Skill Points are one of the most important parts of building your character in Slayers 2. They let you unlock everything from health and stamina upgrades to movement abilities, weapon skills, clan abilities, and Breathing techniques.
The problem is that the game doesn’t make the Skill Tree particularly obvious when you first start playing. Your points are sitting there waiting to be spent, but you need to open the correct menu before you can actually use them.
In this guide, I’ll show you exactly where to find the Skill Tree, how to spend your points, how to check your remaining balance, which upgrades are useful early on, and how to reset your points if you make a mistake.
How to Add Skill Points in the Skill Tree in Slayers 2
Getting to the Skill Tree only takes a few clicks.
Open the Main Menu
Look at the top-left corner of your screen.
You’ll see a button with three horizontal lines. Click it to open the main menu.
The menu normally opens on the Inventory section first, with several options displayed in the sidebar.
Select Skill Tree
Look down the left side of the menu and select Skill Tree.
You’ll see several other sections here, including Inventory, Shop, Player Info, Faction, Titles, Archives, Servers, Settings, and other menu options.
Select Skill Tree to open the node-based progression screen.
How to Spend Skill Points
Once you’re inside the Skill Tree, you’ll see different chains of circular nodes branching out from the center.
Click on a node to open its information panel.
The panel shows what the node does, which branch it belongs to, whether you’ve unlocked it, and any requirements you need to meet.
If you have enough points and meet the requirements, you can purchase the node.
Your remaining balance is displayed at the bottom of the screen under SKILL POINTS.
How Do You Get Skill Points?
You receive 3 Skill Points every time you level up.
These points aren’t automatically spent for you, so you’ll need to manually open the Skill Tree and decide where you want them to go.
This makes leveling important for more than simply increasing your character’s level. Every level also gives you more freedom to develop your build.
For example, you could put your points into:
- Health
- Stamina
- Block regeneration
- Weapon damage
- Movement
- Clan abilities
- Innate skills
- Breathing techniques
Skill Points and Mastery Are Different
One thing that can confuse new players is the difference between Skill Points and Mastery.
They aren’t the same system.
Your character level gives you Skill Points that you can spend in the Skill Tree.
Mastery, on the other hand, is built by actually using your weapon, fighting style, or Breathing style in combat.
So unlocking a weapon or Breathing branch doesn’t automatically give you maximum mastery for that moveset. You’ll still need to use it and gain mastery through gameplay.
What Can You Unlock in the Skill Tree?
The Skill Tree contains multiple branches rather than being one straight progression path.
Depending on your character and progression, you’ll find upgrades related to:
- Health
- Stamina
- Sword damage
- Block regeneration
- Wall Climb
- Double Jump
- Innate Skills
- Character abilities
- Clan abilities
- Spears and other weapons
- Breathing styles
- Individual weapon techniques
Some branches also have their own deeper progression, meaning you’ll need to unlock earlier nodes before reaching the ability you actually want.
Check Requirements Before Spending Points
Don’t immediately spend your points just because you have them.
Click the node you want first and read its requirements.
Some powerful abilities are several nodes deep into a branch. If you spend your points on unrelated upgrades, you may end up short of the points needed to reach the ability you’re actually trying to unlock.
This is especially important with Breathing and weapon-specific skill trees.
Before purchasing anything, trace the path from your current unlocked node to the ability you want and make sure you have enough points to reach it.
Which Skill Points Should You Spend First?
There isn’t one perfect build for every player, but movement is extremely useful during the early game.
Unlock Wall Climb
Wall Climb should be one of your early priorities.
Several areas and trainer locations require you to climb terrain, so having this ability can save you from being blocked by parts of the map.
It also becomes useful when you’re exploring or trying to escape enemies.
Get Double Jump
Double Jump is another valuable movement upgrade.
It gives you an additional way to reposition during combat and makes exploring the world easier.
Having both Wall Climb and Double Jump early gives your character much more mobility.
Invest in Health if You’re Dying
If enemies are killing you before you can finish a fight, put some points into Health.
There’s little benefit to having high damage if you’re constantly losing fights before you can use it.
Invest in Stamina if You Run Out
Stamina becomes particularly important if your playstyle involves frequent attacks, dashes, and movement.
If you’re constantly running out of stamina during combat, spending points on stamina-related upgrades can make your character much easier to play.
Start Your Breathing Branch After Unlocking It
Breathing styles become available around Level 25 through their respective trainer progression.
Before that point, your Skill Points can be used on movement and survivability.
Once you’ve obtained your Breathing style, start investing in the abilities you actually plan to use rather than spreading your points across unrelated branches.
A Simple Early-Game Skill Point Path
If you’re not sure where to start, a simple approach is:
Wall Climb → Double Jump → Health/Stamina → Your Weapon or Breathing Branch
This isn’t a mandatory build. It’s simply a practical way to avoid spending your early points on abilities you won’t immediately use.
As your character develops, you can move toward whatever playstyle you’re building.
How to Check Whether a Skill Was Unlocked
After buying a node, click it again to check its status.
A node you’ve successfully purchased should show UNLOCKED in its information panel.
Your Skill Point total at the bottom of the screen should also decrease according to the cost of the node.
If the node still says it’s locked and your point total hasn’t changed, the purchase didn’t go through.
For movement abilities, you can also test them directly.
For example, after unlocking Wall Climb, close the menu and find a climbable wall to make sure the ability is working.
How to Reset Skill Points
Made a mistake with your build?
You can reset your Skill Points.
Open the main menu again and select Shop from the sidebar.
The Shop contains several reset options, including Reset Skill Points, alongside options such as Reset Breathing, Reset Fighting Style, and Reset Reputation.
There are also temporary boosts available in the same section, including:
- 2x EXP
- 2x Mastery
- 2x Luck
- 2x Soul
The reset options can require the game’s available currencies depending on the option you’re selecting.
Use the Free Skill Point Reset Code
There is also a way to reset your Skill Points without spending your resources.
The code is:
POINTSRESET
To use it, join the Ouw Productions community, open the code redemption section from the game’s main menu, enter the code, and press the green Redeem button.
If the code is still active, the reset will return your spent Skill Points so you can rebuild your character.
Because Roblox game codes can expire or change, check the redemption screen if the code doesn’t work.
What Happens After a Skill Reset?
When the reset is applied, your spent points return to your available SKILL POINTS total.
The nodes you’ve previously purchased will return to their locked state, allowing you to build your character again from the beginning.
This is useful if you started investing heavily into one branch and later decided to change your weapon, Fighting Style, or overall build.
Skill Points vs. Resetting Your Build
I wouldn’t recommend resetting your Skill Tree every time you change your mind about a single upgrade.
Skill Points are tied directly to your leveling progression, so it’s better to think about your intended build before spending a large number of them.
Before buying a node, ask yourself:
- Does this help my current build?
- Is it required to reach an ability I actually want?
- Am I spending points on movement, survivability, or damage that I’ll use?
- How many points will I need for the next important ability?
This makes it much easier to avoid wasting points.
Best Way to Spend Skill Points in Slayers 2
For a new character, focus first on movement and survivability, then start investing heavily into your preferred combat branch.
Wall Climb and Double Jump make exploration and trainer progression much easier, while Health and Stamina give you more room to make mistakes during combat.
Once you have your preferred weapon, Fighting Style, or Breathing style, start building around it instead of spreading points across every available branch.
And if you do end up creating a build you don’t like, remember that you can reset the Skill Tree and redistribute your points rather than starting your character over.
