The new Dr. Scramble’s Revenge update is here in Steal An Egg, and there is a lot of new content to check out. In this post, I’ll go through the new Scramble Laboratory, rotating eggs, new pets, the updated kill rewards, the limited-time Extinction Egg, and the new boss event.
There are also some important things to know about the new egg sacrifice system. Instead of submitting pets like the old Rift event, you now need to collect and submit specific eggs.
So, let’s go through everything you need to know about the update and how the new systems work.
Dr. Scramble’s Laboratory
The old Rift has been removed, and a new Dr. Scramble’s Laboratory has appeared in its place.
When you enter the laboratory, you’ll find three different egg types that are used for the new system. These eggs rotate every one hour, similar to how the eggs worked during the Rift event.
The three egg categories are:
- Biohazard Pets
- Experimental Pets
- Unstable DNA
Instead of adding pets to the machine, you now need to collect the required eggs and submit them.
How The New Egg Sacrifice System Works
The new system works similarly to the old Rift mechanic, but there is one major difference.
You are no longer sacrificing pets directly. Instead, you need to collect specific eggs and use them in the laboratory.
The available categories rotate every hour, meaning you need to keep checking the laboratory if you’re waiting for a specific egg.
At the time of the update, the chances shown were approximately:
- Biohazard Pets: 41%
- Experimental Pets: 36%
- Unstable DNA: 22%
Because Unstable DNA has the lowest chance of appearing, you may want to save your resources until it becomes available.
Biohazard Pets Eggs
The Biohazard Pets category contains several new pets.
The pets mentioned in the update include Nodile, which gives around 500 million per second, and Nuclear Mantis, which is an Eternal pet that gives around 1.5 billion per second.
The Nuclear Mantis was also previously shown in leaks, so you may recognize its design.
The pet images weren’t loading correctly during the update, so some of the information displayed in the UI was incomplete.
Experimental Pets
The next category is Experimental Pets.
Two of the pets shown here were:
- Able Crab — around 825 million per second
- Dread Tiger — around 2 billion per second
These are some seriously valuable pets, so the Experimental Pets category is definitely worth keeping an eye on when it rotates into the laboratory.
Unstable DNA Pets
The Unstable DNA category contains some of the strongest rewards shown in the update.
The pets mentioned include:
- Rhino Bear — Eternal, around 1 billion per second
- Octop — around 4 billion per second
The Octop is particularly interesting because it has a very high income compared with the other pets shown.
There is also a 1.5% chance mentioned for the top reward, so you may need quite a few attempts before getting the rarest result.
Save Your Eggs for Unstable DNA
If you’re trying to get the best possible rewards from the laboratory, you may want to wait for the Unstable DNA category.
The Unstable DNA option has a lower rotation chance than the other categories, but it also contains some very valuable pets.
The update showed a requirement of around 200 eggs for pity, so don’t waste all of your eggs immediately when a weaker category is available.
Instead, consider saving them until Unstable DNA appears.
New Extinction Egg
The update also added a new Extinction Egg to the shop.
This egg is available for a limited time and is expected to remain in the shop for around two weeks.
The shop has several categories, including:
- Featured
- Speed
- Mining
The Featured section contains several new pets and items associated with the Extinction Egg.
Because the egg is limited-time content, you’ll want to check the shop regularly if you’re trying to collect everything from the update.
Extinction Egg Rewards
The Featured section includes several different pets with different rarities.
Some of the pets shown include:
- Goliath Podon — Legendary
- Terror Bird — Mythic
- Giant Sloth — Cosmic
- Dontosos — Sacred
- Giant — Eternal
- Sabertooth — Diamond
There is also a Skeletal reroll, which appears to be connected to the skeletal mutation system.
Updated Kill Reward System
The update also expands the kill-based reward system.
Previously, there were only around 30 kills worth of rewards. The new system goes all the way up to 100 kills.
This gives you a lot more rewards to work toward while playing through the new content.
Some of the rewards shown include new eggs, pets, and higher-rarity experimental rewards.
Kill 6 Reward
At around 6 kills, you can get an Experimental Egg and a Scrambled Biohazard Egg.
The Scrambled Biohazard Egg also has a mutation associated with it, giving you another reason to continue working through the kill rewards.
Kill 10 Reward
At 10 kills, another experimental pet becomes available.
The update showed Bat 021, which is one of the new experimental pets added to the reward track.
This is one of the rewards worth working toward if you’re trying to collect the new experiments.
Kill 25 Reward
At 25 kills, you can unlock another Experimental pet.
The update adds several new pets throughout the reward track, so continuing to grind kills gives you access to more valuable rewards.
Kill 50 Reward
At 50 kills, there is a Cosmic reward called Uncoiled Armored….
The exact UI information was not fully visible during the update because some of the pet icons and names were not loading correctly.
Still, this is another major milestone to work toward.
Kill 100 Reward
The final major reward is at 100 kills.
At this point, you can unlock Pink Dragon Experiment 010, which is an Eternal pet.
This is one of the biggest rewards in the new kill progression, so you’ll need to put in some serious work if you want to reach the final milestone.
New Experiment Pets
The update also introduces several new experiment-themed pets.
Among the names shown were:
- Experiment 007
- Bat 021
- Experiment 010
- Pink Dragon Experiment 010
Some older experiment eggs have also been removed, meaning not every previously available experiment can still be obtained.
If you’re collecting these pets, make sure you check what is currently available before spending your resources.
The Scramble Boss Event
One of the biggest parts of the update is the new Dr. Scramble boss event.
After the event begins, players are teleported into the event area and given a short amount of time before the battle starts.
The goal is to work together and defeat Scramble.
The boss fight is more challenging than the previous Rift event, so you’ll need to pay attention to the boss and avoid getting targeted.
How To Defeat Scramble
Once the battle begins, attack Scramble whenever you get an opening.
The boss can deal a lot of damage, and players can be targeted during the fight, so make sure you move away when necessary.
After defeating the boss, the event continues with another objective where you need to smash the core multiple times.
The update showed a requirement of around 36 hits for this part.
Keep attacking the objective until the event progresses.
Scramble Mastery Reward
After successfully completing the event, you can claim the Scramble Mastery reward.
Make sure you actually claim the mastery after finishing the battle rather than assuming it has been automatically added.
The mastery is part of the progression connected to the new Scramble event.
New Zone Coming Later
The update also teases a new zone connected to the story.
After the Scramble event and its cutscene, a new area is revealed. The update indicates that a new biome is coming in a future update.
So, there is more content planned beyond the current Dr. Scramble’s Revenge update.

If you’re looking to get the strongest rewards, keep an eye on the laboratory rotation and consider saving your eggs for the Unstable DNA category. At the same time, work through the kill milestones so you can eventually reach the 100-kill Pink Dragon Experiment 010 reward.
And don’t forget to check the shop while the Extinction Egg is available, since it is only around for a limited time.
