The Timberline is one of the newest vehicles you can unlock in A Dusty Trip, and it’s free if you complete a short quest. In this How to Get the Timberline Car in A Dusty Trip, I’ll walk you step-by-step through the process of getting the car, as well as give you a breakdown of its stats, fuel usage, and overall performance.
How to Get the Timberline Car in A Dusty Trip (Free Car Guide)
Step 1: Locate the Post Office (2,800m)
To start the Timberline quest, you’ll need to explore the desert map.
- A post office building will appear at around 2,800 meters.
- Bring a weapon, because when you open the post office door, a mutant enemy will attack.
- Defeat the mutant before moving on.
Step 2: Find the Cash Register Code
Inside the post office, head to the filing cabinet.
- Search through the drawers until you find a hidden code in the back.
- This code is random for every player, so don’t expect it to match someone else’s.
Step 3: Open the Cash Register
Once you have the code:
- Go to the cash register in the same building.
- Enter your unique code to unlock it.
- Inside, you’ll receive an envelope — this is key to unlocking the Timberline.
Step 4: Deliver the Envelope
Now you’ll need to find a blue mailbox to deliver the envelope:
- The mailbox location is somewhat random, but you’ll usually spot it on the right-hand side of the road.
- Place the envelope inside, and the quest will complete.
When done correctly, the Timberline will automatically appear in your garage.
Timberline Car
The Timberline is inspired by the Volvo 850 Wagon, with a few tweaks:
- Large Trunk – Big enough for items like a gas can or rifle, though you can’t crawl inside.
- Tow Hitch – Attached to the back bumper, useful for hauling.
- Four Seats – Front driver + passenger, plus two rear seats.
- Dashboard – Features a digital speedometer (though historically it should be analog).
- Other Details – Includes a radio, working headlights, and a rear-view mirror that’s slightly misplaced.
Performance Test Results
Here’s how the Timberline performs in terms of speed and fuel efficiency:
- Fuel Tank Capacity: 60L
- Top Speed (displayed): 108 km/h
- Actual Measured Speed: ~78 km/h
- Acceleration (0–100m): 11.19 seconds
- Fuel Consumption (per 5,000m): ~1.2L
- Engine Oil Used: ~0.3L
- Radiator Water Used: ~0.8L
The Timberline’s fuel efficiency is solid, making it a good long-distance option. However, its top speed is underwhelming, and acceleration feels sluggish compared to other vehicles.
New Items
Alongside the Timberline, three survival items were added:
- Stamina Syringe – Boosts sprint speed and restores stamina for 10 seconds.
- Bandage – Heals a portion of your health bar.
- First Aid Kit – Fully restores health when used.
These items are often found in the Doctor Clinic, a new random building spawn guarded by three “doctor mutants.” Inside, you’ll always find a mix of medical supplies instead of weapons or food.
The Timberline might not be the fastest car in A Dusty Trip, but it’s a reliable wagon with good fuel usage and plenty of storage space. If you’re planning longer trips, it’s worth unlocking — especially since the quest only takes a few minutes once you know where to go.
