Anime Card Clash has received a brand-new update, and this time the game introduces the Tower of Deity, a new event mode with multiple waves, fights, upgrades, techniques, rewards, new cards, and more. At first glance, the name makes it sound like another Battle Tower, but the mode actually works quite differently.
In this post, I’ll go through everything added in the new Tower of Deity update, including how the new tower works, the rewards you can earn, the new upgrade system, event cards, techniques, and some of the problems you may run into while playing.
I’ll also cover the new codes that were added with the update, along with some tips for building a team and surviving the later waves. So, if you’re trying to understand the new Tower of Deity content in Anime Card Clash, this guide should give you everything you need to know.
Anime Card Clash Tower of Deity Update Guide – Codes
The Tower of Deity is the main new content added in this Anime Card Clash update.
The update describes it as a new tower where you progress through multiple stages and fight different enemy parties. However, instead of functioning like the traditional Battle Tower, it plays more like the older Demon Invasion-style modes.
The main difference is that you progress through waves of enemies, with each wave containing multiple fights.
You also have to be careful with your team’s health because your cards don’t simply get fully healed between fights. This makes the later waves considerably harder than the earlier ones.
How the Tower of Deity Works
When you enter the Tower of Deity, you can select a deck and begin fighting through the waves.
The general progression looks like this:
- Enter the Tower of Deity.
- Select your team.
- Fight through the waves.
- Earn rewards from clearing waves.
- Use the new event currency for upgrades.
- Unlock additional rewards and cards as you progress.
- Continue as far as your team can survive.
There are multiple enemy parties throughout the tower, and the difficulty increases as you progress.
One important thing to remember is that your team’s health becomes a major factor. A team that easily handles the first wave can start struggling badly in the later stages.
Tower of Deity Waves and Fights
The new mode uses a wave-based progression system instead of simply giving you separate easy, medium, and hard difficulties like some of the older event modes.
The gameplay shown in the update starts with the early waves and gradually increases the enemy difficulty.
Some fights can become surprisingly difficult very early on. During testing, enemies were already dealing around 10,000 damage, which made some powerful cards lose huge amounts of health much faster than expected.
This becomes especially noticeable when you reach later waves.
Auto Continue
The Tower of Deity includes an Auto Continue option, allowing your team to automatically move into the next fight after clearing the current one.
There is also an Auto Rechallenge option.
These settings are useful if you’re trying to farm the mode without manually starting every fight.
However, don’t assume Auto Continue means your team will survive indefinitely. If your cards get destroyed, the run can come to an end and you may have to restart from an earlier wave.
Tower of Deity Rewards
One of the main rewards from clearing the tower is 250,000 packs.
The first clear rewards are particularly useful because you can receive packs for completing certain stages for the first time.
However, some rewards appear to be one-time rewards, meaning you shouldn’t expect to receive the same first-clear bonus every time you replay the tower.
There are also repeatable rewards available as you progress through the event.
Tower of Deity Event Upgrades
The update introduces a new upgrade system that can be accessed while playing the event.
One of the main resources used for these upgrades is referred to in the gameplay as Shinszu.
The biggest problem is that the amount required for upgrades is extremely high compared with how much you earn from clearing the event.
For example, some higher-level upgrades require thousands of the resource.
Shinszu Farming
The event appears to give only around 30 Shinszu per clear in the mode shown in the gameplay.
This makes some of the higher upgrade levels extremely expensive to reach.
For example, reaching higher upgrade levels can require thousands of Shinszu, meaning you would need to complete a large number of runs to reach the more expensive upgrades.
This is one of the biggest complaints surrounding the new event.
New Tower of Deity Upgrades
There are several different upgrade categories available.
The update includes upgrades related to things such as:
- Battle speed
- Damage
- Techniques
- Luck
- Other combat effects
One of the techniques mentioned in the gameplay is Fisherman Instinct.
When below 50% HP, it can provide a 15% damage increase for the rest of the battle.
Another ability mentioned is Lightbearer, which marks an enemy and provides a damage bonus against that target.
There are many upgrades available, so you don’t necessarily need to unlock everything immediately.
Because the costs become very high, it’s worth thinking about which upgrades will actually benefit the team you’re using.
New Techniques
The Tower of Deity also includes a technique system.
You can spend event resources to roll for techniques, with even the cheaper options requiring a significant amount of currency.
Some techniques provide offensive bonuses, while others can improve your team’s performance under certain conditions.
The important thing is that technique costs are much higher than the amount of event currency you receive from individual clears, so unlocking a large number of techniques can take a lot of farming.
New Cards in the Tower of Deity Update
The update also adds several new cards.
Some of the new cards are unlocked through the event’s reward tiers rather than being directly purchased from a traditional event shop.
The first new card becomes available around Tier 6, with additional cards appearing in later tiers.
The update includes several new characters and cards, including:
- Awakened Irregular King of Tower
- 10th Slayer
- Prince of J
- Black Snake Head Turtle
- Lightbearer Lighthouse
- Pixie
- Other new event-related cards
Some of the characters may be unfamiliar if you haven’t watched the anime or series they are based on.
New Support Card: Lightbearer Lighthouse
One of the cards shown in the update is Lightbearer Lighthouse, which works as a support card.
