The latest Anime Card Clash update has completely replaced the old Demon Invasion event with a brand-new Underworld Invasion mode. Along with the new event comes a fresh progression system, several powerful cards, new bundles, skins, and a marketplace where players can trade event resources.
If you just logged in and aren’t sure what everything does, don’t worry. The update introduces quite a few new mechanics, and some menus are even a little buggy at launch. Here’s everything you need to know.
Underworld Invasion Replaces Demon Invasion
The biggest change in this update is the removal of the old Demon Invasion event.
Instead, players now have access to Underworld Invasion, a new event that focuses on completing missions, earning Cracked Crystals, upgrading your progress, and unlocking exclusive rewards.
Unlike what many players expected, you don’t summon special event cards for battles. You’ll continue using your own existing deck throughout the event.
How Underworld Invasion Works
After entering the event, you’ll see several different sections.
These include:
- Crystal Farm
- Magic Market
- Underworld Invasion
- Upgrades
- Event Shop
Each one plays a different role in helping you progress through the event.
Crystal Farm Explained
The Crystal Farm is one of the most important additions.
During the event, you’ll earn Cracked Crystals by completing missions.
These crystals aren’t immediately usable.
Instead, you’ll place them inside the Crystal Farm where they’ll slowly become Polished Crystals over time.
If you played during the Halloween event, this mechanic will probably feel familiar since it works similarly to the Pumpkin system.
Can You Speed Up Crystal Polishing?
Yes.
There are two ways to finish polishing faster:
- Spend Robux to polish instantly.
- Use Magic Essence, which reduces the remaining polishing time.
If you’re playing free-to-play, it’s usually better to let the crystals finish naturally instead of spending premium currency.
Magic Market Guide
The Magic Market is divided into two different sections.
Shop
The Shop is where you’ll spend your event currency.
Rewards include:
- Exclusive skins
- Brand-new event cards
- Higher-tier rewards
- Additional cosmetic items
As you unlock higher tiers, better rewards become available.
Stalls
The Stalls feature introduces a player-driven marketplace.
Here’s how it works:
- Sell your Polished Crystals at your own stall.
- Purchase crystals from other players.
- Buying from another player’s stall costs around 90% of the listed price, while the seller receives a commission.
It’s essentially a trading system that benefits both buyers and sellers.
If you find a good price, it’s often faster than waiting to farm everything yourself.
Underworld Invasion Missions
The event is built around clearing mission waves.
When starting, you’ll notice several mission difficulties.
The easier missions are perfect for quickly farming event materials.
Completing missions rewards items such as:
- Cracked Crystals
- Magic Essence
- Yen
- Event progression
Higher difficulties are expected to provide better rewards once your team becomes stronger.
Event Upgrades
The update also introduces a permanent upgrade menu for the event.
Some available upgrades include:
- Mission Slots
- Party Slots
- Party Position upgrades
- Additional progression bonuses
Some players have reported that certain upgrade options appear maxed or bugged immediately after launch, so expect a few fixes in future patches.
All New Cards Added in the Update
The Underworld Invasion update introduces several powerful cards inspired by popular anime series.
Many of them also introduce completely new mechanics.
Sorcerer Killer
Sorcerer Killer specializes in counterattacks and summons.
Highlights include:
- Summons a Curse Spirit at battle start
- Gains Dodge chance
- Counters incoming attacks
- Places Bounty debuffs on enemies
- Restores health after defeating marked targets
This card is designed around surviving while punishing aggressive opponents.
Curse Spirit
Rather than being pulled directly, Curse Spirit is summoned through another card’s skill.
It changes equipped cursed tools depending on battle conditions.
Different weapons grant unique bonuses, including:
- Unblockable attacks
- Higher damage
- Follow-up attacks
- Stun effects
This is one of the update’s newest gameplay mechanics.
Unbound Sorcerer
Unbound Sorcerer stores damage inside the Soul Split Katana.
That stored damage is later converted into additional attacks before eventually becoming permanent bonus stats after defeating enemies.
It focuses heavily on scaling throughout long battles.
Disgraced Sorcerer
Disgraced Sorcerer follows a similar Soul Split Katana mechanic but also activates Fusion Mode under certain conditions.
If Sorcerer Killer is in your party, the card eventually transforms into a much stronger version.
Demon Triad Cards
Three different Demon Triad members arrive in this update.
They clearly perform best when played together.
Each one gains additional bonuses if the other Demon Triad cards are present.
Their abilities focus on:
- Bleed effects
- Healing prevention
- Gravity mechanics
- Team-wide buffs
- Stasis
- Bonus stats
- Self healing
Building the full trio appears to unlock their strongest potential.
Demon Empress
Demon Empress spreads random status effects across enemies.
Instead of disappearing, those effects remain dormant before activating later.
After dying, she can even possess an allied card, transferring part of her power to continue supporting the team.
Demon Monarch
Demon Monarch creates a Gravity Field that continuously damages enemies.
Some of its strongest abilities include:
- Passive area damage
- Unblockable attacks
- Removing bonus damage buffs
- Possession mechanics after death
It looks like one of the strongest late-game units introduced this update.
Royal Paladin
Royal Paladin is built around shields and stored damage.
Its Dragon spell damages both the frontline and backline while creating powerful defensive shields that can even transfer to teammates after breaking.
This makes it a solid option for defensive teams.
Awakened Soul King
Awakened Soul King introduces another interesting mechanic.
The card:
- Always attacks first
- Steals enemy souls
- Copies enemy stats after defeating them
- Uses collected souls as follow-up attacks
If paired with the proper companion card, it can trigger another Fusion interaction.
New Bundles
Several new premium bundles have also arrived.
Some of the featured cards include:
- Awakened Soul King
- Bone Demon Triad
- Unbound Sorcerer
- Other newly released event cards
If you’re planning to spend Gems or premium currency, these bundles contain most of the update’s headline units.
New Underworld Skins
The update doesn’t only add cards.
Several exclusive Underworld-themed skins are now available through the event shop and premium bundles.
Collectors will likely want to farm these before the event ends since many event cosmetics don’t return for quite some time.
Current Launch Bugs
Like many major updates, Underworld Invasion launched with a few small issues.
Players have already noticed:
- Some new cards not appearing immediately after the update.
- Certain upgrade menus showing incorrect values.
- Mission windows occasionally failing to open until leaving and re-entering another menu.
- UI elements occasionally displaying outdated information.
Fortunately, none of these bugs appear to prevent overall event progression.
New Redeem Code
A new redeem code mentioned alongside the update is:
BLACKLOVER6210
Redeem it as soon as possible, since event codes in Anime Card Clash can expire without much warning.
