If you’ve been grinding Kaizen for a while, you already know some techniques feel good… and then there are the ones that feel straight-up unfair. Ten Shadows is definitely in that second category.

I tested it out myself after watching gameplay and honestly, it feels like you’re not even the one fighting anymore — your summons just take over everything. You go from struggling with mobs to casually watching bosses get deleted while you stand there deciding your next move.

Let’s break it down properly so you actually understand how everything works, not just what buttons to press.

How Ten Shadows Actually Works (Simple Breakdown)

At its core, Ten Shadows is a summon-based curse technique. Instead of relying on your own attacks, you summon different shikigami (creatures) that fight for you.

And here’s the key thing most players miss at first:

  • Your power comes from stacking summons together
  • The more you summon, the less you actually need to fight
  • It becomes an AFK farming machine if used correctly

Each summon has its own role, so let’s go one by one.

Serpent – Your Grab & Execute Tool

This is one of the most satisfying abilities.

When you use Serpent:

  • It grabs enemies
  • Drags them along
  • Then straight up bites and finishes them

It feels like a mini execution move.

Best way to use it:

  • Open fights with it to isolate enemies
  • Use it on stronger mobs so your other summons can focus elsewhere

It also seems to have limited charges, so don’t spam it blindly.

Divine Dogs – Passive Damage Machines

These are honestly the most underrated part of the kit.

Once summoned:

  • They automatically hunt enemies
  • Attack continuously
  • Stay active until they die

You don’t control them — and that’s actually the best part.

Why they’re broken:

  • They basically give you free damage while doing nothing
  • Perfect for farming mobs or distracting bosses

The only downside?
You can’t cancel them manually, which can get annoying sometimes.

Max Elephant – The Real Damage Dealer

Now this is where things start getting crazy.

When you summon Max Elephant:

  • It lands with impact
  • Then starts dealing massive area damage

Even with its smaller range, the damage output is insane.

How to use it properly:

  • Drop it in the middle of fights
  • Combine it with Dogs for constant pressure
  • Use it repeatedly during boss fights for burst damage

If you ask me, this is one of the main reasons Ten Shadows feels overpowered.

Nue – Lightning Chaos From Above

Nue is where things get flashy.

Once summoned:

  • It attacks using lightning strikes
  • Targets enemies around your marker
  • Deals consistent AoE damage

It’s not just strong — it’s also great for controlling space.

Best use cases:

  • Clearing groups of enemies
  • Adding extra damage during boss fights
  • Supporting your other summons

Think of Nue as your air support.

Mahoraga – The Game Changer

Alright, this is what everyone cares about.

Mahoraga isn’t just another summon — it’s basically a temporary boss on your side.

But here’s the catch: it behaves differently depending on your level.

Mahoraga Scaling System

  • Tier 0:
    Attacks everything — including YOU
    (Basically chaos mode)
  • Tier 5:
    Becomes neutral
Fights enemies, but still not fully reliable
  • Tier 10:
    Fully becomes your ally
Fights for you and helps clear enemies

What Makes Mahoraga So Strong?

  • High HP (around 800–900)
  • Strong melee attacks (~400 per hit)
  • Aggressive AI — instantly engages enemies
  • Can solo bosses

From testing, it literally:

  • Runs straight into fights
  • Deals huge damage
  • Can wipe bosses almost by itself

Only downside:

  • Can get stuck on terrain
  • Despawns after some time

Boss Fight Strategy (This Is Where It Shines)

Here’s a simple combo that absolutely melts bosses:

  1. Start with Divine Dogs
  2. Drop Max Elephant
  3. Summon Nue
  4. Use Serpent for burst
  5. Then bring in Mahoraga

At that point, you’re basically just:

  • Dodging
  • Watching damage numbers fly

The boss doesn’t stand a chance.

Then Ten Shadows is probably the best technique for you right now.

It’s one of those builds where once you start using it, going back to anything else feels like a downgrade.
