  • Shells

The exact combination makes the present feel much more generous than a normal free login reward.

So even if you’re mainly interested in the Dark Heart Rod, make sure you actually open the present rather than only claiming it and forgetting about it.

Don’t Miss the Developer Gift

The most important thing to remember is that this is a limited-time Developer Gift.

If you see the countdown on the right side of your screen, don’t assume you can come back whenever you want. During the event shown here, players had 2 days to claim the reward.

The process takes less than a minute:

  1. Open Fisch.
  2. Look at the right side of your screen.
  3. Select the Free Developer Gift notification.
  4. Read the developer message.
  5. Click Claim.
  6. Open your inventory.
  7. Select the Developer Gift.
  8. Open the present and collect your rewards.

And that’s basically it.

The Dark Heart Rod is definitely the star of the show, but getting two boats, several skins, a bobber, lantern, halo, and extra resources from the same free gift makes this one surprisingly packed.

So if the Developer Gift is still available in your game, I’d open it now rather than risking the timer running out. You might as well grab all the free stuff while it’s there.
