After spending some time exploring FishFest Island, collecting Sunshells, participating in mini-games, and working through event quests, there comes a point where most players want to head back to the regular world. Whether you’re returning to your favorite fishing spot, meeting up with friends, checking merchants, or simply continuing your normal progression, you’ll eventually need a way off the event island.
The good news is that leaving FishFest Island is much easier than many players think.
I’ve already seen quite a few players running around the beach looking for boats, hidden portals, or special NPCs because they assume there must be a complicated exit somewhere. In reality, the developers provided a very simple method that takes only a few seconds once you know where to look.
Returning to Moosewood from FishFest Island
The primary way to leave FishFest Island is by using a Magic Mirror.
This teleportation item instantly sends you back to Moosewood, allowing you to return to the main game world without needing to travel manually.
If you’ve previously purchased a Magic Mirror from the Traveling Merchant, you can simply use your own mirror whenever you want to leave the event area.
Many veteran players already keep a Magic Mirror in their inventory because of how useful it is for fast travel throughout Fisch.
However, even if you don’t own one, you’re still covered.
Free Magic Mirror Location
One of the most helpful features on FishFest Island is that the developers placed a free Magic Mirror for everyone to use.
This means you don’t need to spend any money or wait for a Traveling Merchant appearance just to leave the island.
The free Magic Mirror can be found near the Tiki Hut.
If you’re standing around the central event area, the Tiki Hut is one of the easiest landmarks to locate, making the mirror very convenient to find.
Simply head toward the Tiki Hut and look around the nearby area. Once you locate the mirror, interact with it and choose to use it.
After a short moment, you’ll be teleported back to Moosewood.
Tiki Hut Landmark
If you’re struggling to find the mirror, focus on finding the Tiki Hut first.
The Tiki Hut is one of the major locations on FishFest Island and is often visited by players because of the temporary drink buffs available there.
Since many event activities naturally bring players close to this area, the mirror placement makes a lot of sense.
The developers clearly wanted players to have a simple and reliable exit point rather than forcing them to search around the island.
What Happens After Using the Magic Mirror?
Once the Magic Mirror is activated, you’ll be transported directly back to Moosewood.
From there, you can continue doing anything you normally would in Fisch.
Some common reasons players return include:
- Regular fishing
- Visiting merchants
- Upgrading equipment
- Meeting friends
- Traveling to other islands
- Completing non-event content
- Selling items
- Continuing progression quests
The transition is almost immediate, making it one of the fastest travel methods available during the event.
Returning to FishFest Island Again
One concern many players have is whether leaving FishFest Island locks them out of the event.
Fortunately, that’s not the case.
You can freely travel back and forth between Moosewood and FishFest Island whenever needed.
Once you’re back in Moosewood, simply locate the special event shell that acts as the entrance to FishFest Island.
Interacting with the shell will send you back to the event area.
This means there’s no penalty for leaving, and you can switch between normal content and event activities whenever you want.
FishFest Island Travel Loop
The travel system essentially works like this:
Going to FishFest Island
- Travel to Moosewood.
- Find the event shell.
- Interact with the shell.
- Arrive at FishFest Island.
Returning to Moosewood
- Travel to the Tiki Hut area.
- Locate the Magic Mirror.
- Interact with the mirror.
- Return to Moosewood.
Once you understand this loop, moving between both locations becomes extremely quick.
Why Players Miss the Exit
Interestingly, many players don’t realize the Magic Mirror exists because they spend most of their time focused on event objectives.
FishFest introduces a lot of distractions:
- Sunshell farming
- Shoreline rewards
- Event fishing
- Captain Conch quests
- Mini-games
- Bonfire progression
- Companion grinding
- Hidden secrets
With so much happening, it’s easy to overlook a simple object sitting near the Tiki Hut.
I’ve seen several players ask in chat how to leave the island even while standing only a few steps away from the mirror itself.
Fastest Way to Travel Between Moosewood and FishFest
If your goal is efficiency, this is currently the fastest travel method available:
- Use the event shell in Moosewood to enter FishFest Island.
- Complete your event activities.
- Visit the Magic Mirror near the Tiki Hut.
- Return instantly to Moosewood.
- Use the shell again whenever you want to revisit the event.
Following this route eliminates unnecessary searching and allows you to move between event content and the main game world within seconds.
When Should You Leave FishFest Island?
There isn’t really a wrong time to leave, but many players typically return to Moosewood when they:
- Finish daily event tasks.
- Need to access non-event merchants.
- Want to fish in standard locations.
- Need inventory management.
- Are taking a break from event grinding.
- Want to continue normal progression.
Since travel is so quick, there’s no reason to stay on FishFest Island if your current objective is elsewhere.
Leaving FishFest Island is much simpler than it initially appears. Instead of searching for a hidden boat, portal, or NPC, all you need to do is find the Magic Mirror located near the Tiki Hut. Interacting with it instantly sends you back to Moosewood, where you can continue your normal Fisch adventures.
The best part is that travel works both ways. If you decide you want to jump back into FishFest later, simply use the event shell in Moosewood and you’ll return to the island immediately. Once you know where the Magic Mirror is located, moving between FishFest and the rest of Fisch becomes one of the easiest parts of the entire event.
