If you’re trying to get the Rod of the Singularity in Fisch and don’t want to waste time figuring out the quest on your own, this guide has you covered. The quest sends you through several secret locations and requires a bunch of rare catches, so knowing where to go beforehand can save you a lot of time.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through the fastest route, the best fishing setups for each requirement, all of the secret locations, and what you get once you finally complete everything.
Start at Abyssal Zenith
Your first stop should be Abyssal Zenith.
From there, you need to make your way down to a secret area where you’ll find the NPC that starts the quest.
Look for the small doorway in the area. Once you enter it, you’ll be teleported into the hidden location.
Talk to the NPC and you’ll receive the first part of the Rod of the Singularity quest.
There are several requirements to complete here, so it’s worth preparing your fishing setup before you start.
Catch a Sparkling or Shiny Celestial Crown Anglerfish
The first major requirement is to catch and return one Sparkling or Shiny Celestial Crown Anglerfish.
For this catch, the setup used in the video was:
- Celestial Rod for its buff
- Requiem Rod for the actual fishing
- Rainbow Totem
- Sparkling Totem
The idea is to use the Celestial Rod to get its useful buff and then switch over to the Requiem Rod.
You specifically need the fish to have the required Celestial status and either Sparkling or Shiny, so don’t accidentally turn in a normal version.
This can be one of the more annoying requirements if your RNG isn’t cooperating, so having the right Totems active is definitely worth it.
Catch the Nova Hardened Glass, Cerulean Fin, and Starlight Worm
Next, you need to catch and return:
- Nova Hardened Glass
- Cerulean Fin
- Starlight Worm
All three are obtained in the secret room at Abyssal Zenith.
For this part, make sure you have Aurora active before fishing.
Head into the secret room, start fishing, and work through the required catches.
Since these items can take some time depending on your Luck, I’d recommend using your strongest Luck setup rather than rushing through this section with a weaker rod.
Collect 12 Nova Gold Pieces
After finishing the Abyssal Zenith requirements, you’ll need 12 Nova Gold Pieces.
For these, the recommended setup is:
- Crab Cages
- Starlight Worm
- Mineshaft
Head to the Mineshaft and start collecting the required Nova Gold Pieces.
Using Crab Cages makes this section much more straightforward, and Starlight Worm helps with the required catch conditions.
Keep going until you’ve reached all 12.
Collect 12 Celestial Scrap Metal
The next requirement is 12 Celestial Scrap Metal.
For this one, head to the Depths during the day.
The recommended setup is:
- Celestial Rod
- Garbage Bait
Since you’re specifically looking for Scrap Metal, Garbage Bait is the obvious choice here.
Fish in the Depths until you’ve collected all 12 Celestial Scrap Metal, then move on to the next stage.
Go to Merlin
Once you’ve completed all of those first requirements, it’s time to find Merlin.
Make sure you’re going to Merlin and not the NPC who originally gave you the quest.
Merlin will give you another set of objectives, and this is where the quest becomes much more focused on secret locations.
You’ll need to obtain five different secret items:
- Stabilizer Core
- Unstable Crystal
- Umbral Matrix
- Singularity Control Unit
- Stellar Wiring
Each one is located in a different secret area.
Best Setup for the Secret Items
For these secret-area catches, the recommended setup is a Crew Rod combined with a high-Luck bait.
The exact item you’re looking for changes depending on the location, so don’t leave the area until you’ve obtained the required secret item.
Now let’s go through the locations one by one.
Secret Location 1 – Abyssal Zenith
You’ve already visited Abyssal Zenith for the first part of the quest, so this one should be familiar.
Return to the secret area and fish for the required item.
Make sure you have your high-Luck setup equipped because these are special catches and can take some time.
Once you’ve obtained the item, move on to Everturn.
Secret Location 2 – Everturn
For the next secret area, travel to Everturn.
Look for the large pond area.
Once you reach the pond, you’ll find a small gateway.
Jump into the gateway and you’ll be teleported to the next secret fishing area.
From there, simply fish for the required secret item.
This is one of the easier locations to reach once you know where the gateway is, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting back here later if you need another attempt.
Secret Location 3 – Snow Cap
Next, head to Snow Cap.
There is an important requirement here: you need a Blue Moon Totem.
