If you’re trying to open the Sand Castle Hatch, access the Heart of the Island, or fully complete the FishFest 2026 event, collecting all seven Conches is something you’ll eventually have to do.
When I first started working through the event, I thought the Conches would be simple collectibles scattered around the island. Instead, each one has its own unlock requirement, bottle message, and digging location. Missing a single step can leave you wandering around the island wondering why nothing is showing up.
The good news is that once you understand how each Conch works, the entire collection process becomes much easier.
Before starting, there’s one thing you should know.
Important: Most Conches Require a Bottle Message First
For almost every Conch, you can’t simply go to the digging location immediately.
You’ll usually need to:
- Unlock a colored bottle.
- Read the message inside.
- Equip a Plastic Shovel.
- Travel to the correct digging spot.
Skipping the bottle message is one of the most common mistakes players make.
The Pink Conch is the only major exception to this rule.
How to Get the Yellow Conch
The Yellow Conch is usually the first one most players encounter.
Step 1: Find the Yellow Bottle
Head to the beach near the FishFest Island spawn area.
The Yellow Bottle is located very close to where players first arrive, making it one of the easiest bottles to locate.
Step 2: Read the Message
Interact with the bottle and read its message.
This activates the next step of the hunt.
Step 3: Dig Up the Yellow Conch
After reading the bottle:
- Equip your Plastic Shovel.
- Travel to the digging location.
- Dig at the correct sand spot.
Once completed, you’ll receive the Yellow Conch.
How to Get the Orange Conch
The Orange Conch starts with the campfire area.
Step 1: Obtain Driftwood
Before anything else, collect Driftwood.
Step 2: Feed the Bonfire
Place the Driftwood into the campfire located near spawn.
Step 3: Speak to the Nearby NPC
After contributing to the fire, talk to the NPC standing nearby.
This NPC rewards you with the Orange Bottle.
Step 4: Read the Bottle Message
Read the Orange Bottle before searching for the Conch.
Step 5: Dig Near the Pedestal Gate
The Orange Conch is buried near the gate that contains the Conch pedestals.
Use that structure as your main landmark.
Dig at the correct location to claim the Orange Conch.
How to Get the Red Conch
The Red Conch requires completing one of the event’s activities first.
Step 1: Complete the Jet Ski Race
You must finish the race in:
- Under 2 minutes
Your placement doesn’t matter.
You can finish first or last as long as your completion time stays below the two-minute requirement.
Step 2: Read the Red Bottle
After finishing the race requirement, read the Red Bottle message.
Step 3: Dig Near the Lighthouse
The Red Conch is located:
- Near the Sand Castle
- Close to the Lighthouse
Use those landmarks to find the digging spot.
Equip your Plastic Shovel and dig to obtain the Red Conch.
How to Get the Green Conch
The Green Conch comes from the Sand Castle minigame.
Step 1: Play the Castle Building Game
You’ll be shown a castle design.
Your job is to memorize the design and rebuild it correctly.
Step 2: Win Twice
You must successfully complete the minigame two times.
One victory isn’t enough.
Step 3: Claim the Green Bottle
After your second victory, speak with the reward NPC.
You’ll receive the Green Bottle.
Step 4: Read and Dig
Read the bottle message, grab your Plastic Shovel, and travel to the Green Conch location.
Dig up the treasure to finish the challenge.
How to Get the Purple Conch
The Purple Conch is tied to Sunshell currency.
Step 1: Visit the Sunshell Merchant
Find the merchant on FishFest Island.
Step 2: Purchase the Purple Bottle
The Purple Message Bottle costs:
- 6,000 Sunshells
This makes it one of the more expensive Conches to unlock.
Step 3: Read the Message
After purchasing it, read the contents of the bottle.
Step 4: Dig Up the Purple Conch
Travel to the correct location and use your Plastic Shovel.
The Purple Conch will be buried beneath the sand.
How to Get the Blue Conch
The Blue Conch is connected to a special drink vendor.
Step 1: Buy the Random Drink
Purchase the Random Drink option.
Cost:
- 25 Sunshells
Make sure you’re buying the actual Random Drink and not one of the standard drinks.
Step 2: Obtain the Blue Bottle
The purchase rewards you with the Blue Bottle.
Step 3: Read the Message
Open and read the bottle’s message.
Step 4: Dig the Conch
Take your Plastic Shovel to the digging location and uncover the Blue Conch.
How to Get the Pink Conch
The Pink Conch is completely different from every other Conch in the event.
There is:
- No bottle
- No digging
- No shovel requirement
Instead, it comes directly from Captain Conk.
Complete Captain Conk’s Questline
You’ll need to work through his entire event storyline.
Expect tasks such as:
- Finding NPCs
- Completing minigames
- Catching event fish
- Progressing through FishFest objectives
Final Requirement
One of the final tasks requires obtaining:
- 3 Sunslashes
After finishing Captain Conk’s full questline, he rewards you directly with the Pink Conch.
Conch Collection Checklist
Before attempting to open the Sand Castle Hatch, make sure you have:
- Yellow Conch
- Orange Conch
- Red Conch
- Green Conch
- Purple Conch
- Blue Conch
- Pink Conch
Missing even one means the hatch puzzle cannot be completed.
What Are the Conches Used For?
Collecting all seven Conches is one of the most important goals in FishFest 2026.
They are required to:
- Open the Sand Castle Hatch
- Access the Heart of the Island
- Reach the final FishFest area
- Unlock endgame event progression
- Complete major Bestiary objectives
- Progress toward the Starshell Rod unlock
In other words, the Conches are the keys to the entire final section of the event.
Getting all seven Conches may seem overwhelming at first, but most of them follow the same pattern: unlock a bottle, read the message, grab a Plastic Shovel, and dig at the correct location. The biggest exceptions are the Pink Conch, which comes from Captain Conk’s questline, and the activity-based Conches like Red and Green that require completing specific event challenges first.
Once you’ve collected all seven, you’ll be ready to place them on the Sand Castle pedestals, unlock the Heart of the Island, and begin tackling the final stages of FishFest 2026.
