If you want to recreate Akaza, the Upper Rank Three demon, in Project Slayers 2, you need more than just the right appearance. The full build combines the Soyama clan, Demon race, Shockwave Blood Demon Art, Soryu fighting style, Damascus Sickles, and Akaza’s own outfit pieces.
In this guide, I’ll take you through the entire process in the order that makes the most sense. Some parts are heavily dependent on luck, while others require completing quests, training, and farming bosses.
By the end, you’ll have the main pieces needed to build a Hakuji/Akaza-style character, including Annihilation Type, Soryu, the matching weapon, and the Akaza outfit.
How to Become Upper Moon 3 Akaza (Soyama) in Slayers 2
There are six main components you need for the complete build:

You don’t necessarily have to finish every part in exactly this order, but getting the Demon race before working on the Blood Demon Art makes the progression much smoother.
Get the Soyama Clan
The first thing you should aim for is the Soyama clan.
Soyama is a Supreme clan and has an extremely low roll chance of around 0.1%, so this is likely to be one of the most time-consuming parts if you don’t get lucky.
Open the character customization or clan menu and use your clan spins until Soyama appears.
If you already have a character you don’t want to lose, having an additional character slot can be useful because it lets you continue rolling without immediately replacing your existing character.
Soyama Clan Bonuses
Once you roll Soyama, the clan provides several useful bonuses:
- +170 Max Health
- +22% Additional Damage Factor
- +128 Max Stamina
- +2 Damage Reduction
- +6% Damage Reduction Factor
It also provides several notable passives, including:
- Indomitable Will
- Combat Intuition
- Bell Splitter
- Enhanced Speed
- Pain Resistance
Some of these abilities need to be purchased separately from the skill tree.
Customize Your Character Like Akaza
Once you have Soyama, you can start working on the appearance.
For a human Hakuji look, use the game’s customization options to create the recognizable dark-haired martial artist appearance.
For the Demon Akaza appearance, you’ll want:
- Bright pink spiky hair
- Pale blue/white skin
- Akaza’s facial markings
- Bare torso
- White cropped pants
Some demon-related customization options become available only after progressing through the Demon ranks.
Before changing your appearance, remove unnecessary Slayer equipment. Items such as the Flame Haori, Silent Vesture Top Hat, or Volcanic Katana can remain visible on your character and interfere with the Akaza look.
Become a Demon Through Muzan
Your next major step is becoming a Demon.
You need to start as a Human for the normal progression. If you’re currently a Slayer, you’ll need to reset your race before continuing.
Get Your Reputation Into the Negative
Muzan’s quest requires negative reputation.
One way to lower your reputation is by attacking civilians and Demon Slayers. Fighting Kanoe Demon Slayers in Iceveil Valley can be useful because you can lower your reputation while also earning experience.
You’ll want your reputation sufficiently negative before searching for Muzan.
Find Muzan at Night
Muzan appears in the world after nightfall.
He can spawn around locations such as Mistfall Harbor, and a marker can help you determine how far away he is once you’ve found the correct server.
If you’re stuck waiting for night, server hopping can save some time.
Once you find Muzan, speak to him and begin his quest.
Get the Biwa Bell
Muzan gives you the Biwa Bell, which allows you to teleport to Muzan’s Lair inside the Infinity Castle.
Use the bell to reach the lair and continue the quest.
Your next task involves collecting 9 Spider Lilies and rescuing Dr. Higoshima.
Collect the Spider Lilies
Spider Lilies can be found around the central pond near Giyu’s spawn and throughout Bamboo Grove.
Collect the required nine flowers before moving on to the doctor portion of the quest.
You’ll also want to have wall climbing available because the doctor isn’t simply standing on the ground waiting for you.
Rescue Dr. Higoshima
Dr. Higoshima is located on an elevated ledge around the Butterfly Estate area.
Use wall climbing to reach him and pick him up.
Once you have the doctor, carry him to the marked safe zone.
Be careful during this part because hostile NPCs and other players can attack you while you’re transporting him. Having a horse can make the trip much easier.
After successfully delivering Dr. Higoshima, you’ll receive Muzan’s Blood.
Drink the blood to become a Demon and unlock the Demon title.
Get the Shockwave Blood Demon Art
Now that you’re a Demon, head back to Muzan’s Lair and start rolling for the Shockwave Blood Demon Art.
You’ll need to obtain the Shockwave Orb from the Demon Art spins.
The Demon Art pool contains several other possibilities, so getting Shockwave can take a considerable number of spins.
Once you obtain the Shockwave Orb, you’ll be able to begin its Core Training.
Complete Shockwave Core Training
Unlocking Shockwave isn’t the end of the process.
You need to complete its Core Training, which contains several objectives:
- Complete push-ups at the Butterfly Estate gym
- Perform barbell squats outside the estate
- Push the boulder through the obstacle course
- Complete the Boulder Split timing minigame
- Defeat 2 Mizunotos
The biggest problem for Demons is the daylight.
Your character will continuously take damage from sunlight, and several of these training objectives take place outdoors.
A Sun Hat from Kazu in Mistfall Harbor can help with sun immunity. The Bamboo Sandogasa also provides sun immunity.
Unlock Shockwave Moves
After completing Core Training, the Shockwave skill tree becomes available.
You’ll need to increase your Shockwave mastery and spend skill points to unlock its moves.

