Celestial Nexus is the opening chapter of A Sleepwalker’s Confession, the first main story arc introduced in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0. This quest serves as your introduction to the beautiful floating city of Roscaelifer, its residents, and several new gameplay systems that become important throughout Season 3.
Unlike combat-heavy missions, Celestial Nexus focuses heavily on exploration, world-building, character interactions, and setting up the story’s major mysteries. You’ll meet key characters such as Norma and Velina, settle into your temporary residence, explore Aurelia Academy, and uncover the first hints of the challenges awaiting you in Roscaelifer.
This guide covers everything you need to know, including how to unlock the quest, every objective, and all rewards earned upon completion.
How to Unlock Celestial Nexus
Before you can begin Celestial Nexus, you’ll need to finish the previous story content.

Complete New Eridan Sunset Part 2.
Once the epilogue concludes, the next main commission will automatically appear in your Schedule menu. Accept the commission to begin your journey to Roscaelifer.
Celestial Nexus Walkthrough
Talk to Belle
The quest begins with a conversation with Belle in front of the HDD system. During this scene, the group finalizes plans to travel to Roscaelifer.
Norma will act as your guide throughout the journey, while Billy and Cissia accompany you as fellow travelers. After the discussion ends, a cinematic sequence introduces Roscaelifer, giving players their first look at the floating city that serves as the central setting for Version 3.0.
This opening sequence is mostly story-focused, so simply enjoy the cutscene and familiarize yourself with the new environment.
Ride the Hover Bus
After arriving in Roscaelifer, follow Norma to the nearby hover bus.
During the ride, Norma introduces several important landmarks and districts within the city. Although this section doesn’t require much interaction, it’s worth paying attention to the dialogue since many of these locations become important later in the story.
The hover bus sequence also helps establish the unique atmosphere of Roscaelifer, showcasing its advanced technology and elegant architecture.
Check the Wanted Poster
Once you arrive at your destination, continue following Norma until the group stops near a wanted poster.
Examining the poster reveals information about Remielle Dan, commonly known as Ramiel. She has been designated an S-Class fugitive after allegedly attempting to assassinate Lady Sunbringer.
While this may seem like a simple story moment, it introduces one of the major mysteries that will continue developing throughout the Season 3 storyline.
Follow Norma to the New Residence
Continue following Norma through the city streets.
This portion of the quest functions as a sightseeing tour of Roscaelifer. You’ll pass various shops, public areas, and city landmarks while learning more about the region’s culture and daily life.
Take your time during this section and enjoy the scenery. Roscaelifer is one of the most detailed locations added to the game so far.
Visit Cuppa Moment
Your first major stop is Cuppa Moment, a popular local café.
Inside, you’ll encounter a Bangboo theater troupe led by Archy. The group is attempting to convince local business owners to help promote their latest performance.
However, things take an amusing turn when they notice Norma and quickly flee after referring to her as “the Witch.”
Once the commotion settles, you’ll be invited to enjoy refreshments prepared in advance by Velina.
This scene serves as a lighthearted introduction to several recurring Roscaelifer characters.
Try the Tin Master’s Tea
Walk over to the counter and speak with the Tin Master.
After accepting the offered tea, you’ll receive an Ether Battery as a reward.
Although the interaction is brief, it introduces another notable NPC who will appear throughout your stay in Roscaelifer.
Visit Roarin’ Brekkies
Next, head to Roarin’ Brekkies, located directly beside Cuppa Moment.
This bakery is run by Mr. Roar, one of the more memorable residents you’ll meet during your visit.
During your first visit, you’ll be introduced to a daily snack blind box system. Drawing from the box rewards you with collectible cards that can later be exchanged for various prizes.
The mechanic functions similarly to Howl’s Scratch Card in New Eridu or the Divination system found in Suibian Temple.
Be sure to return regularly if you’re interested in collecting all available rewards.
