The latest Kaizen update introduced one of the most unique playstyles in the game — Heavenly Restriction, inspired by Toji Fushiguro. Unlike normal builds that rely on cursed techniques, this one completely flips how we play.
If you’re planning to go for this path, here’s a full guide explaining how it works, how to progress with it, and what makes it so strong.
Kaizen Heavenly Restriction (Toji Fushiguro) Guide
Heavenly Restriction is a special trait that removes your ability to use cursed energy entirely.
That means:
- You cannot use cursed techniques
- You cannot cast any CE-based skills
- Your playstyle becomes fully physical
But in exchange, you get strong stat boosts.
Stat Bonuses
When we equip it, we gain:
- Around +10% melee damage
- Around +9% weapon damage
- About +6% stamina boost
- About +6.5% defense increase
So we trade abilities for raw physical power.
This is exactly why it fits the Toji playstyle.
How To Get Heavenly Restriction
Heavenly Restriction is obtained through the trait system.
We unlock it by spinning traits.
There are two versions:
- Physical Heavenly Restriction
- Sorcery Heavenly Restriction
The Toji-style one is the Physical version, which removes cursed energy completely.
How Progression Feels With It (Early Game)
When we start leveling with Heavenly Restriction, we immediately notice something:
Our damage is extremely high from level one.
Even without skill points, we can:
- One-shot early enemies
- Clear quests faster than normal builds
- Progress much quicker in early stages
This is because the raw damage buffs are active from the start.
First Skills You Unlock
Unlike cursed builds, Heavenly Restriction skills are purely physical combat moves.
Boulder Throw (First Skill)
This is your starter ability.
It allows us to:
- Throw a large projectile
- Hit multiple enemies at range
- Deal very high early damage
This skill alone can carry us through early leveling.
Quick Step Barrage (Second Skill)
Unlocked at higher mastery.
This skill:
- Lets us dash rapidly
- Deliver multiple fast hits
- Greatly increases DPS
This becomes our main combo starter.
Heavenly Clap (Mid Skill)
This ability works like a charged punch.
We can:
- Hold and aim it
- Release for huge burst damage
- Hit enemies from surprising range
It’s one of the strongest burst moves in the kit.
Heavenly Punishment (High Mastery Skill)
This is the ultimate physical grab attack.
It allows us to:
- Grab an enemy
- Slam them violently
- Deal massive damage
This skill is extremely strong in PvP.
Best Stats To Upgrade
Because we cannot use cursed energy, our stat priorities are different.
Priority Order
- Melee – most important for damage
- Stamina – needed for skill combos
- HP – important because we fight at close range
- Weapon Mastery – for Toji-style weapon builds
This stat setup gives the best performance.
Best Grinding Strategy
Heavenly Restriction is strongest when farming mastery efficiently.
The fastest method is:
Farm clustered enemies that spawn close together.
This allows us to:
- Hit multiple targets with Boulder Throw
- Gain mastery quickly
- Unlock skills faster
Later, certain mid-game mobs give the highest mastery gain.
Strengths of Heavenly Restriction
This build is extremely powerful in several areas.
Major Advantages
Very high early damage
Strong melee burst potential
Great mobility and stamina
Excellent PvP pressure
It’s one of the fastest leveling builds in the game.
Weaknesses To Watch Out For
Despite being strong, it has clear downsides.
Main Weaknesses
No ranged cursed abilities
Requires close combat
Relies heavily on stamina
Struggles against high-range opponents
So positioning becomes very important.
Best Weapons To Use With It
Heavenly Restriction works best with physical weapons.
One strong example is:
Soul Split Katana
This weapon provides:
- Strong combo skills
- Pull and slash abilities
- Great synergy with melee builds
Future updates may add more Toji weapons.
Heavenly Restriction removes cursed energy but gives huge physical stat boosts, turning us into a powerful melee-focused fighter that excels in fast progression and PvP pressure.
