If you’ve just jumped into the latest Anime Apocalypse update, you’ve probably noticed two of the biggest additions are Alpha & Omega (Vergil-inspired) and Devil Hunter (Dante-inspired). They’re easily the highlight of the update, bringing flashy attacks, powerful ultimates, and a brand-new way to spend your event currency.
The big question is simple: Are they actually worth grinding for?
After looking at all of their abilities and how they’re unlocked, here’s everything you need to know before spending your hard-earned tokens.
How to Unlock Alpha & Omega and Devil Hunter
Unlike some previous abilities, these aren’t obtained through spinning.
Instead, you’ll need to farm the new Devil Gauntlet and spend the event currency in the Devil Shop.
Among the new rewards available are:
- Alpha & Omega
- Devil Hunter
- Fused Amulet
- Devil Hunter Wings
- Alpha & Omega Wings
- Shadow Panther
- Fire Lord
- King Cerberus
The biggest purchase is Alpha & Omega, which costs 50,000 event tokens, making it one of the most expensive rewards in the shop.
That means you’ll be spending plenty of time clearing Devil Gauntlet waves if you want to unlock everything.
How to Farm Devil Tokens Faster
The only way to earn the event currency is by progressing through the Devil Gauntlet.
From gameplay, you’ll receive tokens after finishing your run, with higher wave progression rewarding more currency.
Even shorter runs still provide a decent amount of tokens, so newer players can steadily work toward the expensive unlocks without needing to reach extremely high waves.
If you’re planning to buy both abilities, expect to spend a good amount of time farming.
Alpha & Omega Ability Showcase
Alpha & Omega is heavily inspired by Vergil from Devil May Cry, and the moveset definitely captures that fast swordplay style.
Its abilities include:
- Judgment Cut
- Void Slash
- Rapid Slashes
- Ultimate (G Skill)
Most of the regular attacks deal respectable damage while feeling extremely quick.
Judgment Cut
This is one of the cleaner-looking attacks in the kit.
It delivers fast slashes with solid damage and works well against single targets.
Void Slash
Void Slash offers another reliable offensive skill that blends nicely into the combo rotation.
It’s not the flashiest move, but it contributes consistent damage.
Rapid Slashes
Rapid Slashes looks stylish and attacks quickly.
While the animation feels satisfying, its damage isn’t as impressive as some of the other abilities. It works best as part of your combo rather than being your primary source of damage.
Alpha & Omega Ultimate
The ultimate is easily the highlight of the entire kit.
Once activated, it unleashes a massive attack with impressive visual effects that feels worthy of an endgame ability.
Even before being fully upgraded, the ultimate hits surprisingly hard.
After increasing your stats and boosting your attack, the damage becomes even more noticeable.
If you’re choosing Alpha & Omega for one reason alone, the ultimate is probably it.
Alpha & Omega Strengths
What stands out most is how balanced the moveset feels.
Most abilities deal solid damage, have satisfying animations, and chain together naturally during combat.
The only move that feels a little underwhelming is Rapid Slashes, but the rest of the kit more than makes up for it.
Pros
- Excellent ultimate damage
- Fast attack animations
- Strong combo potential
- Stylish visual effects
- Great for boss fights
Cons
- Rapid Slashes feels weaker than the rest of the kit
- Expensive unlock cost
Devil Hunter Ability Showcase
If Alpha & Omega represents Vergil, Devil Hunter clearly takes inspiration from Dante.
The moves feel more aggressive and feature several recognizable attacks.
Its abilities include:
- Sparta
- Rainstorm
- Million Stab
- Sin Devil Trigger
- Ultimate (G Skill)
Sparta
Sparta serves as the primary attack and provides reliable damage while fitting naturally into the rest of the combo.
Rainstorm
Rainstorm is one of the more visually satisfying abilities.
It covers a nice area and looks great during combat, making it one of the standout moves in the kit.
Million Stab
Million Stab delivers multiple rapid hits in front of your character.
It feels responsive and works well against tougher enemies.
Sin Devil Trigger
This ability transforms your character briefly while dealing additional damage.
Although the animation is nice, it doesn’t leave quite the same impact as the ultimate attack.
Devil Hunter Ultimate
The ultimate is where Devil Hunter really shines.
The animation is dramatic, flashy, and easily one of the best-looking skills introduced in the update.
Compared to several previous abilities, this one feels far more polished.
While its damage is excellent, many players may still prefer Alpha & Omega’s ultimate for raw impact.
Which Ability Is Better?
After comparing both abilities, each has its own strengths.
Choose Alpha & Omega if you want:
- Higher burst damage
- A stronger-looking ultimate
- Fast sword-based gameplay
- Excellent boss damage
Choose Devil Hunter if you want:
- A balanced moveset
- Stylish combat animations
- Consistent damage across multiple abilities
- One of the coolest visual designs in the update
Overall, Alpha & Omega appears to have the edge when it comes to ultimate damage, while Devil Hunter feels slightly more enjoyable during regular combat because nearly every ability looks smooth and satisfying.
The latest Anime Apocalypse update delivers two of the strongest and most visually impressive abilities we’ve seen in a while. Whether you’re a fan of Vergil’s precise sword techniques or Dante’s flashy combat style, both unlocks feel rewarding once you put in the time to farm the Devil Gauntlet.
If you’re only planning to unlock one, Alpha & Omega is probably the better overall investment thanks to its incredible ultimate and high burst damage. However, Devil Hunter is far from a bad choice and arguably offers the more enjoyable moveset for everyday gameplay.
Either way, if you’re already farming Devil Tokens, these should be at the top of your priority list before spending currency on the cosmetic rewards.
