The 4th of July event is finally live in Fisch, and if you’re trying to complete the limited Patriotic Seas Bestiary before it disappears, there are a couple of things you should know first. At first, some players thought the event was bugged because Patriotic Sharks weren’t spawning correctly, but the latest update fixed that issue.
The good news is that collecting every event fish is actually much easier once you know which fish can be caught anywhere and which ones are locked behind the special shark event.
Here’s everything you need to know.
All Limited Patriotic Seas Fish
The Patriotic Seas Bestiary is split into two categories.
- Three event fish that can be caught anywhere in the world.
- Several shark-exclusive fish that only appear during the Patriotic Shark Hunt event.
That means you won’t need to travel to any special island for the first group, but you’ll need to trigger Patriotic Sharks if you want to finish the entire collection.
How to Catch the Three Regular Patriotic Fish
This is the easy part.
Three of the limited event fish can be caught anywhere in Fisch. Simply fish as you normally would at your favorite fishing spot. There’s no special weather, island, or location requirement mentioned for these fish.
If you’re only after a quick Bestiary completion, you’ll probably collect these naturally while fishing during the event.
Just keep casting and they’ll eventually show up.
How to Catch the Patriotic Shark Hunt Fish
The remaining limited fish are tied to the Patriotic Shark Hunt.
Originally, many players couldn’t spawn these sharks because the feature wasn’t working correctly. Thankfully, the developers fixed this in version 1.91.0.2, so you can now use the Shark Whistle to summon Patriotic Sharks.
Once a Patriotic Shark event appears, you’ll be able to catch the exclusive shark-related fish needed for the event Bestiary.
If you’re wondering why nothing was spawning earlier, that was due to the launch bug rather than anything you were doing wrong.
Shark Whistle Now Works Again
If you already own a Shark Whistle, you’re in luck.
After the latest patch, the whistle can successfully summon Patriotic Sharks. This is currently the fastest way to farm the event instead of waiting for natural shark spawns.
If you don’t get a Patriotic Shark immediately, don’t worry. It isn’t guaranteed every time, so you may need multiple attempts before one appears.
Best Private Server Strategy
If you have access to a private server, this is probably the fastest farming method.
Here’s what many players are doing:
- Join your private server.
- Use the Shark Whistle.
- If no Patriotic Shark appears, leave or shut down the server.
- Reopen it and try again.
- Repeat until a Patriotic Shark spawns.
This saves a lot of waiting compared to public servers where you have to rely on normal event timing.
Patriotic Great White Shark
One of the event-exclusive catches is the Patriotic Great White Shark.
Players have confirmed that it can now be caught after the update fixed Patriotic Shark spawning. If you’re missing this entry, simply keep triggering Patriotic Shark Hunts until you encounter one.
It may take several attempts since shark events are still based on chance.
The Patriotic Seas event is much smoother now that the spawning issue has been fixed. If you tried the event when it first launched and couldn’t get any Patriotic Sharks to appear, it’s worth giving it another shot.
The biggest time saver is definitely using a Shark Whistle in a private server. It removes most of the waiting and lets you focus entirely on hunting the limited fish before the event ends.
If you’re aiming for a complete limited Bestiary, I’d start with the three fish that can be caught anywhere, then spend the rest of your time farming Patriotic Shark Hunts. That way, you’ll only have the rarer shark-exclusive entries left to chase.
