The brand-new Necromancer Class has arrived in 100 Days at Sea, giving us a completely different way to fight enemies. Instead of relying only on powerful weapons or mobility abilities, this class lets you summon the dead and have skeletons fight alongside you.

The Necromancer starts with its own Necromancer Staff, which has both a summoning ability and a lightning attack. We tested the class against different enemies and explored how well the summoned skeletons actually perform during combat.

In this post, I’ll go over everything I found while testing the Necromancer Class, including how the summoning ability works, how much damage the skeletons and lightning can deal, the class’s biggest problems, and whether I think it is worth its price.

Necromancer Class Starting Weapon

When you enter the game with the Necromancer Class equipped, you start with the Necromancer Staff.

The staff allows you to summon the dead, and these summoned skeletons will fight enemies for you. As you level up the class, the cooldown between summons is reduced, allowing you to use the summoning ability more frequently.

The staff also has another attack that lets you shoot lightning at enemies, so you aren’t completely dependent on your skeleton summons during combat.

How to Summon Skeletons

To use the summoning ability, you need to press Q while using the Necromancer Staff.

This spawns a skeleton that follows you around and attacks enemies. Honestly, the summoned skeleton looks pretty goofy, but the idea behind the ability is still interesting.

One thing I wanted to test was whether the skeleton would stay behind when we moved away.

Fortunately, it actually teleports back to you.

So, if you move too far away from your summoned skeleton, it can teleport to your location instead of being permanently left behind. This makes the ability much more convenient when you’re moving around different islands.

Testing the Skeleton Against Fishermen

I first tested the summoned skeleton on the starting Fisherman Island.

The fishermen don’t have much health, so they were fairly easy to defeat. The skeleton was able to kill them in around two shots.

However, there is one major problem with the summons.

The enemies don’t appear to target the skeletons. Instead, they continue chasing and attacking you. This means your summoned skeletons don’t really work as proper tanks that can distract enemies while you stay safe.

They can help deal damage, but you’re still the main target during the fight.

How Much Damage Does the Skeleton Deal?

I also tested the skeleton against stronger enemies around the Radio Tower.

Against these enemies, one skeleton took around four shots to defeat a single enemy.

So, the summons can definitely deal damage, but they aren’t particularly fast at killing enemies.

Their movement speed also makes things more difficult. The skeletons move slowly and can take a while to reach enemies, meaning you might already defeat the target yourself before your summon has a chance to do much.

Necromancer Staff Lightning Ability

The Necromancer Staff also comes with a lightning attack.

You can use the staff to fire lightning at enemies from a good distance, which gives the class some useful ranged combat options.

From testing the ability, it looks like the lightning can deal decent damage. At higher levels, it may even be possible to defeat some enemies in around two shots.

The attack also has good range, which makes it one of the better parts of the Necromancer Class.

In terms of damage and ranged combat, the class can feel somewhat similar to the Alien Overlord Class. However, there is one major difference that makes the Alien Overlord much stronger overall.

Necromancer vs Alien Overlord

The Necromancer Class has decent ranged damage, but it doesn’t have the same mobility as the Alien Overlord.

The Alien Overlord has access to the UFO, making it much easier to move around the map.

With the Necromancer Class, you don’t get anything similar for mobility.

This means you’re more dependent on boats or other players when traveling around the game. If you need to move quickly between locations, this can become a major disadvantage.

Because of that, I personally think the Alien Overlord is the better option if you’re looking for a strong class that combines combat power with mobility.

Skeletons Are Slow and Can Get Stuck

One of the biggest problems I noticed while testing the Necromancer Class was how slow the skeletons are.

They don’t move around very quickly, which already makes them less effective during fast-paced fights.

On top of that, they can also get stuck on parts of the map.

For example, when I arrived at the Oil Rig, some of the skeletons ended up getting stuck underneath it. Meanwhile, the enemies were chasing me while the summoned skeletons were basically unable to help.

This is probably the biggest weakness of the class right now.

The idea of summoning an army of skeletons sounds great, but in actual gameplay, they don’t always keep up with you or reach the enemies quickly enough.

Enemies Do Not Target Your Skeletons

Another issue is that enemies appear to focus entirely on the player.

Even when your skeletons are nearby, enemies will still chase you instead of attacking the summons.

Personally, I think the class would be much better if the skeletons had their own health and enemies could target them.

That would make the summoned skeletons useful as distractions and give the Necromancer a more unique playstyle.

Right now, they mostly feel like slow extra damage rather than actual companions that can protect you during combat.

You Can Only Have Three Skeletons

There is also a limit to how many summoned skeletons you can have at one time.

You can summon up to three skeletons at once.

If you try to summon more, one of the existing skeletons will disappear.

So, you can’t build an unlimited army of undead enemies. The maximum appears to be three active summons at any given time.

This makes the class more manageable, but it also means you shouldn’t expect to overwhelm enemies with a massive group of skeletons.

Is the Necromancer Class Worth 1,900 Robux?

Personally, I don’t think the Necromancer Class is worth 1,900 Robux if you’re looking for your main class.

The concept is fun, and summoning skeletons is definitely something different from the other classes in 100 Days at Sea. However, the actual combat performance isn’t impressive enough for me to recommend it over some of the stronger options.

The skeletons are slow, can get stuck, and enemies don’t target them. You can also only have three active skeletons at a time.

The lightning attack is decent and has good range, but the overall class still feels weaker than classes such as the Alien Overlord.

Should You Buy the Necromancer Class?

If you already own strong classes and simply want something new to play around with, then the Necromancer can be a fun choice.

You can also purchase it using Pearls, so that may make it more appealing depending on what resources you have available.

However, if you’re still looking for your first strong main class, I would personally recommend going for something like the Alien Overlord or Chaos Master instead.

Those classes offer stronger overall gameplay and can be more useful for progressing through the game.

The Necromancer is better suited for players who already have good classes and just want to try a different playstyle.

Final Thoughts

The Necromancer Class is a cool addition to 100 Days at Sea, especially because summoning skeletons gives us a completely different combat experience.

The Necromancer Staff has decent ranged lightning damage, and it’s useful that the summoned skeletons can teleport back to you when you move away.

However, the skeletons are currently too slow, can get stuck around the map, and don’t attract enemy attention. This makes them less useful than they could potentially be.

So, while I think the Necromancer Class is fun to use, I wouldn’t recommend it as your main class if you don’t already own stronger options. But if you already have classes like Alien Overlord or Chaos Master and just want something different to experiment with, the Necromancer can still be worth trying.