Before activating it, make sure you have a clear night. You can’t simply activate the Blue Moon Totem whenever you want.
Once the conditions are correct, activate the totem and head into the required area.
Jump down into the opening and you’ll reach another secret fishing location.
Fish here until you’ve obtained the required item.
Secret Location 4 – Cryogenic
After Snow Cap, travel to Cryogenic.
From spawn, make your way underneath the bridge.
Keep following the route around and head all the way toward the bottom.
Eventually, you’ll find a door.
This door leads to the next secret area needed for the quest.
You don’t need to spend time wandering around the entire area. Once you’ve located the door, you know exactly where to return if you need to make another attempt.
Secret Location 5 – Boreal Pines
The final secret location is in Boreal Pines.
From the spawn area, head toward the nearby ice lake.
Once you find the lake, you’ll need to enter it.
Be careful here because you can actually die in this area if you’re not careful.
Make your way toward the center of the ice lake and look for the hidden entrance.
Once you find it, you’ll reach the final secret fishing area.
Fish there until you obtain the last required item.
Return to Merlin
Once you’ve collected all five secret items:
- Stabilizer Core
- Unstable Crystal
- Umbral Matrix
- Singularity Control Unit
- Stellar Wiring
Head back to Merlin.
Talk to Merlin and turn in everything you’ve collected.
If you’ve completed all of the previous objectives correctly, Merlin will finally reward you with the Rod of the Singularity.
And yes, after all of those secret areas and rare catches, you finally get the rod you’ve been working toward.
Rod of the Singularity Stats
The Rod of the Singularity has some extremely strong stats:
- Lure Speed: 618%
- Luck: 287%
- Control: 0.08
- Resilience: 28%
- Max Kg: Infinite
Its passive is called Worlds Collide.
The rod also has a very unique fishing interface, which makes it stand out from many other rods in Fisch.
How the Rod of the Singularity Fishing Mechanic Works
The first thing you’ll notice when casting with the rod is the unusual fishing bar.
The fish initially moves very quickly, but once you successfully position the bar over it, the movement starts to slow down.
This makes the rod feel strange at first.
The fishing bar also moves in a very unusual way and can feel extremely slow during certain parts of the catch.
I actually think this is one of the coolest parts of the rod because it gives it a completely different feeling from a standard fishing rod.
The Rod Can Give You Umbra
Another interesting feature is the ability to obtain Umbra through the rod’s mechanic.
Seeing the Umbra effect appear while using the Rod of the Singularity is definitely one of the highlights of the showcase.
The visual effect also fits the whole cosmic theme of the rod really well.
Fastest Rod of the Singularity Route
If you want to keep the whole process organized, here’s the route I’d follow:
- Start at Abyssal Zenith.
- Enter the secret doorway and talk to the quest NPC.
- Catch the Sparkling or Shiny Celestial Crown Anglerfish.
- Catch the Nova Hardened Glass, Cerulean Fin, and Starlight Worm.
- Collect 12 Nova Gold Pieces using Crab Cages in the Mineshaft.
- Collect 12 Celestial Scrap Metal in the Depths during the day.
- Go to Merlin.
- Obtain the Stabilizer Core.
- Travel to Everturn and use the gateway to reach the next secret area.
- Go to Snow Cap with a Blue Moon Totem during a clear night.
- Visit Cryogenic and find the door beneath the bridge.
- Travel to Boreal Pines and enter the ice lake.
- Collect all five secret items.
- Return to Merlin.
- Claim the Rod of the Singularity.
Final Thoughts
The Rod of the Singularity definitely isn’t a free or easy rod to obtain, but you can save yourself a lot of time by knowing the route before starting.
The biggest things I’d prepare beforehand are a strong Luck setup, the required Totems, Garbage Bait, Starlight Worms, and a Crew Rod for the secret catches.
Once you know where the hidden entrances are, the quest becomes much less confusing. The only part you really can’t control is the RNG, especially when you’re hunting for the rarer mutations and secret items.
But after completing everything, you’re rewarded with a rod that has 618% Lure Speed, 287% Luck, Infinite Max Kg, and a unique fishing mechanic.
For anyone who enjoys collecting the strongest and strangest rods in Fisch, the Rod of the Singularity is absolutely worth the grind.
