Anime Overseer is shaping up to be one of the most interesting anime-themed Roblox games this year. While the early access version was only available to testers and content creators, it already showed off a surprising amount of content, from dozens of collectible units to unique progression systems that go beyond the usual anime defense formula.

After looking through everything available in the early build, it’s clear that Anime Overseer isn’t trying to copy every other anime game. Sure, you’ll still summon characters and grind stages, but there are several mechanics that completely change how you build your team.

If you’re planning to jump in once the game officially launches, this guide will walk you through everything worth knowing without overwhelming you with unnecessary information.

Anime Overseer Beginner Guide – Wiki, Trello, Traits

Anime Overseer is a Roblox anime strategy game where you collect characters inspired by popular anime series, upgrade them, and use them to clear Story stages, Raids, Infinite Mode, and other challenges.

Instead of using the original anime names, most characters are renamed or slightly redesigned, but it’s pretty easy to recognize who’s who once you’ve played for a few minutes.

During the early access build, characters from series like:

  • Dragon Ball
  • Naruto
  • Demon Slayer
  • One Piece
  • Bleach
  • Hunter x Hunter
  • JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
  • Frieren
  • Chainsaw Man
  • Jujutsu Kaisen
  • One Punch Man

could already be found.

Expect even more universes to be added after release.

Character Rarities

Like most anime Roblox games, Anime Overseer divides units into several rarity tiers.

  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary
  • Mythic

Don’t make the mistake of judging a character only by rarity.

Some fan-favorite anime characters actually appeared as Epics or even Rares during testing, meaning rarity doesn’t always reflect how strong or popular a character is.

As balance updates happen after launch, the meta will likely change quite often.

Summoning Characters

Getting new units is pretty straightforward.

Head over to the Summon section, choose the current banner, and start rolling.

The summon animation is flashy, with planets exploding and special effects depending on your pull.

One thing I immediately liked is that duplicate characters aren’t completely useless.

Instead of just sitting in your inventory forever, they become useful later for upgrades and evolution.

So even if you don’t pull a Mythic every time, your summons still have value.

Traits Can Completely Change a Character

This is probably one of the biggest progression systems in Anime Overseer.

Every character can roll different Traits.

Some increase:

  • Damage
  • Health
  • Attack Speed
  • Movement Speed
  • Overall stats

The best Trait shown during testing was Overseer.

It massively boosts almost every important stat, making it one of the rarest and strongest Traits currently available.

Thankfully, rerolling Traits is simple.

Select your character.

Use Trait Rolls.

Enable Auto Roll if you have enough resources.

Wait until the Trait you want appears.

If you’ve played Anime Rangers X, Anime Vanguards, Anime Last Stand, or Anime Adventures before, this system will feel familiar.

Team Specialization is One of the Coolest Features

This was honestly one of the biggest surprises.

Instead of every unit following the exact same rules, Anime Overseer lets you customize how your team behaves.

For example, you can lower a unit’s deployment cost.

The trade-off?

Its cooldown becomes longer.

Or you can reduce cooldowns while increasing deployment cost.

This creates interesting choices.

A weaker early-game character becomes much stronger if you can deploy them almost immediately.

Meanwhile, expensive Mythics can be adjusted so they reach the battlefield much earlier than usual.

I really like this mechanic because it gives players multiple ways to build teams instead of everyone using identical setups.

Character Stats Have Their Own Ranking

Besides Traits, every character also has stat quality.

Instead of traditional grades like SS or SSS, Anime Overseer uses rankings that go all the way to Z.

The higher the stat grade, the better your character performs.

You can reroll these stats as well until you get stronger values.

Since reroll materials aren’t unlimited, I’d recommend saving them for Mythic or your favorite Legendary units.

Character Evolution

Evolution works similarly to other anime games but with its own resource requirements.

To evolve a character, you’ll generally need:

  • Duplicate units
  • Gold
  • Evolution materials
  • Special drops

Some characters require masks.

Others require anime-specific items.

Certain evolutions are much easier than others depending on the materials involved.

