The new hat reroll NPC was added in update 1.8 for Bridger Western, and thankfully he’s actually really easy to find once you know where to look.
If you’ve been trying to get a better-looking hat design or just want to reroll your current one, here’s exactly where you need to go.
Where the Hat Reroll NPC Is Located
Starting from the main city, head toward the General Store.
The NPC you’re looking for is standing right outside the building. He’s basically just hanging around near the entrance, so you really can’t miss him once you get there.
The video honestly doesn’t even mention his actual name. It’s basically just “that guy outside the General Store.”
Once you talk to him, he’ll ask:
“Would you like to change your hat design for 250 mula?”
That’s the new reroll system.
How Hat Rerolling Works
The process is super simple.
All you need to do is:
- Talk to the NPC outside the General Store.
- Pay 250 mula.
- Confirm the reroll.
- Re-equip your hat.
Once you put the hat back on, it’ll have a completely different design.
That’s honestly all there is to it.
Can You Keep Rerolling?
Yep.
You can keep paying 250 mula over and over until you finally get a hat design you actually like.
So if you’re hunting for a specific style or just trying to flex something rare-looking, you’re probably going to spend a decent amount of money here.
Luckily the reroll cost itself is pretty cheap.
The hat reroll NPC is a pretty small addition overall, but honestly it’s still a nice feature for customization.
A lot of players have probably been stuck with ugly hats for a while now, so finally being able to reroll designs whenever you want is definitely nice.
And since the NPC is literally right outside the General Store in the main town, you don’t have to travel across the map just to use the feature.
