In this guide, I’ll go through the best armor in Slayers 2 and place the available options into different tiers. I’ll also explain what makes each piece useful, whether it’s better for Slayers or Demons, and whether you should actually spend your time farming it.
Keep in mind that Slayers 2 is still receiving updates and balance changes, so the exact meta can change. For now, this tier list is based on the armor and bonuses currently available from the information we have.
Slayers 2 Armor Tier List – Best Armor Guide, Bonuses
Here’s my current ranking of the best armor options, with S Tier being the strongest overall choices.
S Tier – Best Armor
Black Dragon Armor
Best for: Tank builds, survivability, endgame
Black Dragon Armor is one of the first armor pieces I’d look at if your main goal is surviving longer.
It’s obtained through World Chests and Tier 3 boss content, making it an endgame-focused piece of equipment.
The biggest reason to chase this armor is its defensive value. It’s designed for players who want to take more punishment rather than focusing purely on damage.
If you’re building a tanky character or regularly fighting bosses where survivability matters, Black Dragon Armor belongs near the top of the list.
Verdict: One of the best defensive armor options currently available.
Reaper Outfit
Best for: DPS builds
If your goal isn’t tanking but instead dealing as much damage as possible, the Reaper Outfit becomes much more interesting.
It’s part of the recommended DPS accessory setup and is especially useful when combined with other damage-focused equipment such as the Demonic Lantern, Bamboo Muzzle, and Stone Hyori.
The important thing here is that you shouldn’t judge the Reaper Outfit only by its defensive stats. Its real value comes from how it fits into a complete damage build.
Verdict: Excellent choice for a dedicated DPS setup.
A Tier – Excellent Armor
Kinugi Hyori
Best for: Defensive builds
Kinugi Hyori is another excellent defensive option.
It provides a combination of:
- Damage reduction
- Damage reduction factor
- HP
This makes it particularly useful for players who want to survive difficult fights.
Kinugi Hyori can be obtained from World Boss/Tier 3 Chest content and is considered a Mythic item.
It’s especially good when you’re building around survivability rather than trying to maximize raw damage.
Verdict: Excellent defensive equipment and one of the best choices for tank-focused builds.
Polar Armor
Best for: Endgame Polar builds
The Polar equipment set includes:
- Polar Top
- Polar Mask
- Polar Bottom
The exact information and final bonuses for some of these pieces are still TBA, so I wouldn’t place them above fully confirmed equipment yet.
However, the Polar equipment is connected to the Polar weapon progression and endgame content, which makes it worth keeping an eye on.
Verdict: Potentially strong, but current information isn’t complete enough for a higher placement.
B Tier – Good Armor
Slayer Uniform
The Slayer Uniform is a straightforward piece of Slayer equipment.
The exact stat bonuses are currently listed as TBA, so there’s not enough confirmed information to place it alongside the strongest known armor pieces.
It’s still worth mentioning because it is part of the Slayer equipment pool and may become more important as more information becomes available.
Verdict: Useful, but current stats aren’t confirmed enough to rank higher.
Black Dragon Armor for DPS Builds
Black Dragon Armor deserves another mention here because its value depends heavily on what you’re building.
If you’re playing a pure DPS setup, you may prefer offensive equipment instead of stacking defensive stats.
But if you’re dying frequently during boss fights, the extra survivability can be more valuable than a small amount of additional damage.
So while I consider it S Tier for defensive builds, I’d place it lower if we’re judging pure DPS optimization.
C Tier – Situational
Some equipment doesn’t have enough confirmed information to justify placing it higher yet.
This includes armor pieces where the current source only lists their existence or appearance but doesn’t provide reliable stats.
I wouldn’t recommend farming an item simply because it has a high rarity. Wait until its actual bonuses are known.
Best Armor for DPS
If you’re trying to build a damage-focused character, I wouldn’t simply equip the highest-defense armor.
