If you’ve just reached Sea 3 in Haze Seas, you’ve probably heard people talking about the new Rainbow Haki. Some players are calling it a secret Haki, while others think it’s unfinished content. After checking everything currently available in the update, here’s exactly how the unlock process works and what you can (and can’t) do right now.
The good news is that most of the requirements are already in the game. The only part that appears to be missing is the final crafting material, which means you can prepare everything in advance and finish the unlock as soon as the developers enable it.
Where to Start the Rainbow Haki Quest
The Rainbow Haki quest begins in Sea 3.
Once you arrive in Sea 3, look for the Rainbow Haki quest NPC. Interacting with this NPC starts the quest and explains what you need to do before you can obtain the new Haki.
The requirement is surprisingly simple:
- Collect 12 different Haki colors
- Return to the Rainbow Haki NPC
- Provide the required crafting material
At first glance it sounds easy, but you’ll need quite a bit of luck if you haven’t unlocked many Haki colors yet.
How to Get 12 Different Haki Colors
The NPC that changes your Haki color is located right behind the Rainbow Haki quest NPC, so you don’t have to travel far.
Simply interact with the Haki Color NPC and keep rolling until you’ve collected 12 unique colors.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Duplicate colors don’t count.
- You need 12 different colors, not 12 total rolls.
- If you’re unlucky, expect to spend quite a few rerolls before completing the collection.
If you’ve been playing for a while, you may already have several colors unlocked, making this step much faster.
Return to the Rainbow Haki NPC
Once you’ve collected all 12 unique Haki colors, head back to the Rainbow Haki NPC.
The NPC will recognize that you’ve completed the color requirement and move you to the final step.
However, this is where most players currently get stuck.
The Missing Requirement: Prismatic Shard
After collecting all 12 Haki colors, the NPC asks for a Prismatic Shard.
At the moment, nobody has found a confirmed method to obtain this item.
Many players initially assumed it would be crafted through the Forge NPC, but it doesn’t currently appear in the crafting menu. Because of that, it’s widely believed that the item either:
- Hasn’t been added yet.
- Is tied to content that hasn’t been enabled.
- Will become available in a future patch.
Until the developers officially release the Prismatic Shard, the Rainbow Haki quest cannot be fully completed.
Is Rainbow Haki Obtainable Right Now?
As of the current Sea 3 update, not completely.
You can finish the first objective by collecting all 12 Haki colors, but you’ll eventually be blocked by the missing Prismatic Shard requirement.
If the developers activate the item in a future update, players who already have all 12 colors should be able to finish the quest much more quickly.
Rainbow Haki Unlock Requirements
Here’s everything currently known:
| Requirement | Status |
|---|---|
| Reach Sea 3 | Required |
| Find the Rainbow Haki NPC | Required |
| Collect 12 unique Haki colors | Required |
| Obtain Prismatic Shard | Currently unavailable or undiscovered |
| Return to the NPC | Final step after obtaining the shard |
Tips Before You Start Grinding
If you’re planning to unlock Rainbow Haki as soon as it becomes available, I’d recommend getting the 12 color requirement done now instead of waiting. It doesn’t guarantee you’ll unlock Rainbow Haki immediately, but it means you’ll only have one requirement left once the Prismatic Shard is released.
Also, don’t waste time searching every island for the shard just yet. Unless the developers quietly enable it later, there doesn’t seem to be a legitimate way to obtain it in the current version of the game.
Rainbow Haki is one of the more interesting additions introduced alongside Sea 3, even if it isn’t fully available yet. The quest itself is straightforward—collect 12 unique Haki colors and prepare for the final crafting requirement—but the missing Prismatic Shard prevents anyone from completing the unlock at the moment.
If new information about the Prismatic Shard or the full Rainbow Haki quest becomes available, we’ll update this guide with the exact location, crafting recipe, or drop source so you can finish the quest without any guesswork.
