The Star Pass update has changed the value of several 7-star units in All Star Tower Defense. Some older units have received changes, while the addition of the Legacy Shop makes previously limited Star Pass units obtainable again.
Because more 7-stars are now accessible, choosing which one to get first is more important than simply looking at their damage numbers.
All Star Tower Defense 7-Star Progression Tier List (Star Pass)
This tier list ranks the 7-stars based on progression value: how useful they are to your account, how often you can use them, and whether they are worth spending your resources on.
The tiers are:
- Must Have – Prioritize these units.
- Should Have – Very strong choices for most accounts.
- Can Have – Useful, but there are usually better options.
- Might Have – Niche or outdated.
- Don’t Have – Not recommended unless you’re collecting them.
S-Tier: Must-Have 7-Stars
Homer
Homer is one of the strongest overall choices and should be near the top of your priority list.
She combines damage with a huge amount of utility, including Time Stop, displacement and rewind. She also has full AoE coverage and eight placements, making her extremely flexible.
Because she can contribute in so many different situations, Homer is one of the best 7-stars to build your progression around.
Mochi
Mochi is another top priority.
He’s one of the older 7-stars that has managed to remain extremely useful, and you’ll likely bring him into a large number of different modes. His overall usefulness makes him one of the safest units to prioritize.
If you don’t have Mochi yet, getting him should be high on your list.
T-Boy
T-Boy is another must-have 7-star thanks to his extremely high damage potential.
Newer units generally outperform older characters in raw DPS, but T-Boy remains strong enough to justify a top-tier placement.
Salt King
Salt King is a top-tier option, particularly because of his utility.
His exact value depends on the mode you’re playing. He can be especially valuable in raids, while other units may be preferable for certain Infinite or Gauntlet setups.
Omega Shenron
Omega Shenron is one of the newer high-value options and is considerably stronger than many of the older 7-stars.
His damage and overall performance make him a strong investment for players working toward a modern 7-star lineup.
Gogeta
Gogeta is another excellent choice and has become much more valuable compared with older 7-stars.
He’s particularly useful for raids and can be used alongside other strong units because of his relatively manageable cost.
Eizen
Eizen also belongs in the Must Have group among the strongest modern 7-stars.
The newer 7-stars have generally pushed older DPS characters down the rankings, so if you’re choosing between an outdated unit and one of these newer options, prioritize the newer meta units.
A-Tier: Should-Have 7-Stars
Almighty
Almighty can be an excellent choice depending on his buff value.
His AoE coverage and team buff make him particularly attractive if his buff reaches the higher value mentioned in the video. If you’re building around support and team-wide utility, he’s worth considering.
Legendary
Legendary is another strong utility-focused option.
He can summon minions and provides an Ultimate Time Stop, while also having Black Burn and a health-bar-cutting ability. His reusable Time Stop gives him an advantage over some older utility units.
Joe Kid
Joe Kid is a strong rewind option.
His rewind is relatively reliable and doesn’t require you to die first, which makes him useful in situations where controlling the run is important.
Newer units haven’t completely replaced him yet, although there are cheaper 6-star alternatives available.
High-DPS Unit
There are also several newer 7-stars that provide very high DPS but come with drawbacks such as consuming other units. These can still be worth having if you’re specifically building for damage-heavy content.
B-Tier: Can-Have 7-Stars
Broly
Broly is still usable, but he has been pushed down by newer 7-stars.
As a general rule, newer characters tend to outperform older characters that haven’t received significant buffs. Broly can still contribute damage, but he shouldn’t be your first priority.
Buu
Buu has some useful applications, particularly in certain category raids.
His base healing and Time Stop can make some raid content significantly easier, including situations where he can help you solo content without much difficulty.
He’s a good unit to have, but not necessarily the first 7-star you should chase.
Eizen’s Older Alternatives
Older DPS-focused units such as Gohan, Vegeta and Ruffy are still functional, but their damage has fallen behind newer characters.
They can fill gaps in your roster if you don’t have better options, but they aren’t the best use of your resources if you’re starting from scratch.
Falcon
Falcon is mostly useful if you don’t have Mochi.
Since Mochi is generally preferred, Falcon becomes much less important once you have access to the stronger option.
Tangero
Tangero is notable because he’s the only 7-star with Sunburn, but that doesn’t automatically make him a priority.
Sunburn doesn’t stack with Wax Low, reducing his usefulness in teams that already use that effect.
Perfect Insect
Perfect Insect is a solid free-to-play-friendly DPS option.
He can reach roughly 20 million damage with four upgrades, making him respectable for a unit that doesn’t require you to rely on banner pulls.
He’s especially worth considering for challenge runs where having accessible damage options matters.
Ailia
Ailia is essentially a weaker version of some stronger units, but she’s beginner-friendly.
