If you’ve been waiting for a proper competitive mode in Dokkodo, Update 0.5 finally delivers it. While the patch itself isn’t massive, it introduces one feature that completely changes how PvP works—the new Arena game mode.
Instead of fighting random battles in the open world, players can now queue for structured matches, climb a ranking system, and earn exclusive rewards. I honestly think this is the kind of update that gives players a reason to keep coming back, especially if you enjoy testing your skills against others.
Here’s everything included in the Dokkodo Update 0.5.
Arena Game Mode Is Now Available
The biggest addition in Update 0.5 is the new Arena, which serves as Dokkodo’s ranked PvP mode.
Players can queue for several different match types depending on whether they want to play solo or with friends.
Available Arena modes include:
- 1v1 Duels
- 2v2 Duos
- 3v3 Trios
Arena is accessible separately from the normal game, making it easy to jump straight into competitive matches.
Honor Ranking System Explained
Every Arena match contributes to your Honor ranking.
Think of Honor as your competitive rating. Winning matches helps you climb the leaderboard, while losses can slow your progress. If you’re aiming to become one of the top PvP players in Dokkodo, this is the system you’ll be spending most of your time in.
The game also tracks your Duel Honor, which represents your ranked progress in Arena.
Earn Ryo by Winning Matches
Alongside Honor, Arena introduces a brand-new currency called Ryo.
The primary way to earn Ryo is by winning Arena matches, although players also have the option to purchase it if they don’t want to grind.
As more Arena content gets added in future updates, Ryo will likely become one of the most valuable currencies in the game.
What Can You Buy With Ryo?
Ryo can be spent in the Arena Loadout Shop, where you’ll find several cosmetic rewards.
Current rewards include:
- Execution animations
- Emotes
- Weapon cleaning animations
- Base emotes
- Custom title unlock
The developers also confirmed that more cosmetics and unlockables will be added in future updates, so it’s worth saving up your Ryo.
How to Unlock a Custom Title
One of the most prestigious rewards in the current update is the Custom Title.
Unlocking it isn’t easy, though. You’ll need to meet all of the following requirements:
- Rank within the Top 100 players.
- Reach at least 1,000 Duel Honor.
- Collect around 50,000 Ryo.
Once unlocked, you can create your own custom title, making it one of the rarest cosmetics currently available.
Arena Match Settings Explained
Before entering a match, you’ll notice a Region Selector.
It’s a small feature, but don’t ignore it. Choosing the correct region helps reduce ping and provides a much smoother PvP experience.
Once matchmaking begins, players can customize several match settings before the fight starts.
Round Options
You can choose from multiple match formats:
- One Round
- Best of 3
- Best of 5
- Win by 2
This gives players more flexibility depending on whether they want quick fights or longer competitive sets.
Arena Challenges
Another nice addition is the ability to enable special match rules before the battle starts.
Sudden Death
With this challenge enabled, the first successful hit instantly wins the round.
It creates incredibly tense matches where every movement matters.
No Armor
This rule is designed for players looking for a more skill-focused fight.
If one player enters without armor and requests the No Armor challenge, the match will be played without armor regardless of what the opponent selected.
It’s a simple way to keep battles focused on mechanics rather than equipment advantages.
Minor Bug Fixes
Although Arena is the highlight of the update, a couple of smaller issues were also addressed.
The developers fixed:
- Spawn point saving inside the Westpoint House.
- A bug that allowed mobile and console players to run backwards.
The developers also mentioned they’ll continue improving the mobile experience in future updates, so more changes are already planned.
