Fisch’s Skycrest update brings a fresh chance to claim one free rod during the “Wish of the Sky” event, echoing the previous Fischmas tradition but with updated options. Choosing the right rod is key to maximizing rewards and efficiency in this version.

Players often get stuck deciding which rod to wish for, especially since each has distinct stats and passives that dramatically affect gameplay. Knowing which rod excels in money-making, progress speed, or special effects can save time and resources.

Before making a wish, ensure you have redeemed all Skycrest event codes and take a close look at the rod stats and passives to align your choice with your playstyle and goals.

Compared to last year’s Fischmas, the Skycrest update offers significantly changed rod choices reflecting Fisch’s progression. This shift means earlier recommendations no longer apply, so fresh analysis is necessary. With that in mind, players should prioritize rods that complement the new event dynamics and maximize benefits from the "Wish of the Sky" reward.

If you are familiar with our Fischmas coverage from last year, you may remember that we suggested the best rods to wish for from Santa. Those recommendations made sense at the time, but Fisch has come a long way since then. That is why our picks for the Skycrest update look very different.

After redeeming codes for the Skycrest update, referencing the best rods list will help you pick an advantageous rod for your fishing sessions and event challenges.

Stats Passive Lure Speed: 427% Luck: 237% Control: 0.101 Resilience: -185% Max Kg: infinite 40.1% chance for Supersonic (8.01x) +31% progress at minigame start Mesmerizer: extra rewards every 3 catches Chimera’s Wrath: boosts progress with dodges MiguRod stands out for players focused on earning currency. Its high lure speed and luck stats drive fast, valuable catches, while the infinite weight capacity means no fish is too heavy. The Mesmerizer effect grants extra fish with rare mutations, enhancing profits, and Chimera’s Wrath adds progress boosts during the minigame, speeding up catches. The main downside is negative resilience, but its money-making strengths outweigh this.

Stats Passive
Lure Speed: 427%
Luck: 237%
Control: 0.101
Resilience: -185%
Max Kg: infkg
40.1% chance for Supersonic (8.01x)
Grants +31% Progress at the start of the minigame
Mesmerizer gives you extra rewards every three catches, while successful Chimera’s Wrath dodges can quickly boost your Progress

MiguRod is one of the best rods to wish for if your main goal is making money. Its 427 percent lure speed and 237 percent luck make it a strong catch rod, while its infinite weight capacity lets it handle any fish. It also has a unique use as a relic rod, especially when paired with the Scavenger enchantment.

On top of that, every three catches, the Mesmerizer activates and grants two different fish, with a 100% chance for the Mesmerized mutation, a 14% chance for Shiny, a 9% chance for an Enchant Relic, and a 1% chance for an Exalted Relic.

Each fish also has a 41% chance to activate Chimera’s Wrath, which creates three shapes on the minigame and rewards 4% Progress for every successful dodge, while the bar is cut where each hit lands. You also get a 1.41x increased chance for Rare Finds.

Its passive makes catching fish even faster, with a 40.1 percent chance for Supersonic and an instant 31 percent progress boost at the start of the minigame. The awful resilience is the main drawback, but its money-making and scavenging uses make MiguRod a very valuable wish.

2. Noiseform

Stats Passive
Lure Speed: 125%
Luck: 290%
Control: 0
Resilience: 65%
Max Kg: infinite
+22% weight boost
35% chance Soultorn fish (8.5x)
25% chance Flowed fish (6.5x)
+15% progress speed
+7% forced progress speed
Minigame rewards correct zone selection with 20% progress and Rhythmic mutation chance

Noiseform is notable for combining substantial luck and resilience with unique passive abilities. Its infinite weight capacity and solid stats support consistent catches, while the passive offers weight boosts and increased progress speed. The minigame’s zone selection mechanic requires focus but grants strong mutation benefits and progress, making Noiseform excellent for income and mastery progression.

Noiseform is one of the most useful and ridiculously good-looking rods in Fisch. It has 290 percent luck, 65 percent resilience, infinite weight capacity, and strong passive effects that make it a viable money-making rod.

The passive gives Noiseform even more value through its 22 percent weight boost, valuable Soultorn and Flowed mutations, and extra Progress Speed. Every catch also has a 35 percent chance to give you another Soultorn fish, making this rod particularly good for building up your earnings. And if you are a fan of completing mastery progression, this one has an amazing skin in store for you.

The minigame has several special mechanics that can affect your progress and the mutation chance. Every 3.5 seconds, three zones can appear, with the correct zone revealed through three warnings before a beam strikes for 0.15 seconds, and selecting it grants 20% progress plus a 33% chance to apply the Rhythmic mutation.

Star Beams can also appear every 0 to 10 seconds, dropping 10 arrows that each grant 2% progress, while incorrect zone selections reduce control by 28% and four incorrect selections end the minigame.

