Run a Dance Studio is a Roblox game where we get to build and manage our own dance studio, recruit dancers, hire teachers, create routines, design costumes, and compete against other studios. When you first start, there are quite a few different menus and options, so it can feel a little confusing.

Run a Dance Studio Guide – Dance Studio, How to Play
When you first enter Run a Dance Studio, you will need to create your studio.
The first thing you can do is choose a name for it. You can name your studio whatever you want, so feel free to make something unique.
After choosing the name, you can start selecting the overall theme and appearance of your studio.
You can customize things such as:
- Floor colors
- Wall colors
- Signage colors
- The overall studio theme
For example, I went with a simple combination of white floors, black walls, and blue signage. It gave the studio a modern look, but there really isn’t one perfect design.
At the start, I would recommend choosing something you like rather than worrying too much about the appearance. You can focus on making the studio look better as you progress and unlock more options.
Choosing Studio Gear and Clothing
After creating your studio, you can choose some of the gear and clothing that your dancers will use.
The game lets you pick different clothing pieces to create your dancers’ outfits.
You can mix different items together, including things like:
- Crop tanks
- Bows and accessories
- Joggers
- Other clothing options
You can choose one of each item to create a full outfit for your dancers.
At this point, you don’t need to spend too much time trying to create the perfect costume. You can always visit the wardrobe and designer later to customize your dancers even further.
Getting Your First Dancers
Once your studio is ready, one of the most important things you need to do is get dancers.
Your dancers are obviously the main part of your studio. Without dancers, you won’t be able to properly create routines or take full advantage of competitions.
You can go into the dancer section and assign dancers to your studio.
As you get more dancers, make sure they are actually enrolled and assigned correctly.
The more active dancers you have in your studio, the better your studio can perform and the more progress you can make.
Don’t Forget to Get Teachers
Dancers aren’t the only thing you need.
You also need teachers.
Go to the teacher section and make sure you assign teachers to your dancers and students. Your studio needs both dancers and teachers working together.
When you’re starting out, it is easy to focus only on collecting dancers, but don’t forget to check whether your studio has enough teachers.
Keeping your dancers properly enrolled and your teachers assigned is an important part of building up your studio.
How to Customize Costumes
You can visit the wardrobe and open the designer to customize your dancers’ costumes.
This lets you change things like the colors and overall appearance of the clothing.
For example, I decided to use a blue and white color combination for my dancers.
Once you create a design you like, you can save it and purchase the costume.
After that, you can assign the costume to your dancers so everyone is wearing the same design.
Having matching costumes is especially useful when you’re preparing dancers for a competition.
How to Create a Dance Routine
Creating routines is one of the biggest parts of Run a Dance Studio.
You can create a new routine and give it a name. Depending on what you want to do, you can create either a solo routine or a group routine.
You can also choose the music for the performance.
After selecting your dancers and music, you can start placing your dancers into position.
The routine editor includes a timeline where you can organize your dance moves.
You can:
- Select different movements
- Drag moves across the timeline
- Change the order of movements
- Record movements
- Create longer or shorter routines
You can experiment with different combinations until you find something that looks good.
Honestly, you don’t need to overthink your first routine. Just try different moves and see how they look together.
Sometimes even randomly combining a few movements can create a surprisingly good-looking dance.
Creating a Group Dance
When you have multiple dancers, you can create a group routine.
For example, if you have six dancers enrolled, you can place all of them into the routine and create a full group performance.
You can choose how long you want the routine to be and then start recording different movements.
During my testing, I created a routine that was around 29 seconds long and experimented with different moves.
At first, I was just trying random movements, but the final dance actually looked pretty decent.
So don’t be afraid to experiment.
Try different combinations, watch how your dancers perform the routine, and then save it when you’re happy with the result.
Save Your Routines
Once you create a routine that you like, make sure you save it.
You can then use that routine when entering competitions.
This is important because competitions require you to select your routine, dancers, and costumes before joining.
Having a routine ready in advance makes it much easier to quickly enter competitions when they become available.
