The Megalo Fullbring, also known as Chara, is the newest Fullbring variant added in the Type Soul True Benihime Update. This power-up introduces a fresh, high-speed offensive playstyle, combining stylish multi-slash abilities with risky activation conditions that reward precision and timing.
This Type Soul Fullbring Megalo (Chara) Guide covers requirements, how to unlock it, and a full ability showcase with explanations.
Type Soul Fullbring Megalo (Chara) Guide
Type: Fullbring (Chara variant)
Category: Offensive / Mobility-focused
Location: Fake Karakura Town (Quest unlock)
Release Patch: True Benihime Update (October 2025)
Megalo stands out for its flashy, chained slashes and the ability to dash through enemies mid-combo. While not as tanky as older Fullbrings, it compensates with extremely fast execution and combo potential.
Requirements to Unlock Megalo (Chara)
Unlocking Megalo is not straightforward. The quest requires a combination of combat milestones, karma-based actions, and trading. Here’s the full breakdown based on confirmed player findings:
1. Achieve 25 Grips
You must grip 25 players.
Each grip must be against your opposite race (e.g., if you’re a Fullbringer, grip Soul Reapers, Quincies, or Arrancars).
It’s recommended to do this in Soul Society, as the player density makes tracking kills easier.
You must be Elite Grade to progress the quest.
Tip: Using an alt account or coordinating with friends speeds up the 25-grip process.
2. Perform a Special Trade
After reaching 25 grips, you’ll receive a trade prompt for the next step of the quest.
You need to trade a Hogyoku Ball (often referred to as “hog ball”) to initiate the ritual.
Some reports suggest that similar high-tier items may also work, but the Hogyoku Ball is confirmed as the intended item.
Location: The trade can be done anywhere, but most players complete it inside Fake Karakura Town to trigger the quest correctly.
3. Trigger the Karma Condition
This is the hardest part and where most players fail the first time.
To fulfill the Karma condition:
Lower your health to below 10%.
While under 10% HP, knock an enemy (finish them off).
There is a 25% chance of triggering the transformation unlock per successful attempt.
Note: If it doesn’t activate the first time, repeat the process — the 25% chance is RNG-based, so persistence matters.
4. Obtain the Megalo / Chara Transformation
Once all conditions are met, you’ll receive the Chara transformation pop-up and can access its Fullbring moveset. You’ll also unlock its Z and X skill slots.
FULLBRING MEGALO (CHARA) SHOWCASE & MOVES
Based on the latest gameplay footage:
1. Basic Crit (M1)
A quick two-slash combo that chains fluidly into M2 attacks.
The hitbox is precise, slightly narrower than other Fullbrings.
Great for extending combos or finishing off weakened targets.
Testing: The crit animation speed feels slightly slower than older Fullbrings like Executioner but offers better endlag control.
2. Z Skill – “Multi Slash”
Rapid slashing combo that strikes multiple times in succession.
Covers a medium range, dealing significant burst damage.
Ideal for punishing whiffs or catching opponents after dashes.
Observation: The Z-skill hits around 5–6 times with consistent tracking, making it one of the most reliable openers in close-range fights.
3. X Skill – “Crimson Wave”
A wide, high-damage slash that covers a full bar of HP on most enemies.
Slight delay before execution — opponents can block if they anticipate it.
Best used after landing a crit or parry to guarantee full damage.
Tip: This move almost one-bars enemies at point-blank range. It’s devastating in duels when combined with dash cancel timing.
4. M2 Strike Variant (“Strike Back”)
When using M2 during or after certain animations, Megalo performs a double slash that launches the target backward.
Sends enemies flying across the arena, opening up follow-up options or escapes.
Comparable to Snake Fullbring’s M2, but faster and more linear.
Combo Potential:
M1 → Z → M2 (Strike Back) creates a knockback combo ideal for damage chaining.
5. “Blood Lust” Dash
A unique forward dash that propels you toward enemies while slashing through them.
Can be used mid-air or during combos to extend reach or evade counters.
Currently one of the fastest dash mechanics among Fullbrings.
Visual: Emits a red blur effect, symbolizing the Chara’s blood-powered mobility trait.
PLAYSTYLE & STRATEGY
Strengths
- Fast, stylish offense: Every move flows naturally into the next.
- High damage potential: X Skill can delete health bars.
- Combo variety: M2 and Blood Lust open creative setups.
- Mobility advantage: Dash canceling and movement speed make it hard to punish.
Weaknesses
- Low defense scaling: You’ll need perfect timing — mistakes are costly.
- Karma RNG: Unlocking is grind-heavy.
- Skill mastery required: Moves demand accuracy, not spam.
Recommended Build
- Core: High attack and mobility.
- Focus on traits: Boost damage and dash recovery.
- Best counters: Shikai / Arrancar users who rely on slow startup attacks.
Megalo (Chara) represents the next evolution of Fullbring combat in Type Soul — fluid, brutal, and rewarding for those who master it.
While its unlock process demands dedication (25 grips, rare item trade, and karma condition), the result is one of the most powerful and dynamic Fullbring styles to date.
