Lily and Lyleen are the second Tower Boss you’ll encounter in Palworld Version 1.0. Found inside the Free Pal Alliance Tower, this battle introduces a more mobile opponent that relies heavily on ranged Grass attacks. While the fight is more difficult than Zoe and Grizzbolt, bringing Fire-type Pals, ranged weapons, and proper equipment will give you a significant advantage.

How to Beat Lily and Lyleen
Reach Level 20 or Higher
Although the fight is available around Level 20, reaching Level 24 makes the battle noticeably easier.
The additional levels improve your health and damage while unlocking important Technology upgrades such as the Makeshift Handgun, Metal Armor, and Metal Helm.
If you still need experience, defeating Alpha Pals and clearing dungeons provides some of the fastest progression during this stage of the game.
Equip the Best Armor Available
Lyleen deals heavy Grass-type damage throughout the encounter, making stronger armor extremely valuable.
Before Level 23, Cold Resistant Pelt Armor offers excellent protection. Once you unlock it, upgrade to Metal Armor and Metal Helm for a substantial increase in defense and overall survivability.
Use the Makeshift Handgun
The Makeshift Handgun is one of the best weapons for this encounter.
Unlike melee weapons, it allows you to consistently damage Lyleen even while the boss jumps around the arena. Although crafting ammunition requires Gunpowder and Sulfur, the increased damage and accuracy make the investment worthwhile.
If ammunition becomes a problem, you can also purchase bullets from Wandering Traders instead of crafting them yourself.
Stay Behind the Pillars
The pillars inside the arena provide excellent protection against most of Lyleen’s ranged attacks.
Keep one between yourself and the boss whenever possible, then briefly step out to fire before returning to cover.
However, be careful of Grass Tornado, as this attack ignores terrain and can still hit you even while hiding behind a pillar. Always watch Lyleen’s attack animations and be ready to dodge when necessary.
Bring Fire-Type Pals
Since Lyleen is a Grass-type Pal, Fire attacks deal significantly increased damage.
Fire Pals also resist many of Lyleen’s Grass attacks, allowing them to survive longer while drawing the boss’s attention.
Useful Fire attacks include:
- Ignis Blast
- Spirit Fire
- Flare Arrow
Allow your Fire Pal to engage Lyleen while you continue attacking safely from a distance.
Use the Pyromaniac Passive
If possible, bring a Fire Pal with the Pyromaniac passive skill.
Pyromaniac increases Fire damage by 10%, allowing your Fire attacks to remove Lyleen’s health much more quickly during the battle’s time limit.
Breed Better Passive Skills
If you plan to optimize your combat team, breeding can produce stronger Fire Pals with multiple powerful passive abilities.
Well-bred Pals with offensive passive skills perform significantly better during Tower Boss encounters and remain valuable throughout the rest of the game.
Use Partner Skills That Boost Fire Damage
Certain Partner Skills strengthen Fire-type attacks.
One of the best early examples is Rooby, whose Partner Skill increases the effectiveness of your active Fire Pal. Even if Rooby isn’t your primary attacker, simply keeping it in your party provides a useful offensive boost.
Teach Fire Attacks with Skill Fruits
If your strongest combat Pal isn’t naturally a Fire type, you can still give it Fire-element attacks using Fire Skill Fruits.
These fruits are found on Skill Fruit Trees scattered throughout the world and allow almost any Pal to exploit Lyleen’s elemental weakness.
Best Pals for Lily and Lyleen
Foxparks
Foxparks is one of the strongest early-game options for this fight. Its Partner Skill allows you to use it as a flamethrower, dealing continuous Fire damage while taking advantage of Lyleen’s elemental weakness.
Rooby
Rooby’s greatest strength comes from its Partner Skill, which increases the damage dealt by your Fire-type Pals. Even if another Pal serves as your primary attacker, Rooby remains an excellent support choice throughout the encounter.
Teafant
Although Teafant does not deal Fire damage, it provides valuable survivability. Its Partner Skill restores the player’s health, helping you recover during longer battles without relying entirely on healing items.
Daedream
Once you’ve crafted Daedream’s Necklace, Daedream continuously attacks enemies even while another Pal is active. This passive damage steadily reduces Lyleen’s health throughout the encounter.
Best Weapons
Makeshift Handgun
The Makeshift Handgun is the best weapon for this battle thanks to its high damage and ability to consistently hit Lyleen while it moves around the arena.
Crossbow
The Crossbow remains a reliable alternative if you haven’t unlocked firearms yet, offering excellent ranged damage with relatively inexpensive ammunition.
Three-Shot Bow
The Three-Shot Bow provides solid early-game ranged damage and is useful for players challenging the tower before unlocking more advanced weapons.
Primitive Sword
The Primitive Sword can serve as a backup weapon whenever Lyleen moves within melee range, although ranged combat remains the safer strategy.
Best Armor
Metal Armor
Metal Armor provides the highest defense available around this stage of the game and greatly improves your chances of surviving Lyleen’s ranged attacks.
Metal Helm
The Metal Helm complements Metal Armor by increasing your overall durability during the encounter.
Cold Resistant Pelt Armor
If you haven’t reached Level 23 yet, Cold Resistant Pelt Armor is the strongest defensive option available.
Mega Shield
The Mega Shield absorbs incoming damage before your health is affected, giving you extra protection against Lyleen’s powerful ranged attacks.
Rewards for Defeating Lily and Lyleen
Defeating Lily and Lyleen rewards you with:
- Character EXP
- Pal EXP
- 5 Ancient Technology Points
The amount of experience earned depends on your current World Settings.
Lily and Lyleen are an important step up in difficulty from the first Tower Boss, requiring better equipment, stronger Pals, and smarter positioning. Bringing powerful Fire-type Pals like Foxparks and Rooby, using ranged weapons such as the Makeshift Handgun, and taking advantage of the arena’s pillars will make the fight far more manageable.
