If you’re the type of player who usually rushes through the main story, it’s easy to overlook the Templar Hunts in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. I almost did the same thing. They seem like optional side quests at first, but they end up rewarding you with some of the most valuable collectables and equipment in the game.
Besides adding more story content, every Templar Hunt brings you one step closer to unlocking the legendary Templar Armor, and if you’re chasing achievements, you’ll also need to complete at least one questline.
This guide covers every Templar Hunt, how to unlock them, and the rewards you’ll receive along the way.
How to Unlock Templar Hunts
Templar Hunts become available after completing the main story mission:
Sequence 04 – This Old Cove
Once you’ve finished this mission, all available Templar Hunt questlines will automatically appear in your Quest Log.
You can complete them in any order, so there’s no need to worry about permanently missing any of them.
All Templar Hunts
There are four Templar Hunt questlines available throughout the Caribbean.
Each one introduces a different ally, sends you across multiple locations, and rewards you with a valuable Templar Key once completed.
Upton Travers Templar Hunt

- Jing Lang
The Upton Travers questline takes you across several locations while investigating two separate assassination targets.
Like the other Templar Hunts, it mixes exploration, stealth, and combat, making it one of the longer optional questlines available.
Completing the entire storyline rewards you with one Templar Key.
Rhona Dinsmore Templar Hunt

Dry Tortuga

- Hillary Flint
If you’re only planning to complete one Templar Hunt for the Help a Brother Out Trophy or Achievement, this is the one I’d recommend.
It’s the shortest and quickest questline, making it ideal for players who simply want the achievement without investing too much extra time.
You’ll also receive another Templar Key after finishing it.
Anto Templar Hunt

The Anto questline sends you after Kenneth Abraham through a series of investigations and missions spread across the Caribbean.
While it takes longer than Rhona Dinsmore’s storyline, it’s still well worth completing if you’re aiming to unlock every reward.
Finishing the hunt grants another Templar Key.
Opia Apito Templar Hunt

The Opia Apito storyline is particularly rewarding because several useful combat items become available while progressing through it.
One notable reward is the Rabbit’s Foot Trinket, earned early in the questline, which increases the chance of staggering enemies after a successful parry.
Like every other hunt, completing the full storyline awards a Templar Key.

The biggest reward for completing these questlines is collecting Templar Keys.
Each completed hunt rewards one key.
How to Get All Five Templar Keys
Although there are only four optional Templar Hunts, you’ll eventually collect five Templar Keys.

The first key is automatically earned during the main campaign, so you only need to finish all four optional hunts to complete the collection.
How to Unlock the Templar Armor
Once you’ve collected all five Templar Keys, head back to the Manor at Great Inagua.
Inside the Manor is a locked cage containing the legendary Templar Armor.
With all five keys in your inventory, you’ll finally be able to open it and claim the reward.
If you’re aiming for 100% completion, this is one of the most satisfying milestones in the game.
Help a Brother Out Trophy / Achievement
If your goal is simply unlocking the Help a Brother Out Trophy or Achievement, you don’t need to complete every hunt.
Finishing any one Templar Hunt questline is enough.
That said, I strongly recommend choosing Rhona Dinsmore’s storyline since it’s generally the fastest to finish.
If you plan on unlocking the Templar Armor later anyway, you’ll eventually need to complete all four hunts regardless.
Are Templar Hunts Missable?
No.
Every Templar Hunt remains available after unlocking them through This Old Cove, and none of the rewards become permanently unavailable.
You can safely return to them at any point during or after the main story.
The Templar Hunts are some of the best optional content in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. They blend exploration, stealth, and combat while offering meaningful rewards that remain useful long after the main story ends. If you’re only chasing the Help a Brother Out Trophy, Rhona Dinsmore is the quickest choice. But if you’re working toward full completion, taking the time to finish all four questlines is well worth it for the Templar Keys, legendary armor, and additional gameplay they unlock.
