The world of Jujutsu Shenanigans just got even more chaotic with the arrival of the Puppet Master. Jujutsu Shenanigans V1.63 Update is a massive update — not just introducing a brand-new playable character, but also balancing and expanding several fan-favorite fighters including Cursed Partners, Honored One, and Vessel.

Let’s break down everything new, from Puppet Master’s abilities to all the gameplay tweaks and system improvements.

The highlight of this update is the introduction of Puppet Master, a new cursed technique user making their debut in Early Access. Puppet Master brings a mix of mechanical precision and aggressive spin-based combat to the battlefield.

New Base Skills

Ultra Spin – A rapid, high-momentum attack that chains multiple hits while keeping your positioning unpredictable. Perfect for punishing grounded or cornered opponents.

Boost On – A mobility-focused ability that lets Puppet Master reposition quickly or extend combos mid-air. The move enhances flow between ground and aerial pressure.

New Special

Offload – Puppet Master’s signature technique. Offload allows you to redirect stored kinetic energy for a sudden burst of damage, or strategically release it for spacing control. Timing this right can completely flip a fight.

Puppet Master’s kit rewards timing, spacing, and technical mastery — fitting perfectly into Jujutsu Shenanigans’ growing roster of high-skill characters.

CURSED PARTNERS – FULL PUBLIC RELEASE

After its Early Access phase, Cursed Partners is now officially released to everyone. Alongside new content, the character received major rebalancing to refine its gameplay flow.

Key Additions

New Ultimate Skill – Elbow Rush: A fast, punishing attack that closes distance instantly and opens up combo opportunities.

New Finisher Additions:

Jacob Ladder now has a finisher animation.

Rika Throw gets a super-secret special finisher — a rare, cinematic move that you’ll want to see for yourself.

Gameplay Adjustments

True Love Beam (small variant)

Cooldown reduced to 15 seconds.

Automatically triggers if Rika isn’t available for the large beam.

Severing Path reworked for fairness:

Damage reduced slightly (20 → 17.5).

Blocking now causes knockback and makes follow-up slashes blockable.

Missing the move increases endlag, making positioning more important.

Resolute Slash received multiple tweaks:

Expanded vertical hitbox.

No longer hits players recovering from ragdoll.

If it fails to stun, Rika abilities are disabled for 1 second — a clever way to prevent spam.

Rika Downslam and Domain interactions were polished:

Downslam now deals more damage during ultimates but no longer true-ragdolls.

Domain duration extended by 15 seconds and now ends when empty.

Katana slashes deal more damage and move faster.

Unlocking Jacob’s Ladder requires 4 successful sword hits.

Overall, Cursed Partners now feels more dynamic and visually satisfying while encouraging better decision-making during Domain sequences.

HONORED ONE – BALANCE UPDATES

Gojo mains will notice significant tweaks aimed at pacing and combo fluidity:

  • Increased ragdoll durations for Teleport Kick and Reversal Red teleport variants.
  • Rapid Punches can now be blocked right after waking from ragdoll, reducing cheap setups.
  • Damage rebalanced across Lapse Blue and Twofold Kick for smoother scaling.
  • Reversal Red MAX damage fall-off reduced to make it less punishing in longer fights.

These changes make Honored One less dominant at close range while maintaining his technical depth.

VESSEL – COMBAT REFINEMENTS

Yuji’s Vessel form got several mechanic-based changes that affect dash management and combo timing:

  • Cursed Strikes now affect your dash cooldowns when landed.
  • Divergent Fist (Black Flash variants) now reset or disable dashes, adding real risk to aggressive pressure play.
  • World Cutting Slash and Crushing Blow have improved hitboxes and damage scaling.
  • Open is now uncounterable, rewarding confident execution.

The overall direction pushes Vessel toward deliberate, momentum-based combat rather than spammy chains.

DEFENSE ATTORNEY – BALANCED JUSTICE

Defense Attorney has been refined into a more reliable mid-range fighter:

Special cooldown reduced (18s → 14s).

Special now grants 1 second of melee iFrame when hitting ragdolled opponents — great for clutch saves.

Extended Swings and Justice Served have slightly higher endlag when missed, balancing risk vs. reward.

Judgement’s Reach range increased but deals less damage when blocked.

Awakening refund system improved:

  • 0 bar → 70% refund (up from 40%)
  • 1 bar → 50% refund + healing added

These tweaks give Defence Attorney stronger sustain and comeback potential.

LOCUST GUY – NERFS

Locust Guy’s aerial potential has been toned down to keep matches balanced:

  • Can no longer start air combos from jump height.
  • Crushing Jaw damage reduced (20 → 15) and now has cooldown + endlag on whiff.
  • Special cooldown increased from 10s → 18s.
  • Small compensations with reduced cooldowns on Clever and Black Mucus for variety.

STAR RAGE – ADJUSTMENTS

  • Special cooldown increased (10s → 16s).
  • Special charge now drains 1.5x less ultimate, improving consistency in longer fights.

ASPIRING MANGAKA – POLISH AND REWORKS

Mangaka’s crowd-control abilities have been refined:

  • Special only works on targets not currently in skill.
  • Despair damage reduced to 14, but its ragdoll duration increased slightly.
  • Shut Up now kills and deals more aerial damage.
  • Sacrilege miss endlag increased (0.5s → 1s), rewarding precise timing.

The reworks shift Mangaka toward better combo precision and situational awareness.

NEW ITEMS

Three new items have joined the sandbox:

Banana Peel – Classic trap for slipping opponents.

TNT – Explosive throwable with high burst damage.

Tinted Glasses – Likely provides vision-related buffs or aesthetic flair (details still under testing).

NEW EMOTES

A whopping 29 new emotes have been added, including meme favorites and thematic dances like Lag Train, Pipebomb, Democracy, Briefcase, and Demon Dance.

Money Fan now shows your actual cash amount.

You can now gift emotes and use purchase multipliers — adding a new layer to player customization.

RANKED MODE IMPROVEMENT

You can now change your character mid-rank match, finally allowing counterpicks and strategic adaptation — a huge quality-of-life upgrade for competitive players.

BUG FIXES

Several persistent issues have been addressed:

  • Blood Rain now stops correctly when countered.
  • End of Journey and Final Showdown logic fixed.
  • Fixed Hollow Purple and Mass Breaker air variants not functioning properly.

The V1.63 Puppet Master Update is one of Jujutsu Shenanigans’ most comprehensive patches yet. It introduces a technically demanding new fighter, brings Cursed Partners to full release, and fine-tunes multiple characters to encourage smarter, cleaner fights.
