The latest Survive Zombie Arena update didn’t just add new weapons. It also introduced a completely new class called Overclocker, giving support players a fresh option to bring into matches.

At first glance, Overclocker might not seem as flashy as classes like Celestial or Necromancer. It doesn’t summon devastating attacks or deal massive damage on its own. Instead, it focuses on helping teammates, boosting turrets, and controlling crowds of zombies.

After seeing how the class works in action, it’s clear that Overclocker can be incredibly powerful in the right team. However, solo players may have a very different experience.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new Overclocker class.

How to Unlock Overclocker

The Overclocker class costs:

250,000 Credits

That puts it in the same price range as some of the game’s most expensive classes, making it a major investment.

Before spending that many credits, it’s important to understand exactly what the class does and whether it fits your playstyle.

Is Overclocker a Support Class?

Yes.

Overclocker is officially categorized as a support class.

In fact, it’s only the second dedicated support class currently available, alongside Medic.

Unlike offensive classes that focus on eliminating zombies directly, Overclocker specializes in:

  • Team support
  • Crowd control
  • Healing
  • Turret buffs
  • Utility

Because of this, its effectiveness depends heavily on the players around you.

Overclocker Ability Breakdown

The class comes with three unique abilities.

Beacon

Description:

Boosts the damage of all nearby turrets. Multiple beacons can stack together. Activating Overclock doubles the boost temporarily before turrets overheat.

How Beacon Works

Beacon creates an area where friendly turrets receive additional damage.

This works especially well with:

  • Engineer turrets
  • Survivor turrets
  • Bastion turrets
  • Other deployable defenses

The ability becomes significantly stronger when multiple players are coordinating turret placements.

One surprising bonus is that zombies will attack the Beacon itself.

That means it can also function as a distraction when you’re trying to escape a dangerous situation.

Time Warp

Description:

Freezes nearby zombies inside a bubble, suspending them in the air while causing them to take increased damage.

Why Time Warp Is So Good

This is easily the strongest ability in Overclocker’s kit.

When activated:

  • Nearby zombies stop moving
  • Enemies become suspended in mid-air
  • Zombies take extra damage
  • Players gain breathing room
  • Teammates can reposition safely

The effect lasts several seconds, which is often enough time to:

  • Revive momentum during difficult waves
  • Escape being cornered
  • Save teammates from overwhelming zombie groups
  • Focus fire dangerous enemies

In higher waves where zombie numbers become overwhelming, Time Warp can completely change the outcome of a run.

Overcharge Pulse

Description:

Heals nearby allies, turrets, and minions while also providing a temporary turret damage buff.

Why You Should Keep It Active

Overcharge Pulse is surprisingly useful because of how cheap it is.

Benefits include:

  • Heals teammates
  • Heals yourself
  • Heals summons and minions
  • Repairs turrets
  • Increases turret damage

The healing isn’t massive, but because it can be activated frequently, the value adds up over time.

Many players will likely keep this running almost constantly during longer matches.

Best Way to Use Overclocker

If you’re playing Overclocker, don’t treat it like a DPS class.

The biggest mistake new players make is running off on their own.

Instead, stay close to teammates and focus on supporting them.

Recommended Playstyle

  1. Stay near allies.
  2. Keep Overcharge Pulse active whenever possible.
  3. Place Beacons around important turret locations.
  4. Save Time Warp for emergencies.
  5. Use Time Warp when teammates become trapped.

Playing this way maximizes everything the class does well.

Best Ability Combination

For coordinated teams, the strongest combo currently appears to be:

Beacon + Overcharge Pulse

Beacon increases turret damage.

Overcharge Pulse further boosts turret effectiveness while also healing nearby defenses.

When combined with players running Engineer or Bastion, the damage output can become surprisingly high.

Best Use for Time Warp

While Time Warp can be used offensively, it shines as a defensive ability.

Some situations where it excels include:

Escaping Corners

If zombies surround you, Time Warp instantly creates an escape route.

Saving Teammates

When an ally is about to get overwhelmed, Time Warp gives them several seconds to reposition.

High-Wave Survival

The ability becomes increasingly valuable as zombie density rises in later rounds.

The stronger the wave, the stronger Time Warp feels.

Is Overclocker Good for Solo Players?

This is where things get tricky.

Overclocker can technically be played solo, but it’s clearly not designed for it.

Solo players won’t get full value from:

  • Turret buffs
  • Team healing
  • Support mechanics
  • Ally-focused abilities

Time Warp remains excellent, but the rest of the kit loses a lot of power when you’re alone.

If you mostly play solo, classes like Celestial and Bastion are generally better investments.

Is Overclocker Worth 250,000 Credits?

For team-focused players, absolutely.

The class offers:

  • Strong crowd control
  • Reliable healing
  • Excellent utility
  • Powerful turret synergy
  • Great late-game support

For solo players, the answer is less clear.

While Time Warp is one of the strongest utility abilities in the game, the class’s overall value depends heavily on having teammates who can benefit from its support tools.

Overclocker isn’t the kind of class that tops the damage charts, but that’s not its job. Instead, it excels at keeping teams alive, creating space during dangerous waves, and making turret-focused strategies significantly stronger.

The standout ability is easily Time Warp. Being able to freeze entire groups of zombies and give your team a few seconds to recover can save runs that would otherwise end in disaster.

If you regularly play with friends or coordinated groups, Overclocker is one of the strongest support classes currently available. If you’re mostly a solo player, you may get more value from offensive options like Celestial or Bastion, but even then, Time Warp alone makes Overclocker a class worth considering.