Competitions Are Important for Earning Coins
Competitions are one of the best things you should focus on while playing Run a Dance Studio.
New competitions appear regularly, so make sure you check for them whenever you’re playing.
You should try to enter as many competitions as possible.
Even if you don’t win, participating can still help you earn coins.
This makes competitions one of the best ways to start building your money and progressing faster.
Before entering, make sure you have:
- A completed dance routine
- Dancers selected
- Costumes ready
- Your group properly prepared
Once everything is ready, you can click on the competition and enroll your dancers.
How to Enter a Competition
Entering a competition is fairly simple once you have everything prepared.
First, select the competition you want to join.
Then choose your routine.
After that, select the dancers you want to participate.
You can also choose the costume they will wear during the performance.
Once everything is selected, confirm your choices and enter the competition.
If you’re new to the game, you can also spectate competitions first.
Watching other players can give you an idea of how competitions work and may even give you inspiration for your own studio and routines.
Claim Your Daily Quests
One thing you definitely shouldn’t forget is your daily quests.
Make sure you regularly check the quest section and claim your completed rewards.
Daily quests can give you useful rewards, including free gold and other bonuses.
During my gameplay, I was also able to get a dancer from one of the rewards.
These rewards can make a big difference when you’re just starting because getting extra dancers and free currency helps you grow without spending your resources.
So whenever you log in, one of the first things you should do is check your quests.
Claim Your Daily Rewards
Along with quests, make sure you claim your daily rewards.
Free rewards are one of the easiest ways to get extra resources while playing.
Sometimes you can receive useful rewards such as dancers or other bonuses that can help your studio grow.
It only takes a few seconds to check and claim them, so there is no reason to leave free rewards behind.
How to Expand Your Studio
As you start earning more money, you should begin expanding your studio.
Your starting studio is fairly small, and while it works for your first dancers, you will eventually want a larger space with more equipment.
Expanding your studio can help you continue growing and earning more money.
You can also customize your studio however you want.
If you’re looking for ideas, you can even check out other players’ studios for inspiration.
When I looked at another studio, the layout was similar, but they had a much bigger room and significantly more equipment.
That is something worth remembering when you’re planning your upgrades.
Add More Equipment
One of the best ways to improve your studio is by adding more equipment.
As soon as you have enough money, start looking at what equipment you can purchase.
A larger studio with more equipment can help you continue progressing and improve the overall setup of your dance school.
Of course, don’t spend all your money immediately.
Try to balance your spending between expanding your studio, getting dancers, and buying useful equipment.
But once you can afford upgrades, adding more equipment should definitely be part of your progression plan.
Enroll All of Your Dancers
Make sure you check your studio regularly to see whether all of your dancers are enrolled.
You want as many active dancers as possible.
For example, after enrolling all six of my dancers, the studio was making around 150 gold per minute.
Having all your dancers properly assigned can help you maximize the money your studio generates.
If you get a new dancer, don’t forget to check whether they need to be enrolled or assigned.
It’s a small thing, but forgetting to do this can slow down your progress.
How to Make Coins Faster
If you want to earn coins quickly, competitions should be one of your main priorities.
Creating a good routine, choosing your dancers, and entering competitions regularly can help you earn currency much faster.
Here are some things I recommend doing:
Complete Competitions Whenever Possible
Try to join competitions whenever you see one available.
Even if you don’t win every time, participating can still help you earn rewards.
Keep a Routine Ready
Don’t wait until a competition appears before creating your dance.
Keep at least one completed routine ready so you can quickly enter.
Use Multiple Dancers
Group performances let you use more of your dancers.
If you have several dancers available, make sure you’re taking advantage of them.
Complete Daily Quests
Daily quests can give you free rewards and currency, so claim them regularly.
Keep Expanding Your Studio
A bigger studio with more equipment can help you continue progressing.
Run a Dance Studio is a pretty fun Roblox management game once you understand the basics. You start with a small studio, but over time you can recruit more dancers, hire teachers, create better routines, customize costumes, expand your rooms, and compete against other players.
