The latest Catch a Monster update is packed with things to do, and it’s honestly one of the more enjoyable updates we’ve seen recently. Alongside a brand-new Nova Coast area, there’s a Trader Event, several new ocean-themed monsters, a new evolution for Rexy called HornRexie, and a few quality-of-life improvements that make farming much easier.
If you’re wondering what to prioritize first after logging in, don’t worry. I’ve gone through everything added in the update, and this guide will help you understand where to go, what to farm, and which rewards are actually worth your time.
Redeem the Latest Update Codes First
Before heading into the new content, make sure you redeem the newest update codes.
If you missed the previous week’s codes, check whether they’re still active because several of them continue working for a while after release. Free rewards are always worth grabbing, especially when you’re about to start farming a new area.
Trader Event Explained
One of the biggest additions is the new Trader Event, and thankfully it’s very straightforward.
You earn Wanderer Coins by completing almost every activity in the game, including:
- Defeating regular monsters
- Fighting bosses
- Completing Rifts
- Clearing Dungeons
- Staying online for passive rewards
The more Wanderer Coins you collect, the more items you can purchase from the Mystery Shop.
If you’re planning to clear out the shop, you’ll need roughly 14,000 Wanderer Coins to buy everything that’s currently available.
Should You Spend Your Coins Immediately?
I’d recommend holding onto your coins instead of buying the first thing you see.
The Mystery Shop rotates its inventory, and S Rank monsters appear much less frequently than common rewards. If you’re patient, you’ll have enough coins ready when one finally shows up.
Spending everything on smaller rewards can leave you empty-handed when the monster you’ve been waiting for finally appears.
How to Unlock Nova Coast
Nova Coast is the newest region added to the game.
Luckily, reaching it isn’t complicated.
Here’s how to find it:
- Travel to Neverland.
- Mount your Dragon or any flying pet.
- Fly toward the left side of the map.
- Continue following the coastline until Nova Coast appears.
Once you arrive, you’ll notice that almost everything in the area revolves around an ocean theme.
Expect to find:
- Sea creatures
- Water-themed monsters
- New enemies
- Fresh farming locations
The new monster designs are honestly some of the better-looking ones added recently, and several of them seem strong enough to become useful additions to many teams.
CapShark Boss Guide
One of the biggest challenges in Nova Coast is CapShark.
This boss comes with an incredible 2.4 trillion HP, making it one of the tougher encounters in the update.
While experienced players may eventually handle it alone, bringing at least one friend is highly recommended.
Having multiple players dramatically speeds up the fight and makes farming much less frustrating.
CapShark Drops
The reason you’ll be farming CapShark is simple.
It drops Prismatic Tears, which are required for the newest Rexy evolution.
Since you’ll need several of them, expect to defeat this boss multiple times before you’re finished.
How to Evolve Rexy into HornRexie
The long-awaited Rexy evolution has finally arrived.
To evolve Rexy into HornRexie, you’ll need:
- 12 Prismatic Tears
- 30 of every required gem type
The Prismatic Tears come directly from defeating CapShark, while the gems can be collected through normal gameplay.
Once you’ve gathered everything, you’ll be able to evolve Rexy into its much stronger form.
If HornRexie is one of your favorite monsters, this will probably be your main farming goal for the update.
New S Rank Chance System
Another welcome addition is the new S Rank pity-style mechanic.
Every time you:
- Capture a monster
- Hatch an egg
your chances of receiving an S Rank increase.
For example, a starting chance of around 0.78% can rise to over 2% after opening several eggs.
That may not sound huge at first, but it’s a big improvement over relying entirely on luck.
Instead of feeling like every attempt is completely random, your odds gradually improve the more you keep trying.
Personally, I like this system because it rewards persistence rather than expecting players to get lucky immediately.
Dungeon Reward Selection
The update also introduces a feature that many players have been asking for.
When entering a dungeon, you’ll now see a reward panel that lets you choose which rewards should be prioritized during Auto Complete.
Instead of receiving completely random loot every time, you can focus your farming on materials you actually need.
This makes grinding much more efficient, especially if you’re chasing evolution materials or upgrade resources.
It’s a small feature on paper, but over dozens of dungeon runs, it saves a surprising amount of time.
What Should You Farm First?
If you’re jumping into the update for the first time, I’d tackle the content in this order:
- Redeem all active codes.
- Start collecting Wanderer Coins through normal gameplay.
- Unlock Nova Coast.
- Defeat CapShark for Prismatic Tears.
- Gather every required gem.
- Evolve Rexy into HornRexie.
- Spend saved Wanderer Coins when an S Rank monster appears in the Mystery Shop.
Following this route lets you make progress on multiple update features without wasting time.
Nova Coast is easily the highlight of this Catch a Monster update. Between the beautiful new area, the Trader Event, HornRexie evolution, CapShark boss fight, and the improved S Rank system, there’s plenty to keep players busy.
The Trader Event rewards patient players, the dungeon reward selection makes farming more efficient, and HornRexie gives longtime Rexy users a strong new goal to work toward. If you’re only planning to focus on one thing first, I’d prioritize farming CapShark for Prismatic Tears while collecting Wanderer Coins on the side. That way, you’ll make steady progress toward both the new evolution and the Mystery Shop rewards at the same time.