3. Castbound

Stats Passive
Lure Speed: infinite
Luck: 390%
Control: 0.14
Resilience: 32%
Max Kg: infinite
+15% XP from all fish
50% chance additional fish with Cosmos, Nebula, Energy, or Fury mutations
Slash passive deals 5% progress every 0.8 seconds

Castbound excels with its limitless lure speed and towering luck stat, making it one of the most powerful rods for both catching and mutation farming. The passive boosts XP gains and grants a high chance to reel in extra mutated fish, while its slash progress mechanic steadily advances catching success. This rod’s minigame complexity brings extra layers to gameplay enjoyment.

Castbound is a stupid rod in the best possible way. It has infinite lure speed, 390 percent luck, infinite weight capacity, and a minigame that gets increasingly strange as you keep a Perfect Catch going.

Its passive is where the rod earns its place on this wishlist. You have a 50 percent chance to gain another fish with one of four valuable mutations, while the slash mechanic repeatedly adds progress during the minigame. The mutation pool alone makes Castbound a very strong money-making option, and the unusual minigame gives it plenty of value beyond its stats.

4. Astraeus Serenade

Luck: 300%
Control: 0.3
Resilience: 20%
Max Kg: infinite
+50% progress speed
15% Astraeus, 10% Serene, 8% Celestial, Breezed, Nova mutations
10% chance to instantly fill progress bar
Flurry of Stars can add up to +30% progress

Astraeus Serenade balances solid stats with powerful passive effects that accelerate progress significantly. The multiple mutation chances enhance catch value, while instant progress bar fills and the Flurry of Stars effect contribute to quick catches, making this rod effective for challenging fish and long-term use. Upcoming buffs will strengthen its appeal further.

Astraeus Serenade rod in Fisch is a strong all-purpose rod with 300 percent luck, 30 percent control, and infinite weight capacity. It is already a good choice for catching difficult fish and making money, while its upcoming buff should make it even more appealing for anyone looking to future-proof their wish.

The passive is where Astraeus Serenade really stands out. It gives 50 percent Progress Speed, several valuable mutation chances, and a chance to instantly fill the progress bar. Its Flurry of Stars can also add another 30 percent progress during normal use, with even more during Starfall.

5. Astralhook Rod

Lure Speed: 100%
Luck: 200%
Control: 0.2
Resilience: 20%
Max Kg: infinite
+15% progress speed
Stars fall every 2 to 4 seconds granting +15% progress
Additional mutation and Enchanted Pool effects

Astralhook Rod is a versatile, reliable choice, providing steady progress increments through periodic falling stars and a bonus to overall progress speed. While its raw stats are moderate compared to other rods, its passive advantages shine when fishing progress-locked or challenging catches, offering balance without relying on overwhelming stats.

Astralhook Rod in Fisch is a solid all around option for the Skycrest update wish. It comes with 200 percent luck, 20 percent control, and 20 percent resilience. The stats are good enough for regular fishing, while its passive gives it a particularly useful role when catching difficult and progress-locked fish.

The rod’s passive is the main reason to consider it. Stars periodically add 15 percent progress, while the rod also gains 15 percent Progress Speed and has effects that can increase the value of your catches. It is a good rod for anyone who wants something useful without relying entirely on raw stats.

6. Remembrance

Stats Passive
Lure Speed: 100%
Luck: 300%
Control: -0.1
Resilience: 20%
Max Kg: infinite
Living: 50% Fluttering (7x), +7% Shiny/Sparkling chance
Departed: 50% Departed (10.5x), +15% progress speed, +15% true progress speed

Remembrance is a versatile rod that adapts to multiple fishing styles through its Living and Departed modes. While it has negative control, its luck and infinite weight capacity compensate well. Living mode boosts chances for Fluttering and shiny fish, while Departed mode enhances mutation multipliers and progress speeds, adding flexibility to your collection.

Remembrance remains a strong choice for anyone looking for a rod that can handle both money-making and regular catches. Its 300 percent luck and infinite weight capacity give it the raw stats needed to catch valuable fish, although the negative control means it takes some getting used to.

The Living and Departed modes give Remembrance two different uses. Living mode focuses on Fluttering fish and Shiny or Sparkling chances, while Departed mode adds a 10.5x mutation, Progress Speed, and True Progress Speed. That flexibility makes it one of the more useful rods to keep in your collection.

7. Rod of the Cosmos

Stats Passive
Lure Speed: 50%
Luck: 135%
Control: 0.1
Resilience: 10%
Max Kg: 10,000kg
15% Nova (6x)
During Starfall: 2% Cosmic Relic chance, +50% progress speed
0.1% Cosmic Relic chance normally

Rod of the Cosmos has a niche role focused on acquiring Cosmic Relics, offering a 2% chance during Starfall events and 0.1% normally. With moderate stats and a capped max weight, it isn’t designed for general money-making but shines for players targeting relic-related objectives.

Rod of the Cosmos is not a rod you pick for general money-making. Its value comes from one very specific job: getting Cosmic Relics in Fisch. That makes it worth considering if you do not want to use Stellarwave or simply want a dedicated rod for macroing Cosmic Relics.

During Starfall, the rod gets a 2 percent chance to reel in a Cosmic Relic alongside a 50 percent Progress Speed boost. It also has a small 0.1 percent Cosmic Relic chance outside Starfall, giving it a niche that very few other rods can fill.
