The Wild West just got a fresh The Wild West 4.01 Update, and this one’s a wild ride. Whether you’re a seasoned outlaw or a new gunslinger, this The Wild West 4.01 Update guide breaks down every new weapon and feature so you can decide what’s worth chasing and what’s better left in the dirt. Let’s get straight to it.

The Wild West 4.01 Update Guide – All New Weapons Tips

1. Diesel Musket — The $80,000 Joke?

How to Get It:
Auction House – starting bid of $80,000

Stats Overview:

  • Damage: 80 (body), 120 (head)

  • Reload Time: A painful 20 seconds

  • Accuracy: 100%

  • Type: Musket (1 bullet per reload)

Is it Worth It?
Let’s be honest — no. While the Diesel Musket sounds fancy and expensive, it’s essentially a glorified musket with a reload time that’s long enough for your enemies to respawn, eat a meal, take a vacation, and come back to mock your corpse.

Even though it deals decent damage and has perfect accuracy, it shoots once, then reloads for twenty seconds. That’s an eternity in a gunfight. You’re better off with a Martin Henry or a Hartford Rifle, both of which are cheaper and far more practical.

Verdict:

Skip it. It’s overpriced and underperforms. A collector’s item, not a fighter’s choice.

2. Treasure Shotgun — Find It, Don’t Buy It

How to Get It:
Find all 3 parts from Treasure Chests using Scrolls.

Stats Overview:

  • Fires: 5 bullets per shot (shotgun-style)

  • Reload Time: ~15 seconds

  • Variants: 5 different types

Is it Worth It?
The Treasure Shotgun offers some value — it’s a powerful shotgun that blasts out five rounds per shot, doing solid body damage. But the reload time is another long haul: around 15 seconds. In that time, your enemies can unload entire clips, finish a duel, loot your body, and ride off into the sunset.

That said, it’s still fun to use and free to earn if you’re into treasure hunting.

Verdict:

Decent weapon, but balanced by a painfully slow reload. Worth it if you’re into grindy treasure hunting.

3. Hitman Update — Time to Get Paid

New Feature:
If you own the Hitman Game Pass, you can now:

  • Be hired by NPCs in Bronzey City

  • Eliminate other NPCs for XP and cash

Is it Worth It?
Absolutely. This new feature makes the Hitman role more rewarding and dynamic. It’s finally more than just trolling players — now it’s about missions, strategy, and progression.

Verdict:

If you already own the Game Pass, this is a fantastic addition. If not, now might be the time to consider it.

4. Spitfire — The Legendary Return

Where:
Back in the Auction House

Cost:
Anywhere between $5 to $10 million

Is it Worth It?
The Spitfire is an iconic, high-damage, flashy weapon that many players drool over. But unless you’ve been stacking cash like a banker in Bronzey City, this thing is a pipe dream for most players. Still, if you’ve got the cash and want to flex — go for it.

Verdict:

Ultra-rare status weapon. Only for the rich or hardcore grinders.

5. Howen Musket — A Grind Locked Behind Bears

Where:
Unlock via Hunting Skill Tree at Level 70

Stats Overview:

  • One-shot musket

  • Long reload time

Is it Worth It?
To reach Level 70, you’ll need to hunt bears and other animals non-stop for weeks. All that grind gets you a musket with the same slow reload mechanics as the Diesel — maybe slightly better damage.

Unless you enjoy long grinds for vanity weapons, this one might not be worth the sweat.

Verdict:

A reward for the dedicated hunters — but don’t expect a game-changer.

This update introduces a mix of collector-tier weapons, cosmetic flexes, and a few solid gameplay improvements. If you’re all about skill, movement, and timing — your Sharps Rifle and Yellow Boy will still keep you competitive. Remember, it’s not always about the gun. It’s about how you use it.
