Record Breaker is one of the coolest-looking rods in Fisch, introduced with the Venue Encore update. It is a DJ machine with rotating discs and RGB buttons. Beyond its vibrant look, the rod comes with some unique passive stats. In this guide, learn how to get the Record Breaker rod in Fisch.

So, let me tell you about the Record Breaker, one of the flashiest rods you’ll encounter in Fisch, first introduced with the Venue Encore update. This rod is like a DJ’s machine, flaunting rotating discs and vibrant RGB buttons that just scream style. But don’t let its good looks fool you; it comes with some pretty awesome passive stats that make it even more desirable. In this guide, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know about snagging that Record Breaker rod in Fisch.

How to Obtain Record Breaker Rod in Fisch

You’ll unlock the Record Breaker Rod by embarking on a quest from Tryce, the NPC who is hanging out in the underground music venue in Fisch. When you make your way to this lively spot, just have a chat with Tryce. Follow the steps I’ve laid out below, and you’ll be well on your way to completing his quest and grabbing the rod you’ve been dreaming about!

Record Breaker Rod Quest 1: Getting Started

The first set of tasks you need to complete for the Record Breaker rod in Fisch are:

  • Catch and return 5 Titanium Rusty Bolt: You can fish up Rusty Bolts in the Mineshaft in Fisch using Magnet bait to increase your catch rate. To get the Titanium mutation, catch them using the Titanium Rod, which grants a 25% chance to apply the mutation on every catch.
  • Catch and return 5 Melody Iron Chunk: Iron Chunks are found in the Mineshaft by fishing with a rod (ideally paired with Magnet bait) or placing Crab Cages in Fisch. To get the Melody mutation, catch them using the Stellarwave Melody rod, which has an 18.8% base chance (or 22.4% with the Cosmic Crescendo mastery enhancement) to apply the mutation.
  • Catch and return 5 Electrified Scrap Metal: You can catch Scrap Metal during the daytime in areas like the Mineshaft, The Depths, Crystal Cove, or Collapsed Ruins. To get the Electrified mutation, reel them in using Zeus’s Thundermaul while its Electrified State is active for a 90% mutation chance.
  • Obtain 1 Shiny Infernal Fragment: The Infernal Fragment is obtained at a 5% drop rate from Crag-Crab Mining inside the Scoria Mines at Scoria Reach in Fisch (by feeding an Igneous Pearl to Crag-Crabs). Because it isn’t caught with a standard fishing rod in Fisch. Take your fragment to the Appraiser at Moosewood during a Shiny Surge event and repeatedly appraise it until it rolls the Shiny attribute.
  • Catch and return 5 Titanium Rusty Bolt: Your fishing journey starts with hunting down those elusive Rusty Bolts, which you can reel in at the Mineshaft in Fisch using Magnet bait—this will boost your chances to catch them. To snag the Titanium mutation, you’ll want to use the Titanium Rod, as it gives you a 25% chance for that sweet mutation on each catch.
  • Catch and return 5 Melody Iron Chunk: As for Iron Chunks, you can find them in the Mineshaft too, whether you’re fishing with a rod (again, Magnet bait is your friend!) or if you prefer setting up Crab Cages in Fisch. To achieve the Melody mutation, it’s all about using the Stellarwave Melody rod, which starts you off with an 18.8% base chance (and 22.4% if you’ve leveled up with the Cosmic Crescendo mastery enhancement).
  • Catch and return 5 Electrified Scrap Metal: For Scrap Metal, your best bet is to fish during the day in places like the Mineshaft, The Depths, Crystal Cove, or the Collapsed Ruins. To get that Electrified mutation, use Zeus’s Thundermaul while it’s in its Electrified State for an impressive 90% chance of mutating!
  • Obtain 1 Shiny Infernal Fragment: Time to head to the Scoria Mines at Scoria Reach in Fisch to chase down the Infernal Fragment. These fragments drop at a low 5% rate from Crag-Crab Mining—just remember to feed an Igneous Pearl to the Crag-Crabs there. Once you snag a fragment, take it over to the Appraiser at Moosewood during a Shiny Surge event and keep appraising it until you get that shiny attribute you’re after!

Completing the first set of objectives unlocks the Vinyl Bobber in Fisch.

Record Breaker Rod Quest 2: Out of Tunes

The next set of tasks you’ll need to tackle for that Record Breaker rod in Fisch includes the following:

  • Catch and return 1 Shiny Synth DJ Spinopus: Now, the DJ Spinopus can be found in Crystal Cove. To reel one in, use Snare bait on clear nights during either Spring or Summer. To get both Shiny and Synth, use the Stellarwave Melody rod, which gives you an 8.8% base chance (and 12.4% with the Cosmic Crescendo mastery enhancement) for the unappraisable Synth mutation. You can also stack the odds during a Shiny Surge event, with Rainbow weather, or through the Blessing/Glittered enchantments in Fisch.
  • Catch and return 1 Cracked Treble Bass: For the Treble Bass, you’ll want to drop a line at Moosewood at any time and under any weather using Magnet bait. To achieve the Cracked mutation, you need to reel it in with the Blazebringer Rod while its Perfect Catch passive is active. This gives a 5% chance during Ablaze I and 10% during Ablaze II. Alternatively, you could snag the Cracked mutation during the 67 Warriors Admin Event in Fisch, which boosts your chances to 16.7%!
  • Directly Catch and return 2 Phantom Speed Core: You’ll find the Speed Core around Sunstone Island regardless of the weather, season, or time. As for bait, you don’t even need any special bait here! Since you need to catch them directly, the Eidolon Rod will work wonders, giving you a passive 35% chance to apply the Phantom mutation on catch.
  • Catch and return 1 Shiny Sparkling Bog Skulker: You can find the Bog Skulker in the Toxic Grove by either placing Crab Cages or using Garbage bait to fish during rainy Autumn weather. The Shiny and Sparkling attributes are great because they never negate each other during appraisal. You can take a regular Bog Skulker to the Appraiser at Moosewood. Keep appraising it (ideally during a Shiny Surge or Night of the Luminous) until both attributes stick. Alternatively, reel in a high-attribute Bog Skulker with rods like the Destiny Rod in Fisch or Chrysalis.

Record Breaker Rod Quest 3: World Tour

Once you finish up with the first and second sets of tasks, you’ll finally unlock the Record Breaker rod! Just a heads up, though—you’ll only receive a restricted version of it. If you’re keen to learn how to unrestrict the Record Breaker rod in Fisch, stay tuned, because I’ll guide you through the steps!

  • Cast your line and fish for 120 seconds at the serene Roslit Pond while enjoying that Locked In bonus.
  • Make your way over to Moosewood Pond and immerse yourself in fishing there for a solid 120 seconds while locked in.
  • Head to the tranquil Forsaken Shores Pond, and reel in some fish while being Locked In for 120 seconds!
  • Don’t miss out on the fishing opportunities at Evertun Forest; spend a cozy 120 seconds with your rod Locked In.
  • Venture to Ancient Isle Pond and fish for 120 seconds while embracing the Locked In state for maximum fun.
  • Explore the stunning Snowcap Pond and reel in your catch for a full 120 seconds while you’re Locked In.
  • Last but not least, bask in the beauty of Boreal Hollow while fishing for 120 seconds in that Lock In mode.

To get the Locked In buff, you must score 7 points in the Record Breaker minigame. While fishing with the Record Breaker, a vinyl disc appears. Press F when the white line is within the purple range to get a hit for 1 point. If it hits the small yellow area, it gives 2 points for a crit, and if you miss the whole area, the point meter resets.