Settle Into Amber Hall
After leaving the bakery, proceed to Amber Hall across the street.
Amber Hall serves as your temporary residence while staying in Roscaelifer.
Inside, Velina welcomes the group and explains the cover identities you’ll be using during your stay. To avoid drawing attention, you’ll pose as transfer students attending Aurelia Academy.
This setup becomes an important part of the story moving forward.
Explore Your Room
Head upstairs and enter your assigned room.
Inside, you’ll find several familiar conveniences, including a workstation and a fully operational HDD system.
Fairy will soon reconnect with you, helping establish your new base of operations within Roscaelifer.
Before continuing, you can freely explore Amber Hall if you’d like. Several optional interactions are available:
- Meet Maggie and Shirley
- Learn more about fellow students
- Explore the basement area
- Discover a small cargo vehicle outside
While none of these interactions are mandatory, they provide additional world-building and character development.
Change Into the School Uniform
Before attending classes, you’ll need to change into the academy uniform provided by Velina.
The uniform can be found inside a box located near your bed.
Interact with it to complete the objective and officially prepare for your role as a transfer student.
Meet Everyone Outside
After changing clothes, head downstairs and leave Amber Hall.
You’ll find your companions waiting nearby.
During this scene, the group reveals that they have established a video store for you to manage while living in Roscaelifer. This effectively creates a second home base and further reinforces your integration into the city.
Belle comments on how quickly everyone is adapting to their new surroundings before the conversation concludes.
Return to Your Room and Rest
Head back to your room when prompted.
As you fall asleep, a dream sequence begins involving fragments of your past connected to Turvia and Serpico.
The dream is eventually interrupted by the sound of a distant explosion.
This marks the first major hint that things in Roscaelifer may not be as peaceful as they initially appear.
Before sleeping, you may freely explore the newly unlocked Booastrum District.
Optional NPCs available during this period include:
- Crowe from Hobling Crowe Detective Agency
- Miss Spacey from True Blues
- Violet from Administrative Affairs
- Maggie and the local Cat Cafes
Exploring now can unlock additional dialogue and lore.
Investigate the Explosion at Aurelia Academy
The next morning, use the teleport function to travel directly to Aurelia Academy.
Upon arrival, you’ll discover Norma trapped behind a malfunctioning security door.
She explains that one of her experiments accidentally caused the explosion and asks for assistance.
This section also unlocks the Universal View, Activate! achievement.
Follow Norma’s Instructions
Interact with the Universal Terminal Access system.
You’ll gain control of the facility’s camera network and must assist Norma from a distance.
The puzzle involves several simple tasks:
- Scanning Norma
- Scanning her Bangboo companion
- Switching between security cameras
- Completing a terminal access puzzle
The challenge isn’t particularly difficult, but pay attention to Norma’s instructions to avoid confusion.
Once completed, the security system unlocks and Norma is finally freed.
Enter the Basement
After opening the door, head downstairs into the academy basement.
Norma attempts to explain the situation, but the conversation is interrupted by the arrival of another character.
A cutscene introduces Sigrid, Deputy Director of the Airspace Patrol Department.
She confronts Norma regarding the incident and criticizes her for causing unnecessary trouble.
You are given the opportunity to defend Norma before Velina intervenes and helps calm the situation.
The group then begins discussing issues related to Roscaelifer’s logic cores, setting up an important plot thread for later chapters.
Cheer Up Norma
After the meeting concludes, walk up the nearby staircase to find Norma standing alone.
Speak with her and encourage her after the stressful events of the day.
During the conversation, Norma shares a surprising piece of information about Roscaelifer’s Bangboos. According to her, Bangboos sent to New Eridu have their memories erased before deployment.
This revelation adds another layer of mystery to the city’s operations and leaves several unanswered questions for future chapters.
After saying goodnight, Norma encourages you to get some rest before the next day’s events.
This conversation concludes the Celestial Nexus quest.
