If you’re doing the new fork quest in Adopt Me! and wondering why you’ve been running around the map clicking on every random object you can find, don’t worry — you’re definitely not the only one.
The tricky part is that these forks don’t actually look like forks when they spawn. They can appear as completely ordinary objects around the map, which makes this quest surprisingly easy to get stuck on.

The Forks Don’t Look Like Forks
This is what makes the quest confusing.
When you arrive at one of the correct locations, don’t expect to see a giant fork sitting there waiting for you.
The fork can actually appear as a completely normal-looking object.
You might be looking at something like:
- A log
- A rock
- A bone
- A beach ball
- A box
- A flower
- A barrel
- A bush
- A crate
- Other random objects around the area
So if you’re searching for something that visually looks like a fork, you’re probably going to miss it.
Instead, you’re looking for interactable objects.
Use Your Pet’s Hot and Cold Signals
This is easily the most useful trick for this quest.
When you’re walking around with your pet, watch the emojis it gives you.
If you get a cold signal, you’re too far away from the hidden fork.
If the signal changes to hot, you’re getting close.
That’s your cue to stop wandering around randomly and start checking the objects nearby.
For example, if you’re walking around the beach and suddenly get a hot signal, don’t keep running across the entire map.
Slow down.
Check the nearby rocks, boxes, trees, barrels, beach objects, and other items until you find the one that can be interacted with.
This makes the search much faster.
Fork Location 1: Center Area
One possible location is down in the center area of the map.
Make sure you check the objects around this section carefully.
Because the hidden fork can appear as a random item, don’t just look for something that obviously stands out.
If your pet starts giving you a hot signal, start checking the nearby objects one by one.
Fork Location 2: Beach Log
The beach is another important area to search.
One possible fork location is around the log on the beach.
Again, the object itself isn’t going to look like a fork.
If you’re near the log and your pet gives you a hot signal, investigate the surrounding objects.
The hot/cold mechanic is especially useful here because the beach has quite a few objects that can make it difficult to know exactly where you’re supposed to look.
Fork Location 3: Rock
Another potential location is near a rock.
This is one of those spots that’s very easy to overlook because it doesn’t look particularly suspicious.
If your pet starts indicating that you’re getting close, check the rock and the objects immediately surrounding it.
Don’t forget that the actual fork may be represented by a completely different-looking item.
Fork Location 4: Small Tree or Beach Box
You can also find a fork around the small tree in the beach area.
This is another good example of why you should pay attention to the hot/cold signals.
If you get a hot signal near the tree, don’t necessarily assume the tree itself is the item.
Check everything around it.
In the example shown in the video, the fork was actually hidden in a box on the beach.
So if your pet says you’re hot near a tree, box, or other nearby object, check all of them.
Fork Location 5: Flower or Barrel
Another possible location is around a flower.
The flower can be either big or small, so don’t assume the size of the object rules out the location.
There’s also a potential location at a barrel.
The barrel is particularly worth checking if your pet is giving you a hot signal nearby.
The important thing here is to search the entire little area rather than focusing on one specific object.
Fork Location 6: Bush
A bush is another potential fork location.
Again, it doesn’t look anything like a fork, which is why this quest can be confusing if you’re trying to identify the item visually.
If your pet starts showing a hot signal around a bush, check the bush and everything nearby.
You may find the hidden fork there.
Another Possible Location: Beach Crate
The final item in the example was found inside or around a crate on the beach.
This was the sixth fork location for the player in the video.
The important thing to take away from this isn’t necessarily that your sixth fork will always be at the exact same crate.
The quest can use different locations, so treat these as potential spots rather than a guaranteed six-stop route.
How to Find the Forks Faster
If you’re struggling with this quest, here’s the method I’d use.
First, make sure the fork quest is active.
Then start moving around the map and watch your pet.
When you get a cold signal, keep moving.
As you get closer and the signal changes to hot, slow down.
Now start checking every nearby object.
Look at things like rocks, bushes, flowers, boxes, barrels, logs, beach objects, and crates.
When you find the correct object, interact with it using E.
You’ll know you’ve found one when the quest counter increases.
Don’t Search the Entire Map Randomly
This is probably the biggest time-saving tip.
You don’t need to run around clicking every object on the map.
Use the hot/cold mechanic to narrow down the search area first.
Think of it like a treasure detector.
Cold means you’re heading the wrong way.
Hot means you’re getting close.
Once you’re hot, start checking objects.
That turns what could be a frustrating scavenger hunt into a much more manageable search.
What Happens After Finding All 6 Forks?
Once you’ve found all six hidden items, the quest will be complete.
You’ll then be able to claim the reward associated with the fork quest.
So if you’ve already found five and you’re struggling with the last one, don’t give up.
Just keep moving around the likely areas and pay close attention to your pet’s signals.
The final fork can be just as easy to miss as the first one because, again, it may look like an ordinary object.
The hidden fork quest in Adopt Me! is definitely one of those quests that looks much harder than it actually is.
The main reason it’s confusing is that the forks don’t visually look like forks. You’re essentially searching for random objects that can contain the hidden item.
Once you understand that, the quest becomes much easier.
Your best friend here is your pet’s hot and cold signal.
Use cold to know you’re far away, use hot to know you’re getting close, and once you’re in a hot area, start checking every nearby object.
