The latest Anime Vanguards update has introduced one of the most hyped units yet—Vanguard Broly. Players have been buzzing about how to unlock him, since the process isn’t as straightforward as just pulling from the banner. If you’ve been confused about the requirements, this guide will walk you through every step so you can evolve Broly for yourself.
How to Get Vanguard Broly in Anime Vanguards
Step 1 – Start with Vegeta Super
To get Broly, you first need Vegeta Super. This unit is the base requirement for the evolution. If you already own him, you’re on the right track. Shiny versions also evolve, so shiny Vegeta Super becomes shiny Broly.
When you attempt to evolve Vegeta, you’ll notice that the game asks for a special evolution item. That’s where things get a little more complicated.
Step 2 – The Required Evolution Item
You can’t evolve Vegeta Super into Broly without a new evolution item. The game doesn’t hand it to you directly—it’s tied to a quest system.
To start this process, head over to the Dungeon Shop. There, you’ll find a special remote that kicks off the Broly quest chain. This setup works just like the Sung Jin-Woo red key quest from previous updates: you’ll have to complete a set of objectives to earn the item.
The drop rate for the Broly evolution item is low (around 10%), so expect to grind a few times before you secure it.
Step 3 – The Quest and Raid Requirements
During the quest, you’ll need more than just Vegeta Super. The requirements include other key units, such as:
- Frieza – Found in the banner rotation. Be ready to spend gems, because the drop rate isn’t friendly. In the video example, it took over 50,000 gems to pull him.
- Gogeta (Super) – Also tied to the raid and banner system. You’ll need him as part of the evolution chain.
- Roku (Goku) Evolutions – If you own Roku Super 3, he may need to evolve further as part of the quest. The game hints at additional stages beyond this form, though players are still piecing together the exact steps.
Completing these requirements unlocks the ability to claim the evolution item you need for Broly.
Step 4 – Entering the New Quest Map
The new map is inspired by the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie, complete with the Frieza ship and cinematic backdrops. Here’s what you need to know about the quest itself:
- You’ll fight waves of enemies in an infinity-style mode.
- Broly appears in the background, battling Goku and Vegeta.
- Dragon Balls show up on the side of the screen, but their function isn’t fully explained yet.
- The challenge has a 10% chance of dropping the evolution item needed for Broly.
It’s a grind-heavy mode, but it’s also one of the most visually impressive additions to Anime Vanguards so far.
Step 5 – Use the New Codes for Extra Rerolls
Before you jump into summoning for the required units, make sure you redeem the newest codes for free rerolls:
- late update – 100 rerolls
- angry man – 20 rerolls
- innocent anger – more rerolls
These codes make it easier to roll the traits you want before committing to big gem spends.
Unlocking Vanguard Broly isn’t just a one-and-done evolution. It’s a quest-driven process that requires multiple units, dungeon grinding, and a bit of luck with drop rates. Between pulling Frieza, evolving Gogeta, and farming the new quest, you’ll need patience and plenty of gems.