The update also includes several other cards connected to the new event and its reward tiers.
You’ll need to progress through the event to unlock the different reward tiers containing these cards.
New Skins and Other Content
The Tower of Deity update isn’t only about the new game mode.
There are also:
- New skins
- New card changes
- New bundles
- New rewards
- New event packs
- Balance changes
- Card skill changes
The update log contains a large number of changes, so not every change will affect every player’s current team.
Why Is Tower of Deity So Difficult?
One of the biggest surprises with the new mode is how much damage the enemies can deal.
During the gameplay, cards that would normally be considered extremely powerful were losing huge amounts of health.
Some enemies were dealing around 10,000 damage, even during relatively early waves.
This can make the tower feel much harder than expected.
The difficulty is also affected by the fact that healing doesn’t work normally in the mode.
Because your team doesn’t simply return to full health after every fight, damage taken early in the run can become a major problem later.
Healing Doesn’t Work Normally
This is one of the most important things to understand before entering the tower.
The gameplay showed that healing wasn’t working as expected.
Because of this, cards can gradually become weaker as they take damage throughout the run.
A team that relies heavily on healing may therefore perform differently than it does in other Anime Card Clash modes.
Instead, you’ll want cards that can deal enough damage quickly while also surviving the incoming attacks.
What Happens When Your Team Dies?
If your entire party gets defeated, you may have to return to an earlier wave rather than simply continuing from where you died.
This can make failed runs particularly frustrating.
For example, after reaching a later wave and losing the entire team, the run can force you back toward the beginning instead of allowing you to continue from the furthest point you reached.
Because of this, surviving is just as important as dealing damage.
Best Team for Tower of Deity
There isn’t a single confirmed team that works for everyone, but the gameplay used a combination of powerful cards to try to survive the tower.
The team included cards such as:
- Secret Helm
- Star Jockey
- Zamasu
- Triumph-related cards
- Other high-damage cards
The exact setup may change as players discover better combinations.
Since the tower has different enemy waves and healing limitations, you should focus on cards that can consistently deal damage while staying alive for as long as possible.
Can You AFK Tower of Deity?
One useful feature of the new event is that you can enable Auto Continue and allow your team to fight automatically.
This makes the event potentially useful for AFK farming.
If your team is strong enough to survive multiple waves, you can leave Auto Continue running and collect packs and other rewards without manually starting every battle.
However, weaker teams can eventually get wiped out, so you shouldn’t assume every team can AFK the entire event successfully.
Tower of Deity Packs
The event also provides a large number of packs.
While the new cards aren’t simply available from a normal event shop, the event does provide plenty of opportunities to obtain packs through progression and repeatable rewards.
This means the event can still be useful for players who are trying to build up their collection.
New Codes for the Tower of Deity Update
The update also introduced several new codes.
The codes mentioned in the gameplay are:
- DD1
- DD2
- DD3
- DD4
- DD5
These codes provide 250,000 packs and other rewards, although some codes may have progression requirements before they can be redeemed.
For example, the gameplay specifically mentions that DD3 gives two 250,000 rewards, while DD5 gives ten 250,000 rewards.
If you’re playing Anime Card Clash, make sure to redeem the available Tower of Deity codes as soon as possible because event codes can expire.
Card Skill Changes
The update also includes a large number of card skill changes.
Some of the changes mentioned in the update log include adjustments to:
- Lost Area
- Star Jockey
- Willow Conquest
- Fatal hit negation
- Damage reduction
- Rotation evolution
- Other card interactions
Not every change will have a major impact on every team, so you’ll want to check the individual card descriptions if you regularly use one of the affected cards.
Star Jockey Changes
Star Jockey also received changes in the update.
The update notes mention changes involving Rotation Evolution, including adjustments related to internal damage reduction and lockout behavior.
If you’re already using Star Jockey, it’s worth testing the card again after the update because changes to skill interactions can affect how the card performs.
Willow Conquest Changes
Willow Conquest also received an adjustment.
The update notes mention that its dominant effect no longer stacks with another form of fatal-hit negation.
This means certain combinations that previously allowed multiple defensive effects to interact may now work differently.
Is Tower of Deity Worth Farming?
The Tower of Deity can be useful if you’re looking for packs, event resources, upgrades, and the new cards.
The main drawback is the amount of grinding required for some of the upgrades.
The event gives relatively small amounts of Shinszu compared with the thousands required for some upgrades, so reaching the higher upgrade levels can take a significant amount of time.
On the other hand, players with strong teams can potentially use Auto Continue to farm the event and collect repeatable rewards.
The Tower of Deity is a new take on the Demon Invasion-style gameplay in Anime Card Clash, rather than the completely new Battle Tower experience some players may have expected.
The update adds a lot of content, including new cards, upgrades, techniques, packs, skins, balance changes, and event codes. However, the extremely high upgrade costs and the difficulty of keeping your team alive can make the event frustrating.
The biggest things to remember are that healing doesn’t work normally, your team’s health carries a lot of importance between fights, and the Shinszu requirements for higher upgrades are extremely expensive.
If you have a strong enough team, Auto Continue can make the event useful for farming packs and resources. Just don’t expect every team to survive the later waves automatically.
And don’t forget to redeem the new DD1 through DD5 codes while they’re available.
