How to Get Data Coins in Survive the Apocalypse
Data Coins are mainly used for unlocking the new Hacker Class and purchasing the various Hacker-related items available with it.
There are several things tied to this system, so you’ll need a decent stockpile if you want to unlock everything.
The good news is that there is a reliable daily method, while the raid gives you a much larger payout when you successfully complete it.
Method 1: Complete the Daily Quests
The easiest way to start earning Data Coins is through the daily quests.
You can earn up to 60 Data Coins per day from these quests alone.
This is definitely the method I’d recommend doing every day because there’s no need to wait for a special event or raid opening. Just check your quests, complete them, and collect your rewards.
There also appears to be an option to refresh the quests, which can potentially give you another opportunity to earn additional Data Coins.
So if you’re working toward the Hacker Class, don’t ignore your daily quests. Those coins add up surprisingly quickly over time.
Method 2: Complete the Hacker Mansion Raid
This is the big one.
The other major way to get Data Coins is by finding and clearing the Hacker Mansion during a game.
The mansion isn’t available all the time. It opens approximately once every 3 hours, so you’ll need to pay attention to the timer in the lobby and plan your run around it.
When the mansion isn’t open, there’s a timer at the top of the screen showing when it will become available.
Once it opens, that’s your opportunity to enter and loot it.
Where Is the Hacker Mansion?
This was honestly one of the more annoying parts of the run because the mansion isn’t necessarily sitting somewhere obvious.
The useful clue is that the mansion appears to be located around the small neighborhood area in the middle of the map.
If you’re searching for it, look for the small neighborhood rather than blindly running around the entire map.
That can save you a ridiculous amount of time.
Once you’ve found it, make sure you’re prepared before going inside.
Bring Good Weapons
I wouldn’t recommend walking into the mansion with a weak setup.
The place is packed with enemies, including Hacker Zombies and tougher Muscle Zombies.
They hit hard, and you can get overwhelmed surprisingly quickly.
The run shown in the gameplay is a good example of what can happen if you underestimate the enemies. Even with strong equipment, you can get shredded if you simply run straight into the building.
So before entering, make sure you have:
- Strong weapons
- Plenty of ammunition
- Enough healing
- Good armor
- A class that can deal with groups of enemies
Having good survivability is especially useful because you’re going to be fighting through multiple areas before reaching the final enemy.
How to Enter the Mansion
Once the mansion opens, head inside and start clearing the enemies.
You’ll need to fight through the Hacker Zombies and other enemies in the building.
One important thing you’ll notice is that some enemies can drop keycards.
You’ll need one of these keycards to progress further into the mansion.
So don’t just ignore the zombies and try to sprint through everything.
Kill the enemies, pick up the keycard, and use it to open the required areas.
Be Careful With the Hacker Zombies
The enemies inside aren’t exactly pushovers.
There are quite a few of them, and some of the stronger zombies can burn through your health extremely quickly.
It’s very easy to get overconfident and run into a room expecting to wipe everything out.
That’s exactly how you end up getting surrounded.
I’d recommend taking fights from a safer position whenever possible and using your strongest weapons against the tougher enemies.
Don’t waste all your ammunition on weaker zombies if you know you still have the boss waiting for you.
The Hacker Boss
Eventually, you’ll make your way through the mansion and reach the main Hacker.
This is where things get considerably more serious.
Before you start fighting him, make sure you’re ready.
The boss has a large health pool, so you’re going to burn through quite a bit of ammunition.
One important detail is that you need to talk to the Hacker to start the encounter.
Don’t immediately start shooting him as soon as you see him.
Once the fight begins, keep your distance when possible and pay attention to his attacks.
Dodging is extremely important because the boss can deal a lot of damage if you stand there and try to tank everything.
Bring Plenty of Ammo for the Boss
This is probably one of the biggest tips I’d give anyone attempting the mansion.
Bring more ammunition than you think you’ll need.
The Hacker boss is surprisingly tanky.
Even with a strong weapon such as the H12, you’ll go through a considerable amount of ammo before he finally goes down.
Running out of ammunition during the final fight would be a pretty painful way to lose the entire run, especially considering how long the mansion takes to clear.
So stock up before you enter.
Clear the Mansion and Get the Data Coins
Once the Hacker is defeated, you’ll receive the reward.
After clearing the mansion, you’ll get a pouch containing 100 Data Coins.
And this is where the game throws one more little surprise at you.
Getting the pouch does not mean you’ve already received the 100 Data Coins.
You still have to successfully escape with them.
You Must Beat the Game to Claim the Coins
This is probably the most important part of the entire Data Coin farming method.
When the game says “Escape to claim the Data Coins,” it doesn’t simply mean walk back to your base.
You need to actually survive the game and reach Day 100.
So, for example, if you clear the mansion on Day 2, you’ll have to survive another 98 days before those 100 Data Coins are officially yours.
That’s a huge difference.
You can clear the mansion, grab the pouch, and then die later in the run.
If that happens, you don’t get to simply keep the coins.
The entire run needs to be successfully completed.
Don’t Throw Away Your Run After Getting the Pouch
This is where you really need to change your mindset.
Once you have the 100 Data Coin pouch, your objective isn’t finished.
You’ve essentially turned the rest of the survival run into part of the reward.
So don’t suddenly start taking unnecessary risks.
Keep your food stocked, maintain your equipment, watch your health, and play more carefully than usual.
There’s nothing worse than surviving the entire mansion only to die from something completely avoidable afterward.
How Many Data Coins Can You Get?
There are two main sources discussed here:

Hacker Mansion: 100 Data Coins from a successful mansion run, provided you survive and complete the game.
That means the daily quests are the easy, repeatable option, while the mansion is the high-reward method that requires a serious time commitment.
Best Way to Farm Data Coins
If you’re specifically trying to unlock the Hacker Class, I’d combine both methods.
Start by doing your daily quests every day.
Then, whenever the Hacker Mansion opens, prepare for a proper raid rather than rushing into it.
Once you successfully clear it, remember that the hard part isn’t necessarily over. You need to survive until Day 100 to actually claim the reward.
So I’d prioritize survival after getting the pouch over unnecessary exploration or risky fights.
Is the Hacker Mansion Worth Doing?
If you’re trying to unlock the Hacker Class, yes.
The 100 Data Coins make the mansion worth doing, even though the process is much more time-consuming than the daily quests.
The biggest downside is simply the amount of time involved.
You’re not just clearing a building and walking away with your reward. You have to carry the pouch through the rest of the survival run and eventually beat the game.
That makes the mansion much more difficult than a normal farming method.
Getting Data Coins in Survive the Apocalypse is basically a combination of patience and preparation.
For the easy method, complete your daily quests, which can give you up to 60 Data Coins each day.
For the big reward, wait for the Hacker Mansion to open, which happens roughly every 3 hours. Find the mansion around the small neighborhood area, fight through the Hacker Zombies, collect the required keycard, defeat the Hacker boss, and grab the 100 Data Coin pouch.
