Rin is back, and this time the U20 version has received a pretty serious makeover in Blue Lock: Rivals. The update brings a completely new base moveset, refreshed awakening abilities, new animations and VFX, plus a limited shop filled with Rin-themed cosmetics.
There are also several new Blue Lock Rivals codes to grab, so if you’re jumping into the game after the update, redeem those first before getting into the new Rin kit.
Blue Lock Rivals Rin Rework Update – New Moveset, Awakening, Codes & More
The main focus of this update is obviously U20 Rin. His old kit has been replaced with a new set of moves designed around his destructive playstyle.
The update includes:
- New base moveset
- New awakening changes
- Full VFX rework
- New animations
- Rin-themed limited shop items
- New Rin Bundle
- Several new redeem codes
The awakening isn’t completely finished yet, either. Some of its planned abilities are being added or fixed later because of a Roblox-related issue.
U20 Rin New Base Moveset
Rin’s base kit now has four main abilities.
Curve Shot
Key: C — On Ball
Curve Shot lets you bend the direction of your pass by using A or D.
This gives the move more flexibility than a standard straight pass and should make positioning a little more important when you’re trying to send the ball around defenders.
Fake Shot
Key: C — After Curve Shot
Fake Shot follows Curve Shot and gives Rin another option immediately after using the first ability.
Because it’s tied directly to Curve Shot, you’ll need to use the moves together rather than treating Fake Shot as a completely separate ability.
Opposite Direction
Key: V — On Ball
Opposite Direction is Rin’s movement option in the new base kit.
It’s designed to help him change direction while keeping possession, which fits nicely with the more aggressive dribbling style of the reworked character.
Dribble Zone
Key: B — On Ball
Dribble Zone rounds out Rin’s new base moveset.
This gives U20 Rin another tool for controlling the ball and creating space instead of relying entirely on his shooting abilities.
U20 Rin Awakening Moveset
The awakening is where things get more interesting.
The current awakening kit includes three abilities, although not all of their final functionality is available yet.
Kill.
Key: C — On Ball
Kill. is currently the main awakening ability available for Rin.
It’s also one of the abilities that highlights the more destructive identity of the reworked U20 version.
Two Steps Behind
Key: V — On Ball
Two Steps Behind is part of the awakening moveset, but its shot functionality will be added later.
So if the ability doesn’t behave exactly like you expected from the final version, that’s intentional. The developers have confirmed that the shot is still coming.
Center of Gravity
Key: B — On Ball
Center of Gravity is another planned awakening ability.
Like Two Steps Behind, its complete functionality is still being worked on and will be added later.
Rin Awakening Is Still Being Fixed
One important thing to keep in mind is that the awakening isn’t considered completely finished yet.
The developers said that major fixes to Rin’s awakening would be pushed later the same day. The problems were reportedly caused by a Roblox issue, rather than the intended design of the character.
So the current version shouldn’t necessarily be treated as the final U20 Rin awakening.
If you’re testing him right after the update, expect some changes once those fixes go live.
Full VFX and Animation Rework
U20 Rin didn’t just receive new abilities.
The update also gives him a full VFX and animation rework, making the character look considerably different when using his new kit.
This is especially noticeable during his awakening abilities, where the visual effects are designed around Rin’s destructive theme.
Blue Lock Rivals Limited Shop
The update also adds several Rin-related items to the Limited Shop.
Here’s what’s available:
| Item | Type |
|---|---|
| Puppeteer | Emote |
| Destroyer Eyes | Cosmetic |
| Phantom Rin | Playercard |
| Omnipotent GE | Limited item |
If you’re collecting Rin cosmetics, this is one of the updates worth checking the shop for before the items rotate out.
Rin Bundle
A dedicated Rin Bundle is also available with the update.
If you’re specifically building a Rin-themed setup, the bundle is another option alongside the individual Limited Shop items.
New Blue Lock Rivals Codes
Several codes were released alongside the U20 Rin rework.
| Code | Rewards |
|---|---|

How to Redeem the Codes
Once the server has migrated to the updated version:
- Launch Blue Lock: Rivals.
- Enter the game.
- Look for the Codes option.
- Enter one of the codes from the table above.
- Confirm the code to claim your rewards.
The codes are tied to the updated server, so they may not work until the server migration is complete.
The biggest change is that Rin now has a much more distinct identity instead of simply being a small variation of his previous kit.
The base moveset has been completely changed, while the awakening is being rebuilt with additional abilities planned for later. On top of that, the VFX and animations have been reworked to match the new version.
The only catch is that the awakening isn’t fully finished yet. Once the remaining fixes and abilities are added, U20 Rin should give a much better idea of what the developers actually intended for the character.
For now, if you own Rin, it’s definitely worth jumping into a few matches and getting used to the new moves before the remaining awakening changes arrive.