If you don’t have the stronger alternatives yet, she can still help you progress.
Naruto and Sasuke
Naruto and Sasuke can be worthwhile if you already have the required orbs.
Sasuke provides Black Flame, and the pair can eventually help you obtain Beast. Without the necessary resources, however, they’re much less attractive as a first priority.
Star King
Star King is a decent option because Electric-type units aren’t especially common.
His DPS is respectable if you lack stronger choices, making him a useful filler option for developing accounts.
Alien Bosses
Alien Bosses can provide decent DPS, but they’re not essential when stronger modern options are available.
Beast Summoner
Beast Summoner can be worth getting if you already have the required orbs.
The investment makes more sense for players who can immediately complete the setup rather than those starting from zero.
Gojo
Gojo remains usable, but Homer generally provides more utility and coverage.
Gojo can still work in Gauntlet and other content, but he’s not the first choice when you have access to stronger modern units.
Old
Old can be useful specifically for AoE Burn.
That niche can make him worthwhile for certain teams, although his overall priority is lower than the current meta units.
Umbra
Umbra received a damage buff, but her overall DPS still isn’t impressive compared with newer 7-stars.
She’s usable, but there’s little reason to prioritize her over the stronger options.
Goku
Goku offers AoE DPS and a nuke, making him a decent general-purpose option.
He’s useful if your account lacks stronger damage dealers, but he’s no longer among the highest-priority 7-stars.
Founder
Founder summons minions that can contribute to your damage.
The minions are decent, but stronger options have largely replaced him.
Aaron
Aaron provides full AoE and early placement for Nature-type content.
He’s useful for specific situations but isn’t a priority compared with the current meta 7-stars.
Gilgamish
Gilgamish has fallen behind considerably because of newer units.
He can still function, but his outdated performance makes him a lower-priority investment.
C-Tier: Might-Have 7-Stars
Devils
Devils is outdated compared with newer utility units.
His ability to send units back can still be useful, but other characters now offer similar or better utility.
Ichigo
Ichigo is mainly useful for Air Mode.
Since his usefulness is so limited, he isn’t a high-priority progression choice.
Cooler
Cooler used to be useful for early-game progression, but newer options have reduced his value.
He’s cheap, but there are better starter choices available now.
Deku
Deku has good utility, but his overall progression value is limited compared with stronger options.
He’s more of a niche choice than a priority unit.
Lucy
Lucy shares a cooldown with Homer, which makes Homer the much more attractive option.
If you already have Homer, there is little reason to prioritize Lucy.
Da
Da provides elemental utility, but several 6-star units can perform similar functions.
That makes him difficult to recommend as a major 7-star investment.
Zoro
Zoro can provide Bleed through placement, but his overall performance is too limited to justify a high priority.
Don’t-Have Tier
Some 7-stars are simply not worth pursuing unless you’re collecting them or need them for the Index.
Ultra Goku and Vegeta
These units have fallen far behind the current meta.
Their main reason for obtaining them is collection or Index completion rather than actual progression.
Ombre
Ombre was significantly affected by changes to his kit, particularly the removal of the nuke that made him attractive previously.
His upgraded rates don’t compensate enough for the loss, making him a poor investment.
Butchered Mob
Butchered Mob also lost much of his appeal after losing his nuke.
His previous large nuke is no longer competitive with the damage offered by newer units such as Gohan and T-Boy.
Vigu Blue
Vigu Blue is another low-priority choice.
He’s mainly useful as a step toward other units, but the resulting units aren’t strong enough to justify making him a major progression target.
Death
Death is essentially a collectible at this point and isn’t something most players can simply pursue as a normal progression option.
Best 7-Stars to Get First
If you’re starting to build your 7-star collection through the Star Pass and Legacy Shop, the biggest priorities are the modern meta units.
A general progression priority would be:
- Homer
- Mochi
- T-Boy
- Salt King
- Omega Shenron
- Gogeta
- Eizen
- Legendary
- Almighty
- Joe Kid
The exact order can change depending on whether you’re focused on Raids, Infinite Mode, Gauntlet, challenge runs, or general progression.
Which 7-Star Should You Get?
For most players, Homer is the safest overall pick because of how much utility she provides alongside her damage. Her Time Stop, displacement, rewind, AoE coverage and high placement limit make her useful across a wide range of content.
Mochi is another extremely safe investment because you’ll find reasons to use him in many different teams.
For players focused heavily on damage, T-Boy, Omega Shenron and Gogeta are strong choices. For raid-focused players, Gogeta and Salt King become particularly attractive.
The main thing to remember is that this is a progression tier list, not simply a damage ranking. A unit that does slightly less damage can still be a better investment if it provides utility that you can use across multiple game modes.
