Dandy’s World’s Locked Away quest during the Halloween event tasks players with gathering several Lock Box Keys distributed across the lobby and multiple Halloween-themed floors. While some keys are easy to spot, others require using specific characters, interacting with objects, or entering a precise code to collect.

Gameplay reveals this quest is a slight puzzle mixed with exploration, where players often overlook pumpkins or miss the RPG mode switch needed to interact with Gordie’s plush. Recognizing the scattered nature of the objectives can prevent wasted time running back and forth.

Before diving in, ensure you have access to RP mode to switch characters and prepare to explore the lobby, old, and new Halloween floors thoroughly, as every key spot plays a part in completing this locked box puzzle.

  • Dandy’s World Codes

The Lock Box Keys required for this quest are spread across three main areas: the lobby, the old Halloween floor from the prior event, and the new Halloween floor. Each zone features unique interactable objects and hidden items contributing to your progress. Collecting all keys does not require following a strict order; approach areas in any sequence you prefer to gather keys efficiently.

There are several Lock Box pieces spread across different areas. Some require you to interact with objects, while others involve lighting pumpkins or entering a code. Here are all the locations covered in this guide:

  • Lobby
  • Old Halloween floor
  • New Halloween floor

Completing the required objectives in these areas will eventually give you everything needed for the Locked Away quest.

The lobby houses a cluster of Lock Box pieces, including two straightforward keys and another obtained by lighting pumpkins. This area is ideal for early collection as the objectives here are more accessible.

The lobby contains several parts of the quest, including two direct keys and an additional key connected to the pumpkin objective. Start here if you want to collect the easier items first.

Fix the Posters

Start by locating and fixing posters scattered throughout the lobby. Simply interact with each one that appears crooked or misaligned.

Once all relevant posters have been straightened, the game awards you the first Lock Box Key automatically.

Once you have straightened the required posters, the game will reward you with the first Lock Box Key.

Find the Gordie Plush

Next, switch to RP mode and go behind Dandy’s shop. Here you’ll find a sad Gordie plush. Change your character to Twisted Gordie and interact with the plush to claim your next Lock Box Key.

You should find a sad-looking Gordie plush in this area. Switch your character to Twisted Gordie, then interact with the plush. Doing this will give you another Lock Box Key.

Light the Lobby Pumpkins

The lobby has three unlit pumpkins you must find and light. Their locations are next to the tree, beside the elevator, and inside Gordie’s shop room.

Lighting these pumpkins contributes to an overall objective requiring seven lit pumpkins total across all event floors.

The three lobby pumpkins can be found:

  • Next to the tree
  • Beside the elevator
  • Inside Gordie’s shop room

There are four additional pumpkins on the Halloween floors, bringing the total needed for this objective to seven.

Old Halloween Floor Key Locations

The old Halloween floor contains several tasks, including lighting two pumpkins, retrieving hidden items, and inputting a secret code.

Light Two Pumpkins

Locate and light the two unlit pumpkins scattered throughout the old Halloween floor. These count toward your seven-pumpkin total for the Lock Box quest.

These count toward the seven-pumpkin requirement for one of the Lock Box Keys.

Find the Photo in Gordie’s Lore Room

Enter Gordie’s lore room from the previous event and search by Gordie’s bed to find a photo. Interact with this photo to secure a Lock Box item.

Interact with the photo to collect the next Lock Box item.

Interact With the Static TV

In the middle section of the house on the old Halloween floor, find the television showing static. Interaction here grants another Lock Box item without requiring further puzzle solving.

Interact with the TV to receive the next Lock Box item. You do not need to solve a separate puzzle for this part, so make sure you interact with the correct television.

Use the Typewriter Code

Another essential step involves using the typewriter near the back of the house. Input the code 795229 correctly to obtain a Lock Box piece.

Interact with the typewriter and enter the following code:

795229

Once the correct code is entered, you can collect the corresponding Lock Box item.

New Halloween Floor Key Locations

The new Halloween floor includes the remaining pumpkins and a final item near the stage area. Be sure to thoroughly explore, as some sections might be less obvious to access.

Light the Two Halloween Pumpkins

Find and light the two unlit pumpkins on the new Halloween floor. Combined with other pumpkins scattered in the lobby and old Halloween floor, these complete your requirement of seven lit pumpkins and grant another Lock Box Key.

When combined with the three pumpkins in the lobby and two pumpkins on the old Halloween floor, you will have all seven pumpkins needed for the Lock Box Key.

After lighting all seven pumpkins, you will receive another Lock Box Key.

Find the Final Lock Box Piece

The final Lock Box piece lies near the stage on the new Halloween floor. Check behind the stage or try climbing nearby stairs to reach the hidden item.

There is an item hidden there that can be collected. It may also be possible to reach it by climbing the nearby stairs instead of using the unusual route through the area.

Once you have collected this final piece and completed the other Lock Box objectives, you should have everything required for the Locked Away quest.

How to Complete the Locked Away Quest

To complete the Locked Away quest, verify that all objectives below have been finished across each area. The list includes:

  1. Straightening the lobby posters
  2. Using Twisted Gordie to interact with the Gordie plush in RP mode
  3. Lighting the three lobby pumpkins
  4. Lighting two pumpkins on the old Halloween floor
  5. Collecting the photo from Gordie’s lore room
  6. Interacting with the static TV inside the old Halloween house
  7. Entering code 795229 into the typewriter
  8. Lighting two pumpkins on the new Halloween floor
  9. Finding the final Lock Box piece near the stage on the new Halloween floor

Missing any pumpkin objectives? Double-check the three event areas since pumpkins are spread throughout all of them.

The main objectives are:

  • Straighten the posters in the lobby.
  • Enter RP mode and interact with the sad Gordie plush while using Twisted Gordie.
  • Light the three pumpkins in the lobby.
  • Light two pumpkins on the old Halloween floor.
  • Collect the photo from Gordie’s lore room.
  • Interact with the static TV inside the house.
  • Enter 795229 into the typewriter.
  • Light two pumpkins on the new Halloween floor.
  • Collect the final piece near the stage.

After collecting all of the required Lock Box pieces, the Locked Away quest should be completed. If one item is missing, check the pumpkin locations first, since those objectives are spread across all three areas.
