Glider Pals are an excellent way to improve mobility in Palworld by enhancing your equipped glider with unique Partner Skills. Instead of replacing crafted gliders, these Pals now modify how your glider performs, offering benefits such as faster gliding, increased altitude, longer airtime, or even the ability to attack while airborne.
As of Version 0.5.5 and Version 1.0, Glider Pals can no longer function as standalone gliders. Instead, they provide passive bonuses while equipped in your party alongside their corresponding Pal Gear. This tier list ranks every Glider Pal based on mobility, exploration, and overall usefulness.

Tier List Criteria
S Tier
These Glider Pals provide the best overall mobility in the game. Their Partner Skills dramatically improve gliding speed and usefulness, making them valuable throughout every stage of progression.
A Tier
These Pals offer excellent utility that can outperform faster gliders in certain situations. Their unique mechanics make them especially useful for exploration, climbing, and advanced movement techniques.
B Tier
These Glider Pals are excellent during the early game and provide a noticeable upgrade over basic crafted gliders. However, they are eventually replaced by stronger alternatives once better Partner Skills become available.
S Tier Glider Pals
Galeclaw
Galeclaw is widely considered the best Glider Pal in Palworld thanks to its unmatched gliding speed and unique combat utility. Its Partner Skill significantly increases the performance of your equipped glider, allowing you to travel across large gaps much faster than any other Glider Pal. What truly makes Galeclaw stand out is its ability to let players fire one-handed weapons while gliding, allowing you to attack enemies without sacrificing mobility. Even after unlocking powerful Flying Mounts, Galeclaw remains extremely useful for dungeon exploration, base traversal, and quickly crossing cliffs or ravines. Because of its combination of speed, versatility, and offensive potential, Galeclaw remains the undisputed best Glider Pal in Version 1.0.
A Tier Glider Pals
Hangyu
Hangyu offers a completely different style of movement compared to other Glider Pals. Instead of focusing purely on horizontal speed, its Partner Skill slowly lifts the player upward while gliding, allowing you to gain additional height during flight. This vertical boost is especially useful for reaching cliffs, mountains, or elevated structures without immediately relying on a Flying Mount. Skilled players can also combine Hangyu with grappling hooks or slide momentum to travel incredible distances and reach locations that would otherwise be inaccessible.
Hangyu Cryst
Hangyu Cryst functions almost identically to Hangyu while featuring an Ice typing. Its Partner Skill also grants additional vertical lift during gliding, making it an excellent exploration tool for climbing difficult terrain. Players who master movement techniques such as grappling or momentum sliding can use Hangyu Cryst to achieve impressive mobility across the map. Although it isn’t as fast as Galeclaw, its unique ability to gain altitude gives it a valuable niche that no other Glider Pal can fully replace.
B Tier Glider Pals
Celaray
Celaray is one of the first Glider Pals most players will obtain and remains an excellent early-game companion. Its Partner Skill increases your gliding speed while preventing fall damage, making exploration much safer during the early stages of the game. Since Celaray’s Pal Gear becomes available at a relatively low Technology Level, it offers one of the earliest quality-of-life upgrades for traveling across cliffs, valleys, and rivers. While later Glider Pals eventually outperform it, Celaray remains one of the best options for new players.
Killamari
Killamari focuses on extending glide duration rather than maximizing speed. Its Partner Skill allows players to float gently through the air, making it possible to travel much farther before landing. Although it is slower than Celaray during normal gliding, the increased airtime makes it particularly useful for crossing large gaps and safely descending from high elevations. Because Killamari is primarily found inside dungeons, acquiring it can take more effort than some of the other Glider Pals.
Best Glider Pals by Game Progression
Early Game
Celaray
Celaray is the best early-game Glider Pal thanks to its low Technology unlock level and excellent balance of speed and safety. New players can obtain it relatively quickly, making exploration much easier than relying solely on crafted gliders.
Mid Game
Killamari
Killamari becomes a strong alternative once you begin exploring dungeons. Its extended glide duration allows you to cross larger gaps and descend safely from great heights.
Late Game
Hangyu
Hangyu excels at vertical exploration by allowing players to slowly gain altitude while gliding. It becomes especially valuable when exploring mountainous regions or using advanced movement techniques.
End Game
Galeclaw
Galeclaw remains the best Glider Pal throughout the entire game. Its incredible gliding speed and ability to use weapons while airborne make it useful even after obtaining the fastest Flying Mounts.
Glider Pals with Unique Effects
Fastest Gliding Speed
If your priority is covering long distances as quickly as possible, Galeclaw is the clear winner. Its Partner Skill dramatically increases gliding speed, making it the fastest Glider Pal in the game.
Increased Vertical Height
The following Glider Pals slowly lift the player while gliding:
- Hangyu
- Hangyu Cryst
This unique ability allows players to climb cliffs and maintain altitude much longer than normal gliding.
Extended Glide Duration
Killamari allows players to float slowly through the air, extending overall glide distance despite having lower movement speed.
Prevents Fall Damage
Celaray protects players from fall damage while improving gliding speed, making it an excellent beginner-friendly option.
Allows Weapon Usage
Galeclaw is currently the only Glider Pal that allows players to fire one-handed weapons while gliding, giving it unmatched combat utility during exploration.
How to Use Glider Pals
Using a Glider Pal requires a few simple steps:
- Capture or breed the Glider Pal you want to use.
- Unlock its unique Pal Gear recipe in the Technology Tree.
- Craft the required Pal Gear at a Pal Gear Workbench.
- Add the Glider Pal to your active party.
- Jump into the air and deploy your equipped glider to activate the Pal’s Partner Skill.
Without both the Pal and its corresponding Pal Gear, the gliding bonus will not activate.
How to Improve Glider Performance
The best way to increase a Glider Pal’s effectiveness is by upgrading its Partner Skill using the Pal Essence Condenser. Each Partner Skill level improves gliding performance while reducing stamina consumption during flight.
Unlike Ground and Flying Mounts, normal movement speed Passive Skills such as Swift, Runner, and Nimble do not increase gliding speed. Because gliding performance is determined entirely by the Partner Skill, upgrading your Glider Pal through condensation provides the greatest improvement.
Although Glider Pals no longer replace crafted gliders in Version 1.0, they remain an important part of exploration by enhancing your equipped glider with powerful passive abilities. Galeclaw continues to dominate thanks to its unmatched speed and ability to use weapons while airborne, making it the best overall Glider Pal in the game. Hangyu and Hangyu Cryst provide exceptional vertical mobility for players who enjoy advanced movement techniques, while Celaray remains one of the strongest early-game choices because of its accessibility and fall damage protection. Even Killamari offers valuable extended airtime for long-distance gliding, ensuring every Glider Pal has a useful role depending on your preferred playstyle.
