One of the first major decisions you’ll make in Devil Hunter is choosing a division. At first glance, it can seem like an important choice, and plenty of new players spend time wondering which division gives the best rewards or strongest benefits.
The good news is that you don’t need to stress over it.
After looking through all six divisions, there isn’t a single “must-pick” option that completely outclasses the others. Each division has its own questline, but in the long run they’re all perfectly viable. My advice is simple: choose the division whose requirements are easiest for you to complete and keep progressing.
Below, you’ll find every Division Captain location along with the quest requirements for each one.
Division 1 Location
Division 1 is the first division most players will come across.
To join, you’ll need to complete a short combat-focused quest.
Division 1 Quest Requirements
- Defeat 5 Devils
- Deal 2,500 total damage
These objectives are straightforward and can usually be completed just by exploring the map and fighting regular enemies.
If you’re still getting comfortable with combat, Division 1 is a solid starting point.
Division 2 Location
The Division 2 Captain is found in another section of headquarters and focuses more on crafting than combat.
Division 2 Quest Requirements
To complete the Division 2 quest, you’ll need to:
- Obtain Common Devil Flesh
- Interact with a Crafting Station
- Craft a weapon
If you’ve already been collecting materials while playing, this quest can be finished fairly quickly.
Division 3 Location
Division 3 introduces contracts into the progression system.
Instead of simply defeating enemies, you’ll need to interact with Devils that offer contracts.
Division 3 Quest Requirements
- Defeat a Devil that offers a contract.
- Complete one Devil Bounty Contract.
These Devils naturally appear while exploring the world, so you won’t usually need to go far out of your way to find one.
Division 4 Location
Unlike the earlier divisions, the Division 4 Captain is located on the second floor, so you’ll need to use the elevator to reach this area.
This division focuses more heavily on missions and PvP.
Division 4 Quest Requirements
- Successfully complete a mission.
- Defeat another player.
- Successfully complete an Intercept Mission.
This is one of the more challenging division quests since it combines both PvE and PvP objectives.
Division 5 Location
If you’re looking for one of the quickest division quests, Division 5 is a great option.
Division 5 Quest Requirements
- Purchase any item from the Black Market.
- Take the elevator to Floor 0.
Both objectives are simple and don’t require much combat, making Division 5 one of the easiest divisions to unlock.
Division 6 Location
Division 6 has a unique set of objectives centered around healing and NPC interaction.
Division 6 Quest Requirements
- Use a Surgery Kit.
- Speak with Senior Devil Hunter Dorian Graves.
As long as you know where Dorian Graves is located and have access to a Surgery Kit, this quest doesn’t take very long to finish.
Which Division Should You Choose?
This is easily the question most new players ask.
After comparing every division, there really isn’t one that stands far above the rest.
Each division has different objectives, but none of them provides such a large long-term advantage that you should feel forced into picking it.
Instead, choose based on whichever quest matches your current progress.
For example:
- Division 1 is great for players already fighting Devils.
- Division 2 works well if you’ve started collecting crafting materials.
- Division 3 is ideal if you’re already completing Devil Contracts.
- Division 4 is better suited for players comfortable with PvP.
- Division 5 is one of the quickest and easiest divisions to unlock.
- Division 6 is a simple option if you already have the required healing item and know where Dorian Graves is.
Best Division for Beginners
If you’re just starting your Devil Hunter journey, I’d recommend either Division 1 or Division 5.
Division 1 teaches the core combat mechanics, while Division 5 has very simple objectives that can be completed in just a few minutes.
However, don’t worry too much about making the “wrong” decision. The developers have designed the division system so that every path remains useful, meaning your choice won’t permanently hold you back.
Choosing a division in Devil Hunter is much less about finding the strongest faction and more about selecting the questline you can finish the fastest. Every division has its own objectives, ranging from combat and crafting to PvP and exploration, but none of them offers a major long-term advantage over the others.
If you’re unsure which one to join, simply pick the division whose requirements fit your current playstyle. That approach will let you progress more quickly without worrying about whether you’ve chosen the “best” division.