The DPS setup from the available item information includes:
- Reaper Outfit
- Demonic Lantern
- Bamboo Muzzle
- Red Oni Mask
- Stone Hyori
The important thing is that this is a complete equipment setup, not just one armor piece.
Stone Hyori is particularly interesting because it provides additional damage and a damage factor, while the other equipment pieces help round out the overall DPS build.
So if your goal is boss farming and killing NPCs quickly, I’d build around offensive bonuses instead of automatically choosing the tankiest armor.
Best Armor for Tank Builds
For a tank build, the priorities are completely different.
I’d focus on:
Black Dragon Armor + Kinugi Hyori
Black Dragon Armor gives you the defensive foundation, while Kinugi Hyori adds damage reduction and HP-related benefits.
This type of setup is especially useful when you’re fighting difficult bosses or playing content where staying alive is more important than finishing the fight as quickly as possible.
Best Armor for Slayers
For Slayers, your armor choice should depend on what you’re doing.
Slayer DPS
Go toward the offensive setup:
Reaper Outfit + Stone Hyori + offensive accessories
This is better suited to players who already understand the combat system and want to maximize their damage.
Slayer Tank
For a defensive Slayer, prioritize:
Black Dragon Armor + Kinugi Hyori
You sacrifice some offensive potential, but the additional survivability can make difficult fights much easier.
Best Armor for Demons
Demons should also consider their overall build rather than simply copying a Slayer setup.
If you’re playing a Demon with a strong Blood Demon Art and want to stay aggressive, offensive equipment can be more valuable.
On the other hand, Demon players who are farming bosses or fighting in situations where they take a lot of damage can benefit greatly from defensive armor.
That’s why I wouldn’t create a completely separate Demon armor tier list unless we have confirmed Demon-specific armor bonuses. Most of the current armor information doesn’t give enough evidence to claim that a particular armor piece is universally better for Demons.
Armor vs Full Accessories – Don’t Confuse the Two
One thing that can make Slayers 2 equipment confusing is that the game has several different equipment categories.
You have things such as:
- Armor
- Hyori
- Masks
- Lanterns
- Scarves
- Other accessories
For example, Stone Hyori is extremely important in a DPS setup, but that doesn’t mean it should automatically be compared directly with a mask or lantern.
Each equipment slot contributes differently to your final build.
So when you’re creating your character, don’t just look for the item with the highest HP or highest rarity. Look at the entire build.
Best Armor for Boss Farming
If you’re mainly farming bosses, I’d split your choice into two situations.
Fast Boss Farming
Use offensive equipment.
The objective is to kill the boss as quickly as possible, so damage bonuses become more valuable.
A setup built around the Reaper Outfit and Stone Hyori is much more appropriate here.
Difficult Bosses
If the boss is killing you before you can finish the fight, switch toward defensive equipment.
This is where Black Dragon Armor and Kinugi Hyori become much more valuable.
There’s no point having the theoretically highest DPS build if you can’t survive long enough to use it.
My Current Armor Ranking
For the currently known armor options, I’d summarize the list like this:
S Tier
- Black Dragon Armor – Best defensive/tank option
- Reaper Outfit – Strong DPS-focused option
A Tier
- Kinugi Hyori – Excellent damage reduction and HP
- Polar Armor pieces – Potentially strong, but information is incomplete
B Tier
- Slayer Uniform – Useful, but current bonuses are not fully confirmed
C Tier
- Unconfirmed/TBA armor – Not enough information to rank confidently
The biggest mistake you can make with armor in Slayers 2 is assuming that the item with the most HP or highest rarity is automatically the best.
If you’re trying to maximize damage, the Reaper Outfit and offensive equipment make much more sense. If you’re struggling to survive, Black Dragon Armor and Kinugi Hyori are much better suited to a defensive build.
And because some armor pieces still have incomplete or TBA information, I wouldn’t lock them into a permanent tier until their stats are properly confirmed. As Slayers 2 receives balance updates and more equipment becomes available, this list will need to change along with the meta.