The important move for your Akaza build is Annihilation Type, which requires 53 Shockwave mastery.
Farm Shockwave Mastery
The easiest way to build mastery is by repeatedly fighting bosses.
Bosses such as:
- Hoyuzo
- Obari
- Tengai
- Giyu
- Sumari
can help increase your mastery.
A 2x Mastery boost can make this grind considerably faster.
You can also take elimination bounties from Muzan while leveling the Blood Demon Art, allowing you to work toward multiple objectives at the same time.
Get the Damascus Sickles
For the weapon portion of the Akaza build, you’ll want the Damascus Sickles.
They drop from Hoyuzo, who is located inside the cave behind the waterfall.
The drop rate is around 7%, so expect to run the boss several times.
The sickles provide:
- +4 Additional Damage
- 1.08x Damage Factor
- +5.1 Block Points
- 1.9x Block Regeneration
There is another reason Hoyuzo is worth farming: boss kills can also help with your Shockwave mastery.
So while you’re looking for the sickles, you’re simultaneously progressing toward Annihilation Type.
Get Akaza’s Outfit
The remaining major cosmetic pieces come from the Akaza boss.
The boss drops the following items:

The outfit pieces are listed in-game as Azaka’s Top and Azaka’s Bottoms, so don’t be confused by the spelling.
The Akaza boss itself can take some time to farm because each individual item has a low drop chance.
A Luck boost can improve your farming odds, while health regeneration items can help you survive repeated boss attempts.
Unlock the Soryu Fighting Style
The final major part of the Akaza build is Soryu.
You’ll need to travel to Mistfall Harbor and find Soryu Expert Kazuma.
From the central Giyu spawn, go through the vines, descend into the Hidden Mist Village, cross the bridge, and find Kazuma’s house.
Talk to Kazuma and accept the Soryu Trial.
Complete Kazuma’s Soryu Trial
The trial contains several objectives.
Catch 20 Common Fish
First, obtain a fishing permit from Dock Master Sofen.
You’ll need to recover the permit stamp from the nearby house before you can get the permit.
Afterward, purchase a Basic Fishing Rod from Fisherman Jeso.
Use it to catch the required 20 common fish.
Find the Soryu Scroll
Next, head into the flooded cave directly beneath Kazuma’s house.
Dive into the cave and locate the Soryu Scroll.
Collect it to continue the trial.
Deal 8,000 M1 Damage With Your Fists
This objective is easy to misunderstand.
You need to deal 8,000 M1 damage using fists only.
Weapon attacks don’t count toward the requirement.
Unequip your weapons and fight bosses or regular enemies using your basic punches until the counter reaches 8,000.
Defeat Soryu Trainee Goki
The final step is defeating Soryu Trainee Goki, who can be found beneath the waterfall.
Once you defeat him, the Soryu trial is complete and the Soryu fighting style unlocks.
You can then equip it and begin unlocking its moves, including abilities such as Bone Breaker and Face Breaker.
Upgrade Soryu and the Damascus Sickles
Once you have both the fighting style and weapon, you can refine them.
Visit Refiner Hagane inside the Hidden Mist Village.
He can upgrade weapons and fighting styles using Refinement Ores and Yen, with upgrades available up to +7.
Your Hoyuzo farming runs should already have given you a good supply of refinement materials, so this is a convenient time to upgrade the Damascus Sickles and Soryu.
How to Complete the Akaza Build
Before calling the build finished, check that you have all of the following:
- Soyama clan equipped
- Demon race
- Shockwave Blood Demon Art
- Annihilation Type unlocked
- Soryu fighting style equipped
- Damascus Sickles equipped
- Azaka’s Top equipped
- Azaka’s Bottoms equipped
- Akaza-style pink hair and markings
- Demon appearance customized to match Akaza
If all of those pieces are in place, you’ve essentially recreated the Upper Moon Three setup in Project Slayers 2.
Akaza Build Progression Order
If you want to avoid jumping between unrelated objectives, I recommend following this order:
Soyama → Demon → Shockwave → Core Training → Shockwave mastery → Damascus Sickles → Soryu → Akaza outfit → Annihilation Type → refine your equipment
The Hoyuzo farm is especially useful because it can contribute toward both the Damascus Sickles and your Shockwave mastery.
Once everything is finished, your character should have the Soyama Supreme clan, Demon race, Shockwave Blood Demon Art with Annihilation Type, Soryu fighting style, Damascus Sickles, and the two Akaza outfit pieces.
The build takes a mixture of extremely rare clan rolls, Blood Demon Art spins, mastery grinding, boss farming, and quest completion, so don’t expect to finish it quickly unless you get lucky with the drops.
The biggest grind is usually the Soyama roll and the 5% Akaza drops, while Soryu and the Demon progression are more predictable because they come from quests. Once all the pieces come together, though, you have a full Akaza-inspired build rather than just an Akaza-looking character.
