If you’ve been grinding in Sailor Piece and still feel like your damage isn’t where it should be, there’s a high chance you’re sleeping on artifacts.
And honestly, I get it — the system looks confusing at first. But once you understand how it actually works, it becomes one of the easiest ways to boost your damage without even changing your weapon.
Let me break it down the way I wish someone explained it early on.
Artifact System Explained
Artifacts are basically a hidden power system.
You don’t need:
- A new sword
- A new fruit
- A new build
And yet… your damage can still jump a lot just by fixing your artifacts.
That’s why high-level players always care about this system.
How to Unlock Artifacts
Before anything else, you need to unlock it.
- Go to Snow Island
- Talk to the artifact NPC
Until you do this:
- Artifacts won’t drop at all
Once unlocked:
- Every NPC and boss in the game can drop artifacts
So basically, every grind you do from now on = artifact progress.
Milestone System
This is where most people misunderstand things.
Every artifact you get = +1 milestone XP
- Max milestone level: 40
- Higher milestone = better rarity drops
Important mindset shift:
Early game is NOT about getting perfect artifacts.
It’s about:
- Farming as many artifacts as possible
- Increasing milestone level
Even bad drops are useful because they push your future luck higher.
Artifact Leveling
Artifacts are upgraded using dust.
And dust comes from:
- Deleting unwanted artifacts
Simple loop:
- Farm artifacts
- Keep good ones
- Delete trash → get dust
- Upgrade your best pieces
But here’s the trap:
- Max level (15) needs a LOT of dust
- You only get ~33% dust back if you sell upgraded artifacts
So if you upgrade random early pieces… you’re basically burning resources.
Smart approach:
- Don’t rush upgrades early
- Save dust for actually strong artifacts
Artifact Slots
There are 4 slots:
- Helmet
- Body
- Gloves
- Boots
And each one works differently (this is important).
Gloves (Best Damage Slot)
- Always roll damage main stat
- This is your most reliable DPS piece
Body (Most Flexible Slot)
- Can roll ANY main stat
- One of your best chances for strong offense
Boots (Underrated but Strong)
- Can roll damage, defense, or reduction
- If you get damage here → huge value
Helmet (Don’t Chase Main Stat)
- Always defensive main stat
- Only care about substats here
Sub Stats
This is where real min-maxing starts.
Best stats for damage:
- Crit Chance
- Crit Damage
- Damage
Everything else is secondary if your goal is DPS.
Also important:
Not all rolls are equal.
Example:
- Crit chance with low roll = weak
- Crit chance with high roll = top tier
So don’t just look at the stat — look at the value.
Set Bonus
There are multiple sets, but if your goal is pure damage:
Abyssal Crown Set (Best in Game Right Now)
2-piece bonus:
- +20% crit damage
4-piece bonus:
- +12.5% crit chance
- +20% damage
That’s basically everything you want.
Where to farm it:
- Lawless City
- Ninja Island
If you’re serious about damage, this is your endgame target.
Perfect Damage Build
Now let’s make it practical.
Core setup:
- Full Abyssal Crown set
- Gloves → strong damage + offensive substats
- Body → best offensive main stat possible
- Boots → damage main stat (if lucky)
- Helmet → stacked crit/damage substats
Best Stat Ratios
There are two main ways to build:
1. Crit Chance Build (Recommended)
- 70–80% crit chance
- 120–140% crit damage
Why:
- Consistent damage
- Better for most players
2. Crit Damage Build (High Risk, High Reward)
- 52–65% crit chance
- 160–180% crit damage
Why:
- Bigger burst numbers
- Less consistent
One thing people forget:
Keep base damage around 85–90%
Don’t go full crit and ignore base damage — balance matters.
Smart Progression Path
If you’re starting fresh:
Phase 1 – Unlock + Spam Farm
- Unlock artifacts
- Farm EVERYTHING (don’t be picky)
- Build milestone level
Phase 2 – Start Filtering
- Keep decent pieces
- Delete obvious trash
- Don’t overspend dust
Phase 3 – Endgame Farming
- Target Abyssal Crown set
- Look for strong rolls
- Invest dust only into “keeper” pieces
This system is lowkey one of the strongest in Sailor Piece.
Once you build it properly:
- Your damage jumps noticeably
- Farming becomes faster
- Boss fights feel easier
And the best part?
You didn’t even change your weapon.