If you’re planning long-term progression, don’t sell every duplicate you obtain.

You’ll probably regret it later.

Increasing Maximum Level

This might be my favorite progression system in the game.

Normally, once a character reaches its level cap, that’s it.

Anime Overseer introduces a Max Level Increase system.

Instead of simply leveling a character once, you can actually increase its maximum level and continue making it stronger.

It adds another layer of progression beyond normal leveling and evolution.

The downside is obvious though.

Building multiple endgame characters will require a lot more farming.

Still, it gives players something meaningful to grind for instead of stopping once a unit reaches max level.

Useful Shops

There are multiple shops you’ll visit regularly.

Gold Shop

The standard shop where you’ll spend Gold on useful consumables and food items.

Always check it whenever you have extra currency.

Raid Shop

Raid currency can be exchanged for valuable upgrade materials.

Some of the items shown during testing included special evolution materials, Blood items, Fingers, and several enhancement resources.

If you’re farming Raids regularly, this shop will become one of your main progression sources.

Battle Pass

Anime Overseer includes both free and premium Battle Pass rewards.

The free track offers:

  • Gold
  • Upgrade resources
  • Summon materials
  • Various progression items

The premium side naturally contains much better rewards, including exclusive characters.

One featured reward shown during testing unlocked around Battle Pass Level 25.

Even if you don’t plan on buying Premium, the free rewards are still worth collecting.

Daily Quests and Missions

Daily missions reward consistent play.

You’ll complete objectives such as:

  • Clearing stages
  • Winning waves
  • Spending resources
  • Playing different game modes

The rewards include upgrade materials and other useful progression items.

It’s one of those systems you shouldn’t ignore because the rewards quickly add up over time.

Level Rewards

Every account level unlocks additional rewards.

Milestone levels continue well into the higher levels, with rewards appearing around:

  • Level 40
  • Level 45
  • Level 50
  • Level 70
  • Level 75

If you’re actively grinding Story and Infinite Mode, these rewards come naturally without requiring extra effort.

Story Mode

Story Mode is where most players will spend their first several hours.

Each world is based on a different anime universe.

Early worlds shown included:

Dragon Ball World

The Dragon Ball storyline ends with Frieza as one of the major bosses.

It’s the perfect starting area for beginners.

Demon Slayer World

Fight through Demon Slayer-inspired stages before reaching powerful Upper Moon enemies and other familiar bosses.

Higher difficulties unlock additional farming opportunities.

Naruto World

Naruto-themed stages feature familiar locations, enemies, and upgrade drops for Naruto-inspired characters.

Raids

Raids introduce tougher enemies with exclusive rewards.

Completing Raid content earns unique currencies used inside the Raid Shop.

Many important evolution materials appear to come from Raids, so don’t skip them once they’re unlocked.

Infinite Mode

Infinite Mode lets you push through wave after wave while collecting special rewards.

Besides testing your strongest team, it’s also one of the better places to farm certain upgrade materials.

The farther you survive, the better your rewards become.

Combat Feels Different From Traditional Tower Defense Games

One thing that immediately stood out during gameplay is how active the units feel.

Instead of placing towers that remain stationary forever, your characters actually move toward enemies and fight them directly.

It makes battles feel much more alive compared to standard tower defense games.

Watching characters rush across the battlefield creates a much more anime-like experience.

It’s a small difference, but it really changes how combat feels.

Even though the version shown was still in early access, Anime Overseer already has a surprising amount of depth.

The Trait system is familiar but enjoyable, the Team Specialization mechanic adds real strategy, and the Max Level Increase feature gives players another reason to keep grinding long after reaching max level.

Personally, the moving combat and flexible team-building options were what stood out the most. Instead of every player running the exact same setup, it feels like you’ll actually have room to experiment with different builds depending on the content you’re tackling.

Of course, things can still change before the official release, but if the launch version keeps these systems intact while adding more characters, worlds, and events, Anime Overseer has a good chance of becoming one of the more addictive anime Roblox experiences this year.
