The Beanstalk Update in Grow a Garden adds a brand-new twist to farming with NPC requests. Sometimes, the NPC will ask for specific categories of plants, like prickly plants. If you’re not sure which ones count as “prickly,” this guide will make it simple.

What Are Prickly Plants?

Prickly plants are a special category of crops that the NPC may request during the Beanstalk event. By turning them in, you’ll help grow the Beanstalk, earn points on the leaderboard, and unlock rewards.

Full List of Prickly Plants

Here are all the crops that count as prickly plants in Grow a Garden:

  • Aloe Vera
  • Cactus
  • Celestial Berry
  • Dragon Fruit
  • Duran
  • Horn Mushroom
  • Nectarthorn
  • Pineapple
  • Pickle Fruit
  • Prickly Pear
  • Spikes Mango
  • Twisted Tangle
  • Venus Fly Trap

If you have any of these in your garden, you can turn them in at the Beanstalk NPC to add to the server’s progress.

How to Use Prickly Plants in the Beanstalk Event

  1. Check the NPC’s Request – Sometimes the NPC will ask for fruit, berries, woody plants, or prickly plants. Make sure it specifically says “prickly plants.”
  2. Harvest Your Crops – Collect any of the plants listed above from your garden.
  3. Turn Them In – Head over to the Beanstalk NPC in the middle area and submit them. You can turn in one plant at a time or your entire inventory.
  4. Earn Points – Each plant you submit gives points, which count toward both the leaderboard and Beanstalk growth.

Tips for Farming Prickly Plants

  • Grow Cactus and Pineapple – These are among the easier prickly plants to keep in your garden.
  • Use Mutations – Larger and mutated versions of prickly plants give more points when turned in.
  • Plan Ahead – Since the NPC request rotates, it’s smart to always keep a few prickly plants ready in case they’re needed.

Prickly plants are just one of the many categories the NPC may ask for in the Grow a Garden Beanstalk Update. By knowing the full list, you’ll never waste time guessing which crops count.

Keep some cactus, pineapple, or prickly pear growing, and you’ll always be ready to climb that Beanstalk faster.
