If you’re trying to complete the Astral Observatory Bestiary in Fisch, you’re in for a bit more traveling than usual. The fish aren’t all concentrated in one fishing spot, so you’ll need to visit several hidden Astral Caverns and pools around the map.
I’ve put together the locations, coordinates, bait, weather, season, and time requirements below so you can work through the Bestiary without constantly running back and forth.
Important: The information provided lists 21 fish so far, even though the Bestiary is referred to as having 32 fish. The remaining entries/locations may still need to be added as they are discovered.
All 32 Fish in Astral Observatory in Fisch – Bestiary Guide
The Astral Observatory is made up of multiple secret fishing locations spread throughout Fisch. You’ll need to visit each relevant pool to find everything required for the Bestiary.
Here are the locations covered in the current list:
- Boreal Hollow
- Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern
- Snowcap Blue Moon Astral Cavern
- Abyssal Zenith Astral Cavern
- Everturn Forest Astral Cavern
Let’s go through each one.
Boreal Hollow Location
Boreal Hollow is a hidden cave located on Boreal Pines Island.
The approximate coordinates are:
(21385, 249, 3816)
First, head toward the Northern Expedition and make your way to Boreal Pines. From there, travel north and slightly northeast until you find the cave entrance.
Once inside, you’ll reach the Boreal Hollow fishing spot.
This area is especially important because several Astral Observatory fish can be caught here, including some of the rarer entries.
Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern Location
This secret fishing area is located within the Northern Expedition.
Travel to the Cryogenic Canal, which is the third base camp on the Northern Expedition.
From there, head toward the slope bridge around:
(20047, 610, 5857)
Look for the cave entrance and drop down into the area below. At the bottom, you’ll notice a brick section with a dark opening nearby.
Walk through that dark area to enter the Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern.
This is also the location where you can catch Quartz Glass, which is particularly important because it’s required for certain quests.
Snowcap Blue Moon Astral Cavern Location
This one is a little more complicated because you’ll need access to a Blue Moon.
The Blue Moon only appears during the Winter Season, so you’ll need to wait for the appropriate season.
Head to Snowcap Island and purchase a Blue Moon Totem for:
1,200,000 C$
The totem can be found around:
(2717, 141, 2480)
After activating the Blue Moon, head toward:
(2698, 188, 2563)
You’ll find the Blue Moon Door there.
Drop down and look for the additional secret entrance that leads into the Snowcap Blue Moon Astral Cavern.
This location contains several higher-rarity Astral fish, so you’ll definitely want to visit it while working toward completion.
Abyssal Zenith Astral Cavern Location
For the Abyssal Zenith cavern, you’ll first need a Submarine so you can enter Mariana’s Veil.
Once you’re there, find the main Abyssal Zenith Pool and dive down into it.
At approximately:
(-13774, -11179, 173)
you’ll find a dark opening at the bottom of the pool.
Enter this opening to reach the hidden Abyssal Zenith Astral Cavern.
This is another important location for the Bestiary because it contains several rare, mythical, exotic, and secret catches.
Everturn Forest Astral Cavern Location
For the final location currently listed, head to Everturn Forest.
Follow the on-screen marker toward the center of the area and look for the pond/waterfall section.
The approximate coordinates are:
(2466, 140, -2618)
Look toward the left side of the area and you’ll find an opening leading into the Everturn Forest Astral Cavern.
Once inside, you can fish for several Astral Observatory entries that aren’t available at the other locations.

How to Catch the Rarer Astral Fish
The higher-rarity fish are naturally going to take longer, so don’t worry if you don’t complete each location in a few casts.
For the Exotic and Secret entries, pay particular attention to the bait and conditions. Several of them use Magnet, which makes preparing the right bait beforehand much easier than wasting time trying random options.
For example:
- Goliath Siphonophore requires Squid bait during Winter at night with Clear weather.
- Quartz Glass is much easier condition-wise because it can appear in any weather.
- Frozen Glass requires Magnet and is found at the Snowcap Blue Moon Astral Cavern at night.
- Hardened Glass is found at Abyssal Zenith using Magnet.
- Stellar Wiring requires Magnet during Foggy weather at night.
- Stabilizer Core requires Magnet during Clear weather at night.
So if you’re specifically hunting Secret fish, it’s worth preparing your bait and waiting for the correct conditions instead of simply fishing nonstop.
Don’t Forget Quartz Glass
Quartz Glass deserves special attention because it’s not just another Bestiary entry.
You can catch it at the Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern using Magnet bait, and it doesn’t have a specific weather or season requirement.
That makes it one of the more straightforward Exotic catches in this list.
If you’re working on a quest that requires Quartz Glass, this is the fishing spot you want rather than searching through the regular Northern Expedition waters.
Best Way to Complete the Astral Observatory Bestiary
I’d recommend completing the Bestiary by location rather than chasing individual fish randomly.
Start with Boreal Hollow, since it has a large number of entries across several rarities. Then move to the Cryogenic Canal cavern and collect the fish there.
After that, work through:
Boreal Hollow → Cryogenic Canal → Everturn Forest → Snowcap Blue Moon → Abyssal Zenith
Keep your bait stocked before traveling to each location. This saves a surprising amount of time, especially when you’re targeting the Secret and Exotic fish.
For seasonal catches, don’t waste time fishing outside the required season. Move on to another location and come back when the conditions are right.
Astral Observatory Bestiary Checklist
For an easy way to track your progress, use this checklist:

The Astral Observatory is definitely more of a travel-and-preparation Bestiary than a simple fishing grind. Once you know where each hidden cavern is and arrive with the correct bait, though, the process becomes much easier.
And if you’re going for 100%, I’d keep an eye on the Bestiary as new Astral Observatory entries are discovered, since the currently provided list contains 21 of the 32 claimed fish.
