Axel and Orserk are the third Tower Boss in Palworld Version 1.0. Located inside the Eternal Pyre Tower, this battle becomes much more demanding than previous tower fights due to Orserk’s powerful Dragon and Electric attacks. Bringing Ground and Ice-type Pals, upgrading your equipment, and targeting Axel’s weak point are the keys to winning this encounter.

How to Beat Axel and Orserk
Reach Level 30 or Higher
You should be at least Level 30 before attempting this battle.
By this point you’ll have access to much stronger equipment including:
- Makeshift Shotgun
- Handgun
- Cold Resistant Metal Armor
- Metal Helm
- Giga Shield
These upgrades significantly improve both your damage output and survivability.
Try to Obtain Legendary Equipment
Legendary versions of weapons and armor offer considerably higher stats than their standard counterparts.
Although Legendary Schematics are rare drops from Alpha Bosses, crafting even one Legendary weapon can make the tower battle much easier.
If you’ve already been farming Alpha Pals, it’s worth checking whether you’ve obtained any useful schematics before entering the tower.
Equip Combat Accessories
Accessories become increasingly valuable as tower bosses become stronger.
Items that increase Attack, Defense, Health, or survivability provide noticeable benefits during long encounters, so equip your strongest accessories before entering the fight.
Use the Arena Pillars
Orserk frequently attacks from range with Electric abilities.
Fortunately, many of these projectiles can be blocked by the pillars scattered around the arena.
Fight near a pillar whenever possible, using it as cover while reloading, healing, or waiting for your Pal’s abilities to recharge.
Aim Directly at Axel
Tower Bosses have weak points that receive bonus damage.
During this fight, Axel himself is the weak point.
When using guns or other ranged weapons, try to keep your aim on Axel instead of Orserk. Successful weak point hits deal noticeably higher damage and help shorten the battle.
Bring Ground and Ice-Type Pals
Orserk is both a Dragon and Electric Pal.
Because of this, Ground and Ice attacks are extremely effective.
Useful offensive skills include:
- Blizzard Spike
- Earth Impact
- Other high-power Ice and Ground moves
Ground Pals resist Electric attacks, while Ice Pals perform well against Dragon enemies, allowing you to rotate between them as needed.
Use Strong Passive Skills
Passive Skills can dramatically increase your performance against Axel and Orserk.
Good offensive options include:
- Power of Gaia – increases Ground damage.
- Coldblooded – increases Ice damage.
For defense, useful choices include:
- Dragonkiller – reduces Dragon damage.
- Insulated Body – reduces Electric damage.
These passives become especially valuable when bred onto high-level combat Pals.
Breed Better Combat Pals
Breeding allows offspring to inherit multiple powerful Passive Skills.
Taking time to breed stronger combat Pals with offensive and defensive passives will noticeably improve your success against later Tower Bosses.
Use Partner Skills That Boost Elemental Damage
Several Partner Skills further increase Ground or Ice damage.
Some of the best options include:
- Dumud – boosts Ground-type attacks.
- Foxcicle – boosts Ice-type attacks.
Keeping these Pals in your party can increase your primary combat Pal’s damage without requiring them to stay active throughout the entire fight.
Teach Ice or Ground Skills
If your favorite combat Pal isn’t naturally Ground or Ice-type, you can still give it powerful elemental attacks using Skill Fruits.
Skill Fruit Trees throughout the world occasionally produce Ice and Ground Skill Fruits that let almost any Pal exploit Orserk’s weaknesses.
Upgrade Your Pals
By this stage of the game, upgrading your Pals becomes increasingly important.
Use a Statue of Power to improve:
- HP
- Attack
- Defense
These percentage-based bonuses become much stronger on high-level Pals with naturally high stats.
Rank Up Pals with the Pal Essence Condenser
The Pal Essence Condenser permanently improves a Pal’s base stats and increases the strength of its Partner Skill.
Fully condensed combat Pals deal significantly more damage while also becoming much tougher, making them excellent choices for Tower Boss battles.
Best Pals for Axel and Orserk
Anubis
Anubis is arguably the strongest Ground attacker available around this point in the game. Its excellent mobility and powerful Ground attacks make it one of the best choices against Orserk.
Mammorest Cryst
As both an Ice and Ground-type Pal, Mammorest Cryst naturally exploits both of Orserk’s weaknesses while also boasting excellent durability.
Azurobe Cryst
Azurobe Cryst provides powerful Ice attacks while also offering a Partner Skill that increases the player’s Attack and converts weapon damage to Ice, greatly improving overall damage output.
Foxcicle
Foxcicle’s Partner Skill increases the damage dealt by Ice-type Pals, making it one of the best support options for this encounter.
Dumud
Dumud boosts Ground-type attacks through its Partner Skill while also serving as a solid defensive switch against Electric attacks.
Best Weapons
Makeshift Shotgun
The Makeshift Shotgun delivers extremely high burst damage whenever Axel is within range, making it one of the strongest weapons for this encounter.
Handgun
Players who prefer keeping their distance can use the Handgun instead. Its accuracy makes landing weak-point shots on Axel much easier.
Best Armor
Cold Resistant Metal Armor
Provides excellent defense while protecting you from the harsh environment surrounding the Volcano region.
Metal Helm
A straightforward defensive upgrade that increases overall survivability.
Giga Shield
The Giga Shield offers significantly more protection than earlier shields and absorbs a large amount of incoming damage before your health is affected.
Rewards for Defeating Axel and Orserk
