Let’s talk about the Windkeeper Rod because this one actually surprised me a bit. The moment you see it, you can tell it’s not just another filler rod. The design looks clean, the effects are nice, and even the music tied to it makes it feel different.

Now I’m going to walk you through exactly how I got it, what you need to do step by step, and what to expect once you finally unlock it.

How to Get the Windkeeper Rod In Fisch (Music Venue Update)

So once you load into the update, you’ll notice right away that the venue has been taken over.

You’ll see a bunch of NPCs around like Reaper, Axel, Ret Lunath, Guide, and others. This is basically where everything starts.

You need to talk to these characters because each one gives you a different task, and all of them are part of unlocking the rod.

At first, it looks like a lot, but once you go through them one by one, it’s manageable.

All Quest Requirements

Here’s what you’ll be doing across the different NPCs:

  • Catch 10 shiny flying fish from the ocean
  • Catch one exploded tire
  • Catch and return a forgotten orca
  • Catch and return a glowy penguin using crab cages
  • Catch a heavenly handfish
  • Catch and return a painted brine phantom

There are a few moments where it feels confusing, especially when something doesn’t register or an NPC doesn’t respond, but overall it’s just a list of tasks you need to clear.

Flying Fish Tip (Important)

For the shiny flying fish, don’t just fish anywhere.

You want to go up near the clouds, especially around where the wyvern spawns. The chances are better there, and it saves you a lot of time.

Also, bait matters more than you think. Switching to minnow actually helped get better results, so it’s worth trying.

Celestial Buff Trick

Now this part is important if you’re struggling.

There’s something called a celestial buff, and you get it after catching around 15 fish. It lasts for a short time, but you can stack it.

The trick is to get that buff first, then go for your shiny catches while it’s active.

If you don’t do that, you might end up getting the right fish but missing the conditions you need.

Final Quest Grind

As you get closer to finishing everything, the quests start feeling a bit more RNG-based.

There are moments where you get close but miss the right mutation or condition, which can be frustrating.

You just have to keep going until everything lines up.

Eventually, once all tasks are completed, you’ll unlock the Windkeeper Rod.

Windkeeper Rod Stats

Once you finally get it, here are the stats:

  • 111% Lure Speed
  • 222% Luck
  • 0.11 Control
  • 33% Resilience
  • Infinite KG
  • 66% Progress Speed
  • 2 Disturbance

Overall, pretty solid stats. It’s not weak at all.

Does It Have a Passive?

At first, it looks like it doesn’t have any passive.

You might test it and feel like nothing special is happening, which can be confusing.

But once you try it during daytime, that’s when it starts making sense.

Daytime Mutation

The rod actually works based on time.

During the day, it starts giving a mutation called Sanctified.

So instead of having a constant passive, it’s more situational.

It’s basically the opposite of another rod like Wing Ripper, which works differently depending on conditions.

The biggest thing you’ll notice is the progress speed. It feels really fast, especially when the daytime effect is active.

It works well with setups like rainbow totems, where you’re trying to maximize output.

One downside is that it doesn’t seem to bypass progress lock, so it’s not perfect.

Overall, the Windkeeper Rod is actually pretty solid.

It looks great, feels smooth to use, and once you understand that it works better during the day, it becomes way more useful.

It does feel like a variation of another rod rather than something completely unique, but it still holds its own.

If you’re already doing the Music Venue Takeover quests, it’s definitely worth picking up.
