In the latest Roblox Archived update, Chips were introduced as a new form of progression. You can obtain them mainly through the Death Sentence Minigame, a high-risk arena challenge, or occasionally from wandering merchants. This guide explains how to access the minigame, the enemy order, how to earn chips, and how to install them for permanent stat upgrades.
How to Access the Death Sentence Minigame
- Start at the Sentenza.
- Head onto the train tracks and follow them until you see a vent on the left wall.
- Slide under the vent with your weapon drawn (jump + crouch/slide).
- Inside, you’ll find an NPC. Speak to him and select:
- “I’m going to cure for glory.”
- Then “I’m ready.”
You’ll be teleported into the Death Sentence Arena.
Recommended Requirement: Be at least Grade 1, since later waves include extremely strong enemies.
Enemy Order in the Arena
Each wave gets progressively harder. After every victory, you’ll be given the choice:
- “Send in more” → continue to the next wave.
- “Enough fighting” → leave with current rewards (not recommended until later waves).
Here’s the order:
Wave 1 – Regular Rat
Wave 2 – Stray Dog
Wave 3 – Kurokumo Henchman
Wave 4 – Twin Hook Pirate
Wave 5 – Grade 5 Fixer
Wave 6 – Blade Lineage Cutthroat
Wave 7 – Shi Association Fixer
Wave 8 – Scrap Guy (Mini-Boss)
Scrap Guy (Mini-Boss)
- High HP, uses teleportation and aerial combos.
- Very annoying fight — use Ego if available to make it easier.
- Defeating him has a chance to drop Chipboard Cache, the item needed for chip rewards.
Alternative Way to Get Chips
If you don’t want to grind Scrap Guy:
- Occasionally, wandering merchants will sell Chipboard Cache.
- These can be redeemed just like the ones dropped from the boss.
Redeeming Your Chips
- Once you have a Chipboard Cache, head to the area where Blade Lineage and Kurokumo NPCs usually fight.
- Use the Chipboard Cache item → this spawns chip items.
- Break a nearby locked door to find the Chip Installer NPC.
- Talk to him and select:
- “I have a chipboard. I need you to install it.”
- Your available chips will appear. Select one to install.
Chip Types & Effects
Each chip provides a different passive upgrade:
- Agility – Increases dash speed.
- Vitality – Increases HP by +5.
- Strength – Increases stamina.
- Endurance – Currently has no effect.
Chip Upgrades
- Combining Chips:
- 3 × MK1 chips → 1 MK2 chip
- Multiple MK2 → upgrade toward MK3
- Uptime Module (from Library):
- Allows MK3 → MK4 upgrades
- Duplicates: You cannot install two of the same chip unless you have an Uptie Module.
Tips for Success
- Only attempt Death Sentence if you’re Grade 1+ or with very strong builds.
- Save Ego abilities for Scrap Guy — the fight drags without it.
- If you fail the arena, consider farming merchants for Chipboard Caches instead.
- Always redeem chips as soon as possible — even small stat boosts add up.
The Death Sentence Minigame is currently the primary way to farm Chips in Roblox Archived. While risky, it unlocks permanent stat upgrades that make your Fixer stronger in both PvE and PvP. Whether you grind Scrap Guy or buy caches from wandering traders, investing in chips early is one of the best ways to gain an edge in the Tower of Gloom.
